Happy to support it all helps us narrow down our choices. For example I was almost at Knightrunner buy stage but agree with almost all the points you made about it. Didn’t want to change certain aspects of it that should have been part of its build. Also biased as my disabilities mean I can only do so much.
In this case I am so glad - for having been helpful, and not for your disabilities! (Yes Craig, that was obvious). But thank you for telling me that, what I really want from these videos is to be helpful. Thanks!
Recently got into the cheap RC rabbit hole. Influenced by many RUclips channels. Started with getting the MJX rally car and fell in love with it. The weight, speed, maneuverability, looks, 3 sets of wheels, 2s and 3s capable and affordability got me hooked. So I picked up the MJX infraction clone truck. The plus of the clone is the hex hardware. The RUclips hounded me again. So I got my first Rlaarlo RC, the ROG1. And now this is my favorite cheap RC. It is insanely fast. Instant response on throttle and braking. The main issue I have with the MJXs is the crap steering. The ROG1 steering is 100 times better than the MJXs. The build quality, and the quality of the parts on the ROG1 are way better. The only downside is no parts support from local hobby shops. Parts are only available through mail or this view they have on Amazon. So these small scale affordable RCs have definitely got me hooked.
Now there's an adventure! I've got all three of those cars here too. What a time to be in RC, it never used to be this good before! Glad you're enjoying yourself 😎

Not going to grind you down on the 3s miss. Something I did with my MJX though which you might want to think about for the future is a full aluminium upgrade (front and rear arms, servo saver etc etc). That transforms it even more.
Thanks! Sorry I missed that the MJX can't run 3S, but I think it's better on 2S anyway, at least without a gyro! They're both good value for what you get! Cheers
I was able to find a 10% off coupon for the ROG1, so I was able to get it for ~130 USD shipped. I believe if you sign up for Raalaro's spam newsletters, you get that coupon (I just used my spam email). The ROG1 has quickly become one of my favorite go-to RCs and I've had a BLAST using it at skate parks semi-responsibly (most of the time). It handles so well and just feels so smooth going over jumps. I've done some REALLY irresponsible stuff with it as well and while it has broke as a result, the abuse its taken without breaking is second only to my MT10 and possibly my Kraton 6s EXB ( too expensive to abuse). I haven't used the MJX, but can highly recommend the ROG1.
Thanks for the feedback. The MJX is light enough I reckon it'd stand up to similar abuse. The difference between them is the feeling of locked in control with the Rlaarlo. It's a much better driver.
The angry snail 3s available for the mjx is a great option for $40 you get the battery, and a better battery door that allows larger batteries to install.
The "bezgar hp161s" version of the mjx on amazon is a version sold with a 3s battery instead of the 2s one/s. Only 1050mah and that proprietary shape still though unlike the angry snail upgrade battery for them.

Rlaarlo have said that they will make updates but haven't heard anything about that yet.
This is an excellent comparison as always. Both seem to be very good cars. According to the links you provided the Rlaarlo is almost twice the price of the MJX. The ROG is $159.99 on sale and the MJX is $85.99. So, the Rlaarlo should be better. MJX is known for its toughness. The Rlaarlo is also tough. One question is how quickly can you get parts? The other is what other batteries fit in the MJX? I know you're very busy. But, sometime you may want to take a look at the comparison of the MJX 10208 and the Rlaarlo Omni Terminator done b Derby city RC. Big Rlaarlo bias, little scale discrepancy, MJX also do a 1/14 scale which would be a better comparison. try buying parts for the Rlaarlo I live in China and cant even get them, MJX are way ahead there. I have both and the MJX is still going, Rlaarlo is in a box waiting for part.
This video was done due to commenter request. It's what people asked for, so I did it. I have to bias for either to be better. Believe me or don't, but it's the honest truth. Sorry your car is not running. Parts supply has not been an issue here for the past half year or so, though rlaarlo did have a hiccup last year for a few months with some supplies. If there's a size equivalent MJX, I'd have happily compared it also/instead. You're the first to mention it and I went out of my way to find an MJX model. Doing my best, bro. Doing my best!
Unfortunately, the situation is not so rosy with the rog1, it has one very big problem, these are terribly weak drive shafts which simply fail after the first rides, shipping from rlaarlo takes 2 weeks... There are no improved parts to fix this problem or alternatives on the market that fit without modification big NO to rlaarlo for this problem.
I haven't experienced this yet, though I've heard about shaft weakness. I've abused mine pretty hard so far and haven't had any issues at all, for what it's worth.
I dunno about ten times better, the Rlaarlo drives better to my feel. But I'm sorry I didn't try this on 3S, I wish I'd known it could run it. Value for money alone, the MJX is maybe even impossible to beat. It's only when you start to value the feel of its response and overall drivable feel that the ROG1 moves into the lead, IMO. But that's also more important to me. It may not be to you, and that's fine! My opinion only. Cheers!

MJX also do a 1/14 scale which would be a better comparison. try buying parts for the Rlaarlo I live in China and cant even get them, MJX are way ahead there. I have both and the MJX is still going, Rlaarlo is in a box waiting for part.
Just to note, I also asked Rlaarlo at the Beijing Hobby expo, they had no spares back up and I all seemed new to them. 😅
I am in the US and ordered parts from Rlaarlo for my Omni Terminator and they were delivered in 3 days. No issues with parts here.
I can't imagine living in the country of origin for all rc cars and not being able to get parts. That's messed up man.
@eliflynn7282 the local info is good to have, for sure. I suspect with time they'll get on top of it.
MJX IS 10X better more durable cheaper and a BEAST ON 3S!
Cheers!
@@RCTNT would love to give the Rlaarlo ago, they do make good things, and I think they are great quality for the price!
I'm not "BASHING" Rlaarlo but...
I seem to see a few videos (Tomley Rc check him out he is great like you, honest guy) and they are not as durable as the mjx.
the drive shafts have broken on all the reviews I have seen.
don't get me wrong id love a better handling BASHER truck, but a BAHSER that is weak I'm not so keen on.
(EDDIT: I'm so glad to have had a reply from you, please keep up the great work, I absolutely love the videos you do, I'm a crawler fan, but love the diversity of these videos keep it up)
👍
The Rlarrlo turns on easily, unlike my last gf.....WHAT? dont' tell me you didn't expect that! hahaha
I'm blindsided and floored.
