Rathcoole PB definitely has more of a "family" feeling to it than the other flute bands. I love how their musicians range from school age kids all the way to retirees! Imagine how fun it would be to grow up throwing batons with Dad in the band behind you. And people say these parades should be outlawed!
We need more flute bands like this in the US! They could play some of our traditional wartime songs from the Revolution, Civil War, etc. I know they exist, but they're too rare! We shouldn't leave marching exclusively to High School bands and the Army Band!
those side drummers are brill with their smiles and wee dances, bring the whole band to life, even the fluters are smiling while playing which is very hard to do, well done boys and girls, lovely to see such a nice happy wee band 👏👏
