- Rise of the TMNT, the film on Netflix was a huge hit for its fandom as it concluded our favorite turtle’s journey for the time being. It had epic story telling, directing, voice acting, visual appeal and pushed its limits in animation.
However, in the final battle during Krang vs the Mad Dogs, many of Kevin Molina-Ortiz’s storyboards were cut due to unknown reasons and was never finished. His amazing animatic posted online is inspiring and tremendously well done.
Meghan Auer and Emily Chen, two big fans that are constantly inspired from the show, wanted to test their limits and restore the boards that Kevin had pitched. The “restored” segments were completed ENTIRELY illustrated/animated in Procreate, and composited in Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Premiere.
This video is a fan project and is in no way affiliated with the brand Nickelodeon, Flying Bark and Netflix and was not produced with the intention of monetary profit.
All rights belong to Nickelodeon and Netflix, including all associated characters in the clips from the movie.

The thing is that it's not a fan animation, it's the story board for the movie that was scraped. They just accurately colored it to make it fit in

I could tell, there were some differences in the animation and on top of that I’ve watched the movie so many times that I know that action scene by heart

TMNT will never be this cool again so long as the people that greenlight projects refuse to let the franchise evolve the way Rise tried to.

I wish people would just accept that.The ending.The movie was the best ending and stop trying to force the show to come back. I.
Get that, the writers.That's what they wanted originally but they made it wrap up like people should just let it go and let a show end on a good note.
And I feel like the pushing isn't fair because nickelodeon is not entitled to go ahead and listen to fans when it is about the money.

I just feel like people get very oh my gosh you wanted.You didn't want the fifth turtle.Nobody's entitled to like everything that the director was going to do and not everybody has to fight for the show to continue.If we don't like the way that the direction is going i'm not going to fight to have the show continue if I don't agree with what they would have done for season three.
Leo's decision to stay in the dimensional prison by closing the portal makes a lot more sense after seeing Donnie almost get destroyed by the Kraang attack, you can see in his eyes that the poor guy was destroyed inside.
Leo did this for his brother's sake
So for a Titanic moment he made a big sacrifice for them
You can see when he realizes if he doesn’t do what he did then his brothers might, and will, actually die
Yeah, Dontron was knocked out, he was only half conscious. You can also see this when raph grabs him.
I mean the colorists did a solid job but, they're just putting in the the cut peices from the original full fight that was scrapped. I wouldn't give credit to the animators in this scenario

I wanted these storyboards fully colored and animated since the movie came out so I'm extremely grateful for this 😭
I just hope this shows Nick and Netflix and Paramount how desperately we want the show we were going to be given. A full season 2 and an entire season 3. If toy sales were the problem, then they should've been looking at what kinds of fan merch people were making and selling. And toys that didn't look so expressionless 😨

They also BARELY advertised the show and the toys- I didn't even know what ROTTMNT was until like 2 years ago. There was so much potential too😭
What? The problem wasn't just with toys. You forgot all this unfounded hatred towards the series, and now that the show has revealed its best side, everyone suddenly wanted to bring it back, as if they had always loved it. Therefore, you should never listen to your audience and fans, opinions change too quickly.
We were robbed of so many good storyboards so I'm hyped af for this
I know I already said it but it bears repeating; my excitement for this cannot be overstated. After watching Rise, I have sequentially forced my husband to watch the 2012, 2003, and 1987 versions of the Turtles and this is just perfect timing with the absolute perfect thing to cap it all off before the new series premieres. It's such an amazing thing. I already love it, and I'm incredibly proud as a fellow fan of the time, effort, and love you've put into bringing this to life.
After watching, this might be my new favourite thing. The music and the flow and the seamless blending, it's just absolutely exquisite.
@@heckthecat The music syncing with everything was all coincidental. We spent around 3 hrs finding the right royalty free song and turns out, one of the first few sonds we got fitted perfectly so nearly little to no edits were needed for all the beats to sync!
therefore, one should never make hasty conclusions. The show closed because people hated him for being different.

For a moment I thought that some scenes were real, mostly when I put the movie on TV I start doing other activities while listening to it, for a moment I thought I had missed some scenes JKSJKSJK it is really very beautiful how they adapt to the style and the animation managing to be as fluid just as in the series :3

I can't decide if this is way better then the movie fight but it was so awsome getting to see more of Donnie unleashing his full power and even seeing more fighting from the rest of them it's awsome how you can tell the difference between the actual movie and fan animation, the fighting in this tmnt series still just blows my mind 🤩

This is just amazing!!! You literally can't tell between the actual movies animation and the added parts!!! Everyone did an amazing job on this video it looks spectacular!!!! I loved the krang fight storyboard and how it showed each of the turtles fighting with their own moves and then together and I'm glad people remade it all!! I love when leo is running on raphs arms that appear through his portals and the way donnies fight scenes get to shine !

The fights totally could’ve been longer. And this perfectly showed a lot of more of their mastery of their mystic powers and the combinations they use with them. I friggin miss Rise 😞

Ever since I first saw the original storyboards I've wanted to see that amazing close-up at 2:24 properly animated, and holy crap it looks even better than I could've imagined, this entire video does! You people are so insanely talented!!
This shot took me about 7-8 tries to really get the expression down. Hands down probably one of the most difficult shots I had to animate/draw/capture Leo's expression with limited time/subtle animation. I'm so glad you like it!
