And don't forget that for bloodbending mastery you have to be an experienced waterbender, otherwise you won't be able to move water inside someone's body. This feels like an unfair matchup until see both competitors’ achievements
Katara’s a Master Waterbender but Amon is able to Bloodbend with his MIND, and without a full Moon at that But like with Hama, Katara could resist Amon’s blood bending.
After that it’ll definitely be close match. Especially if Amon is able to freeze Katara long enough to take her bending.
I love Katara but she’s gonna need to practice Bloodbending resistance more.

to be fair, katara was able to gain the power to bloodbend without training for it, and she only received proper training for waterbending after meeting pakku in the north, which lasted only a few weeks. if she was trained intensively like amon and tarrlok were from the moment she was born, she might be as strong as amon

And also hama and katara were able to bloodbend eachother during a full moon, Amon resisted it from a trained bloodbender (his brother) without a full moon needed. He would destroy katara.

I've being tellingy friends Amon would mop the floor with katara.
Another thing to note is that, the 3rd time Ty Lee and katara clashed in the earth kingdom palace is that Ty Lee not only blocked katara's bending but knocked her out so cold that katara's eyes were still open, Amon being stronger than Ty Lee would be able to do more or could probably even kill katara with a dirty punch to the head

The reason Amon will win coz of his blood bending. Katara though learned, she didn’t hone her skills coz she didn’t like the idea of blood bending thus making it illegal. On another thought, she could also win, She is strong willed person. Her blood bending could resurface n resist Amon’s bending then try to stay at a distance in fighting him.
If it was only waterbending and nothing else, I think Katara would win

It’s hard to compare these two. Katara only knew waterbending for about a year and became a master. Amon was waterbending his whole life. Not to mention Katara was 14. I wonder what adult Katara could do
@@Tied348 i doubt she'd be able to contest amon in terms of bloodbending prowess. she simply does not have the heart for it, and it's a practice that she doesn't agree with, which is why she had it outlawed in the first place. amon, on the other hand, is not fazed by the ethical issues surrounding the practice, and his mindset calls for using bloodbending to its fullest potential (which yields terrifyingly powerful results)
also! amon is able to bloodbend without the need of the full moon, whereas katara's known usage of bloodbending was during the full moon. if that doesn't tell you who'd win a 1v1, idk what will

I think Katara would win because even if Amons blood bending is better then Katara it showed that even Hama could only blood bend her for a few seconds, And since they can both blood bend, I think if they tried to blood bend it would just stay for a few seconds, And then it’s from skill, Let’s be honest Katara probably has better and advanced water bending if she was in her prime.
Her one weakness is non benders like Ty lee. She would get destroyed Amon if Amon uses bloodbending and freezes her in place long enough for Amon to take her bending.
It'll be easier than beating korra bro 😂😂... Korra won because she can airbend it's not even a contest only avatars or a sneak attack can beat ammon

Iroh was captured by fodder.
Zhao was able to block Iroh attacks.
And colonel Mongke traded blows with Iroh.
And Zhao was able to get into Jeong Jeong fire wall.
Their reputation doesn’t match their feats.
Reputation matters when they are against low and mid tier not when they are against top tier masters with much better feats than theirs.
There is no hype that Iroh and jeong Jeong have that lets them beat combustion man. Pli. Kuvira. Unalaq. King Bumi.
Red Lotus is more than a match for the WL. Especially cause half the team only has hype. And most of Pakku feats are full moon.

It was simply time for Amon to lose in terms of the plot. And Korra is an avatar, much more powerful than Katara
Amon also tanked point blank lightning.. mako was jjst in the right position to release his lightning but he didnt resist the bloodbending. If he was a water bender or earthbender hell even air he wouldve been screwed it just so happen to be that he can release lightning from his fingers which didnt do much anyways. So if lightning point blank cant really do much what is katara gonna do to him?

Mako was only able to move 2 fingers, you can't prove that Katara would create a freaking flashflood with 2 fingers. And Amon was weakened by Mako's blast which is how Korra broke free.
You have zero evidence to suggest Katara can break free from Amon.
@@ThatsCrazy482 but you don't need a lightning to break free from bloodbending. Waterbenders can use their element for resistance, we see that when Katara breaks free from Hama and Amon breaks free from his brother.

I feel like it isn’t fair for katara because she was born in a earlier generation and that made it so the bloodbending from katara was barely even known while Amon had tons of experience and had a very powerful family that bloodbend very well but I don’t know who would win. Also great video.

How does Amon have a long line of bloodbenders?
Hama was the first then Katara the second then she outlawed it and never would have taught it to anyone. Yakone is a similar age as Aang and Katara (biologically). At most he would have to be Hama's son but I don't see her reproducing with the people she hates enough to lock up plus she was very insistent on Katara learning as if she hasn't taught anyone else and needed Katara to pass it on.
It should have faded away into obscurity. Katara keeping the knowledge to herself and never teaching anyone
That story is left behind the scenes. Hama was probably not the first bloodbender on the Earth, she just thought she invented that by her own, while Yakone's bloodline, in case if ever existed, have lived in secret. He and Hama never met.

Still not sure... If you asked me it depends if its full moon or not... Amon has trained to have the same power, without the moon. Katara would lose caus she doesnt have the power to controll or stop bloodbending. But.. if its the fullmoon, they get equel power! I hear you say, amon got stronger too, but i believe his power wont get an extra boost. He has trained to get the same power like with a full moon, even without a full moon, what means his power is at his max, with or without the moon and doesnt get boosted again.
So, i would say, when its full moon, they both have great skills and think katara might overpower amon, same way as she has overpowerd hannah, a true master.
If the full moon is gone, yeah, that would be the end of katara without a doubt... So she has to face and kill amon at full moon, befor its too late.
Katara is a better Waterbender the only reason Amon wins is because of his Bloodbending.

Gais its not even close Katara could bloodbend at age 13-14 who knows what she could do my Amon's age and we know that she uses bloodbending to enhance her agility amon does too but katara can easily use the octopus form to murder him
Amon can only beat katara if he's a better waterbender than katara because bloodbending is useless against katara
being a great waterbender doesnt mean you're immune to bloodbending. mind you amon can lift folks several feet off the ground with bloodbending, subtly adjust someone's movements with bloodbending to where none of their attacks land, and even take bending away with the subelement. all of this being done WITHOUT the full moon.
meanwhile, katara requires the full moon to even attempt bloodbending. that should say a lot about how this fight would go

We unfortunately don’t see Amon waterbend much and I kind of despise the creators for it but if your bloodbending levels are like that, surely your waterbending is also top tier.
Amon is too fast and agile for Katara, and arguably compatible in waterbending skill. Just the fact he can bloodbend without the full moon says it all. He’d take Kataras bending away easily.
And Katara beating and overpowering an old Hama isn’t that impressive. She’s old, lol. Amon best her easily.

Katara didn’t use bloodbending but she caught on in minutes and that was when she was young, also amon only has bloodbending and katara has every type of water bending. Katara in her prime would beat amon and there was a reason she wasn’t in the court room in yakone’s scenes, if she was there it wont happen and also amon only ever used bloodbending which katara is immune to as we saw in hama’s case, amd that was a younger katara and and older katara would have it easier and amon having nothing but bloodbending would lose to katara’s water bending
