Thanks for the video man. Just completed the hitch and wiring on my trailhawk and confirmed everything is working as intended. I’m not going to lie it was a grueling process that took me multiple days but still your video made it manageable. Most difficult part for me was getting the wire through the grommet from the engine bay. A little lubricant did the trick after reading someone elses comment here, but man that grommet is going to give me nightmares for years.

Whew! I finally figured out how to get to the metal where you mount the mystery device (cpu?). You have to pull up on a carpeted board behind the back seats to remove it and pray you don’t break anything-and then unscrew 2 T15s to remove a plastic cover concealing the mount location. (2019 Cherokee Upland)
Curious if other people found when navigating through the front firewall grommet situation that on both the engine side as well as the interior side the grommet is actually taped to the main wiring harness so there is no clean way to feed the wire through the opening without either untaping the grommet(which would be really challenging on the engine side) or simply just making a new hole through the rubber grommet. Did you simply create another hole in the rubber grommet and leave everything taped up? Im guesing a new hole and maybe that is why they picture using a coat hanger so it has an end that would be easier to make an additional hole. I have a 2020 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk.

Everything is installed! A few minor differences with the car models. Used vicks vaporub (had no petroleum jelly) to lube the wire pull through the gasket from the engine. No white and green wire in the corner for me under the dash in the box thingy. I did try the two green and white wires elsewhere in the box. There is no fuse in the distribution box in the engine and no contacts to receive a fuse in the tow light slot anyway! No trailer lights for me yet. May have the dealer look at - but still cheaper than a total install.

Zero. The wiring was honestly easier than doing the hitch on this model. The hitch was less mental labor but more physical. Just take your time and watch it step by step because the directions are not clear and sometimes wrong.
I was wondering if you remember what torque you did on the 6 main bolts for the hitch? The book it comes with says 165nm for trailhawk which I don’t have.
I wish I had the sliding rear seat when i did this. I did this on my 19 Limited when I installed the hitch, and that fixed rear seat was the biggest PITA. I never got those rear panels to fit back properly mostly because those screws fell into Narnia.
Spoke to Jeep Dealer Yesterday, they said the cable had to be tied into some kind of module under the hood. And needed to be programmed to recognize the wires and make the lights and everything work from the back to the front.. Cost just for the programming was going to be $170 even though I said I was able to wire everything up to under the hood.. (taking the knowledge from your video and a couple others.) Said also that even if I was to go get the U-Haul hitch and wiring installed that I would still need to come to the dealer in order for their work to be completed.. Anyone know anything about this?

Do not break those clips! Lol Also, mine has a small hole/nipple above the grommet. If you run fiberglass rod from the inside out you can have a second person attach the wires and run back into the cabin. Using Vaseline helped.
