Thanks for my "Chuckle of the day" - watching you two girls trying to row. You know, inflatable dinghies don't row very well if you put weight up front (sinks the bow and then it acts like a rudder at the wrong end of the boat) - you need the weight aft - have your passenger sit her butt on the transom and then the Highfield will track much better. Carry on! :)
@@Morrisfactor hahaha Yeaaaah we knew. lol 😂 Was fun twirling around. Though. I think that’s the only good reason it tracked straight when she started paddling us backwards.
They were both extended completely. Having weight on the bow was the main issue, honestly, I just can’t remember if I edited out the part where I was saying it was her fault or not. lol 😂 We were having fun with it.
Hello Jess, do you remember me at all? when you first started this channel we talked several times about the CT51's as main topic, I gave you the low prices I was seeing on the West Coast ? I never mentioned that I thought you were the Perfect sailing wife at least for ME, You check all the boxes except two that I wonder about. . I was happy to find that you have a VW channel, I am a VW Porsche Mechanic and Restoration specialist, among many other talents, if you like a tall, intelligent, muscular and some say Handsome Gentleman , I would Love to talk with you, and send Photos, I am Not a Nut, but a Man who knows what he wants. @@richardbirkenwald811 Hahaha, I am smiling at your comment. You reminded me of a Big fabrication truck shop I worked in, we had 4 Richards in there and needed to clarify who we were talking to at times, we had Old Dick, Young Dick , Mountain Dick and short Dick, which one are you?
@@davidhakes3884Definitely veryolddick at this stage of my life😊. Not competing with you. My wife says I am only allowed one wife. I think there is an email on her web site. I definitely wish you luck🎉. She's a catch.

From the picture, it looks like you have two left handed oars. One is cupped forward, the other is cupped aft. Both should be cupped aft to properly grab water and move it aft
Lives in Florida but can't row, seriously Siren, 🤣😆😂😁😀😅😲Siren, just add another triple pulley so they are both even, then it won't matter which way u attach the pulleys to the dingy, and have way more purchase to lift, ok got it, clear as mud.
I can row, and used to row back and forth a quarter mile to and from shore multiple times a day when I was a teenager as well as in my early 20’s and lived on the hook. However, these particular types of RIBs don’t row well, and these oars, and the oar locks, aren’t really designed from daily rowing. They’re really just for emergencies. The paddles are very light (which is intentional to keep overall weight down), thing and are low volume, which makes for a terrible rowing experience. I’d also said in the video that Tabitha being on the bow was part of the issue, because adding weight back there means that the boat will pivot off the bow as opposed to the stern. We had fun with it, though! But yes, I do have probably a lot more rowing experience than your average cruiser, I can unfortunately say, as the outboard was often in pieces back then.
Once bitten by the sailing bug, you might never get rid of it. The man I bought my Downeaster from was "going back to land". That did not last. He is buying another boat. He just missed sea life too much.
Jess I love your videos.. way too long. Us short attention span viewers can do without some of the BS. shorten your intro. 20 seconds... It is why I don't watch videos all the way through. I do share your videos with people. Especially doppelgangers
That was an adventure in rowing. Keep the good stuff coming Siren.

@@TheSirensLog Why you little trixster, making us all think we could offer good advice - but you not really needing it at all!
Try taking the paddles off and each of you sit on the side and paddle. 😊
You two make a great team !!
10:54 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I dying here. Brings back memories
That is the hardest rowing little thing!! lol
Did you two have a lot of fun? ✅ Cheers 🍺
Did you remember to pull the dinghy drain plug so it won't fill with water when it rains?
Sure didn’t; thank you. lol I’ll get back over there and get it. We had to get out of there pretty quick.
@@TheSirensLog Have done that more times than I care to recall. :)
You two are really funny

Thank you so much Nicholas. I hope you guys are having a lovely week over there. It got cold here quick!!!
Ladies that was some interesting rowing, but it got you where you wanted to go. 😂
It would help if the two oars were extended to the same length, so you wouldn't go in circles.

Only though on you friend with the lipro battery , they require a higher voltage setting to charge if charging from engine .

Very good ! Now get the right pulleys for both sides ,

No!!! two right handed oars, 😆
lol Honestly I don’t think either are cupped. They’re just awkward little emergency oars.
