C151B Has The Same Motor Sound To C751B(3rd North South Line/East West Line SMRT In 2000)/C151A(4th North South Line/East West Line SMRT In 2011)C651/C151A/C151B Are My Best Trains Ever On The SMRT North South Line/East West Line).
xavier Wee CBTC and c151b will be on full force starting from 28th of May 2017. 27th of May will be the last day of the Fixed Block system to be operational
JustRichard Go in one train carriage. After that go to the end of that one carriage only, not the wholw train. After you reach, depending where its either top right or left, you will see 4 numbers. For example, 3623. Ignore the number in the front, the last 3 number is the set number, 623. However, odd number is the first set. The second set would normally be 624. Hence getting the set number 623/624
Nigel Loke yeah same.. between 2013 to 2016 I took trains like less than 10 times due to buying bus concession only.. now no more student card so start to take train.
Because they use GTO based motors GTO Chopper for the C151s and GTO VVVF for the C651s. Btw, other than APM no other manufacturer will use a GTO based system as it consumes more power. Also, the C151s and C651s have what is known as a flat-face front which was very popular back in the days especially in Japan, that's why the C151s had them. Then when the C651s were ordered they most likely just transferred major characterics from the C151 to the C651 to make it look more standardized. Now, train manufacturers are looking for more sleek designs in order to save energy.
