Thank you. As a Venetian, I appreciate your comments. Venezia is a unique gem. I am very proud of my heritage; I wish more people would learn the history of the Serenissima which lasted longer than the Roman empire.
I wish it lived longer as a republic. It’s all Napoleon’s fault :p
You are absolutely correct- there is no other city on earth quite like it! I first visited in 1987, and fell crazy in love with the place! I have since visited 18 times, mostly in December, and it is magical in winter! The book that transports me is Venice (by Jan Morris) . Venice has changed drastically since 1987, it had become emptied of Venetians😢. I now go to Chioggia, which has the charm of a living breathing “baby Venice “! But I will return inn14 months, in December again! The city feels much more real and welcoming then.
As a disabled guy who would have loved to visit I know that it’s just impossible so your walkabouts and insights are for me just wonderful.
I hope you can go one day!
God Bless.
Great other places too.
@karldelta wow what a disrespectul dumb comment
It would be difficult, if you're in a wheelchair, but not impossible. Still, there's the entire rest of Italy you can go and see. Go to Rome, go to Florence, et al. Then there's the rest of Europe. Berlin is the coolest place there IMO. You ask people around Europe if there's any place you should really go see and most will invariably tell you, 'Berlin'.
Something Is changed, but it isn't enough, true
I was this week there for 5 days. What a stunning city, loved every second. I never felt uncomfortable wearing my watch and the locals where so nice. cheers from switzerland.
Me too !
I just love that you really consider yourself a Venetian. I am not from Venice but I am proud of my fellow Italians from the Serenissima: they most certainly know how to reciprocate your love for their splendid city. Kudos to you for the accurate and heartfelt review of the Venetian lifestyle and common misconceptions!
Thank you. Wifey and I come to Venice every year (for the last 8 years) our favourite city in the world. I' have learned to become a much more respectful tourist - having more awareness of the inconvenience we tourists place on residents. Your video educates us - and helps more people make the mental shift toward 'polite & respectful' tourism. Thank you. Will be there in 3 weeks time. We have even considered buying something there.
Still one of my favourite Oisin videos. Inspired us to visit Venice (and so we did earlier this year!).
Great video! Great content. Love to know about the real Italy. Happy Lenny was involved. Keep ‘em’ coming.
I live in Venice. I hate cars, I hate not being able to walk everywhere so I don’t think I would ever live in a city like those in the US, I’m lucky to be born here
The wife and I are in Venice right this minute. One more day in the penthouse at the Monaco on the grand canal.
I love this. I've been four times this year and will be back again soon. I love roaming around observing the way the city operates, especially the hunky delivery guys, running around in all directions, keeping the supplies coming in. I travel alone and have always been treated with absolute courtesy and respect.
Great video, Oisin! Having visited last fall, this brought back great memories. Thanks!
I really enjoyed the informative approach to this video and your pictures and narration are always so good, Oisin! Thank you for this!
There was some solid laughs in there too!
I've been waiting for a video with this content and you did not disappoint Oisin! Lol at Lenny "let me finish on your feathers", so good! Thanks for the laugh and great content.
Man, I love your videos. I've seen lots of videos on Venice but I learned more from you. I also really enjoyed your Van Halen video. Thanks
Ive been waiting for this exact content fro you. Thank you!
Great video as always! Looking forward to the next one!
I love the ending!! We need more of Lenny.. I will be coming there next year with my family. My grandparents are Venecian and also from Vittorio Veneto. Its been over 160 yrs since we have able to walk in our ancestors footsteps once again. This will be a special time for our family. We are all so excited to go and meet our cousins..
Love your local Venice Reviews, Mr. O‘Malley. Much more interesting than the silly watches. Just ordered a Sinn 556 A. Looking forward to get it on my wrist. Have a good day and go on with your cool content. :)
Own two 556s. Great watch. A true keeper.
Having it since Monday on the wrist now and I totally love it. Need to sell all my other watches now. :D JK but this one will be my daily from now on. It’s legibility is unbeatable.
Great video as always mate! I've been waiting for this. Looking forward to stopping by Venice in the summer of 2024.
Loved it man. One of my favorite places in the world. Hope to call it home some day.
Very nice. Grazie Mille!
This is soo great, getting the insight as a local! I been there twice and looking to return soon, keep it up Oisin! And of course Lenny!! 😄
I don't care what Lenny says, I still want to visit Venice one of these days. By the way I totally understand tourists being a necessary evil. I live in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Well, there's a difference. There's tourists, and then there's travelers. Tourists are the hordes of mongrels who come in off the cruise ships, walk around for a few hours, don't really spend any money, and leave a mess. A traveler spends time in a place getting to know it and see its gems. They contribute to the economy and they treat the place with the same respect they would where they live. Venice doesn't need the tourists. And the cruise ships are destroying the lagoons.
The return of Lenny…luv it!
Great video
I’ve been there twice, both in May for 5 days and September for a long weekend. Both great times to go, not too busy or too hot. Loved it there, so surreal.
Nice job Oisin. Loved Lenny's take. Very funny. But having visited your great town several years ago I have to say Venice is a must see. Loved it!
Incredible video Oisín, I was extremely lucky to have grabbed a few days there last week. We even made our own 'Don't Look Now' tour, a great way to see Venice at night full of Ripasso.. Loved it.. Great that you have all the freedom of the channel rename to do more of these.. Magic 👍
Love this video and hoped that you would do something like this.
I know Venice very well having studied there and it's an amazing place, particularly when you avoid the obvious tourist 'hot-spots'. My favourite is sitting in Campo S. Margherita or Fondamenta dei Ormesini. Your videos have cost me alot of money, not on watches, but when I see your videos walking around Venice it usually leads me to booking a trip..... I do my best not to be 'one of those tourists'
Great video Oisín, really looking forward to visiting next year hopefully. Was cracking up watching Lenny’s take too 😂!
Awesome video. Great insight into a most fascinating city.
Fantastic this is what you do so well it’s class and just as much fun as the watch vids keep it up 👍
❤❤❤🎉 Great video! I am a new subscriber. I have been to venice italy .two times and I am from minnesota usa. I am going to look at a lot of different areas I love venezo
That new intro is awesome. Venice is my favorite city in Europe! Next year will be my 6th time with the fam as my usual gateway stop
Great vid as ever. Thank you.
❤grazie delle belle parole alla mia citta. Una vecchia giudecchina.
Wow, Billy Butcher making a video on life in Venice. Amazing.
I'm from a very turistic mediterranean island myself, and I really understand you, both Lenny and you ;-) Good video!!!
Brilliant mate!
So far only been there as a nuisance aka a tourist, but fell deeply for its charme and could picture myself to move there for a few years. Probably once hooked not leaving at all.
Thanks for sharing!
Love your content. Thank you!
We were there two weeks ago and we were surprised by how clean it is, how even the pavements are, how friendly the people are. It feels very safe too. There is so much to see even by walking through the lesser known sestieres. My favourite city in the world, also because it is so peaceful and quiet. Indeed a gem!
Another awesome video, loved it. 😁👍
Brilliant! Thanks for the commentary.
Great video Oisin...! My Grand parents were from Veneto... Falcade Belluno ... Loved it...GG..IN
Have been in Venice. A few years ago. I loved it.
Great video. 👍
all hail the great lenny .. amazing work...!! TOP TOP TOP END .. go to VENICE
If changing the name of the channel means more content of this nature, it was a great decision you made!
I'm glad Leonard could join you in the video. I always enjoy his perspective! Lol :)
Oisin another Great Vid Man!!!!!!
We were in Venice for the past 4 days and i secretly hoped to bump into you somewhere on the streets of Dorsa Duro. I only managed to find the diaper you showed us 😩
Well done Lenny!
Went here for my bday last summer and was surprisingly not too busy. Stunning, dreamy place.
Been looking forward to another video
Great vid, with a hilarious ending
Disney world tickets just booked! Thanks Leonard!
LMAO
The last 3 minutes should definitely be in your Top 10 “closings” of all time. Absolutely hilarious
Well done
OMG LMFAOOO at the ending!!!!!
Venice has a magical charm, and just wandering the streets all day long is reward itself. Burano is also marvellous
I was baptised as a local of a very small town in Norfolk a couple of weeks ago. The bartender said “you’ll know where the cashpoints are” made my day. I’ve been visiting very regularly for over 10 years. I live 2 hours away and I consider that place my local.
Since I had Italy pop up in my feed, it has been pretty cool. This one popped up today and I really like how you are down to earth while being pretty darn practical about being in a Venetian. Would be such a wonderful and interesting place to live. Maybe if I win the lottery or get a really rich sugar daddy 😂😂
Thank you for this video. Another reminder just how beautiful Venice is. Even Lenny can't dissuade me! 😆
That was a really enjoyable video.😊
Oisin & Lenny’s Point Counterpoint of Venice…terrific!
The original music is great too.
Lenny for president!
I missed Lenny!!! Thanks!!
Hi mate, our last night in Venice, been here for the weekend and loved every minute.
I told my wife about this video and we watched it before we came.
Everything you said was absolutely spot on, I suggested we didn’t wear our Rolex’s and I don’t know why, felt safer here than any place in the uk.
You were right about the seagulls, watched them terrorise a woman with an ice cream.😬
We stayed at Hotel Moresco, first class, best place to eat,Al Grill.
Thanks for the video, very informative 👍
Lived here 5 months and plan to buy a property there. Such a stunning city!
Awesome video!
Love Venice though so Lenny looses…stayed there in 2001 at Luna Baglioni and will return with my son at some time.
Great video 👍👍👍
Great
Piece of work, very well done and lnformative.Regards McLeod
John
It's an amazing city, one of my favourites in Europe
Thanks it was awesome!
Great video, and all really truthful insight. Spent one night there a few weeks back and loved checking out the city with my fiancé (until a bad case of food poisoning struck). They really aren’t joking when everything is on the water, including the ambulances…..
Also felt very safe walking to the hospital in the wee hours of the night, albeit a little eerie. Would definitely recommend a visit, even if just for a day.
Lovely perspective Oisin!
(Laughed out loud at "winged rats"- that's what I call pigeons as well)
Great Video 👍
wonderful extensive tour thanks Ush! so fascinating. Quimper or Brittany for me Northern France was amazing and so historic and ancient with so much charm I was lucky to live it all summer long. $700 rent a month where you are no way man! that is literally insane! what a difference to NYC or lets Bermuda where everything is imported and super costly. Fantastico! Perfetto!
I loved this episode 👍❤️
Oisin what an epic video, you need Lenny on more 😂👍
Visiting there in May all the way from Tennessee. Can't wait
EXCELLENT Irish! Can't wait for the episodes (PLURAL) on the women of Venice ! 😎 "while I finish on ur feathers" (LMFAO!) almost as good as Dirks "fraudu mar" line.... appreciate u Sir!
Wow. This was truly wonderful. Visited as a tourist years back with kids and friends and hated it. Big cameras everywhere and hot as hell. I am looking forward to returning with just my wife, and buying a nice watch.
What a great informative video. I spent several days there a few years ago and criss-crossed it by just walking. There are other great cities with a lot of history in Europe too but the traffic there related to cars can get really annoying. Never been in another city in Europe where just ignoring the modern clothes brought me so much a few centuries back.
Thank you! I’ll be in Venice at the end of the month. Yippee 🥳 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
So soothing. I see Nico taking a photo of a 36mm bicolor Daytona in his Zuppa di Cozze on Piazza San Marco. In the back, Oisin and the Contatore del Tempo holding hands discussing the offerings in the Hublot boutique. Inside, a familiar looking French woman presenting her Hublots to Adrian Barker. Then I fell asleep.
love this town.. worth the visit. we are susbscribed
Great video. I think I would enjoy living in Venice.
Nicely done my man.
Ahahahahahahah😂😂😂 the end Lenny for president😅😅😅
Great video , really interesting
Bravo. Well done
9. Everywhere I went in Italy, when I asked the locals about whichever town I planned to visit next, they bad mouthed it. My theory was that they wanted me to stay and spend my Money in their town.
loved this subscribed
I just arrived today!! Exploring as we speak.
I’m on my way there tomorrow!
How was it? I have a few questions.
Really wonderful place to live , love these walkabout vids ,, keep up the good work,, finally your thoughts on the tudor pelagos 39?
We missed you Oisin last week, we got there late due to our flight and it took us a while to figure out the water buses and the water taxis .
our Hotel was the San Sta stop which was on the other side .
Lugging 3 suitcases up and down the bridges and maneuvering the area was like a labyrinth.
Venice was fine for the short time we were there but I had a major problem with my carrier from Greece Vodafone and I didn’t have any signal until I called customer support .
Our hotel was good and looked to be at least 18th century .
Oisin is right on when he said it’s clean .
They have green boats that are trash boats that have a device that they get the trash and takes the trash to a location by the parking garages to have them taken away .
Our short stay in Venice was still great even though we couldn’t communicate .
I have your bottle of the good stuff Oisin .
Message me so we can get it to you .
All in all food was great and it just takes some time and being patient learning the water system and what stops to get off on .
Piazza San Marco was just like Oisin’s photos and Videos .
Amazing .
Oh and yes the Hotels right there at Piazza San Marco will set you back quite a bit for Dinner .
Take your time and check out the local places .
Great Northern Italian fare .
Great Venice review , we will be back next your again .
Awesome video 👏
Excellent insight
Loved this
Emmett is talented. What a catalogue you have to choose from!
Very funny and cool. Enjoyable all the way.
