Tbh what Isagi said to Yukimiya about his "Precious fantasy sinking straight to hell" does kind of apply to Ness as well. Ness is thinking that football is magic when really most of the time he is just being Kaiser's pet, rambling on about Isagi being an bad or just being the tattle tale he is. They're both too deluded in their stupid fantasies.
Yes, Ness is sometimes a bit too annoying in his fanboy-mode, but a lot of us Nerds can identify with having fun playing anime characters or movie characters in our plays with friends. His family is like a typial academic one, very strict and cold. I really respect the willpower he brought up to go up against his parents and siblings, fighting for his own way of life.
It sucks cuz I wanna feel bad for Ness but I really don't. Mainly because the duo dynamic between Reo and Nagi is almost similar but both of them went through trials and tribulations and faced off their own weaknesses and then reunited and became a stronger duo. BUUUUT, I've noticed that Ness is starting to acknowledge Isagi a bit. I feel like he may change but Kaiser is deeply rooted in his revenge against Isagi. So depends how the next match goes I may change my mind about him.

I also liked seeing ness's past story & it was interesting to see why ness is called magician 🎩 But currently his behaviour towards isagi and blue lockers in general and overwhelming love for kaiser still pisses me off 😤 However, I was more looking forward to kaiser's backstory more but sadly we didn't get any yet in the current chapters but atleast we got to look at kaiser & ness's friendship & dynamic.
This backstory felt so... Forced? Like Kaneshiro just wanted to give him a tragic backstory to... I guess make him sympathetic? I really don't know. It was nice seeing how he and Kaiser came to meet and their relationship feels much better than how it does currently but the parents and siblings are so cartoonoshly evil and the backstory feels so forced I genuinely don't enjoy it. Also it kinda makes the name "The magician" feel weird because shouldn't he be "The Wizard"? He believes in creating real magic(or at least wanted to) while Magicians are practitioners of false magic.
Probably hinting to how people perceive magic as unreal or impossible, and despite that Ness still wants to pursue it? Following his interaction with Kaiser of achieving the impossible? And I suppose this was told from Ness's perspective, so him recalling his childhood was probably what he felt and remembered so it may be slightly exaggerated based on how Ness reacted
