As the daughter of a former pediatrician and nurse, I am Very concerned about the changes in our doctor-patient relationships. If doctors no longer physically see their patients in person and physically touch their bodies to examine them.. so much can be missed, and greater harm can come to patients via this neglect. I worry that even cause of death is Missed due to this Failure to do “hands on exams and up to date health histories on patients.

I send my patients home with basically a McDougall diet flyer lol. We do have two Cardiologists that are Vegan. But we also have one Cardiologist that does modified Keto. I have found that the Peripheral Vascular Surgeons have the worst attitude towards a whole food plant based diet. Very few Internists know how to reverse type 2 diabetes, and they think know everything so its hard to engage them on this conversation especially from a Urologist.

I would recommend you research carnviore diet and see how this elimination diet is healing everything and getting people off their RX drugs. Carnviore heals depression, anxiety, obesity, type 2 diabetes, mood swings, brain issues, brain fog, etc etc etc it's a longgg list.
channel Dr Sean omara is 60 and has a body like a 20 year old eating carnviore, fremented veggies and sprinting.
channel Home stead how (he lost 100 pounds, got rid of his depression & rx drugs), shawn baker md podcast, steak and butter gal (she was a sick vegan for 6 years switched to carnviore and healed), kelly hogan, dr chaffee, nutrition with judy (seh was a sick vegan for 12 years then healed on the carnivore diet) dr ken berry, dante freedom carnivore (he lost 90 pounds & got off all rx drugs his transformation is amazing)
look at the mcdogals who look sick then look at the doctors above who look healthy. carnviore heals...vegan does not long term.
seriously look into carnviore diet. worth your time.

On the McDougall diet, I developed tingling in my hands and feet. I didn't get tested as I figured there was a simple enough test. Get a liquid supplement which has 1,000 mcg of B12' plus normal amounts of other B vitamins. Since B12 is stored by the body every three months or so. I take a dose of this liquid. The tingling ceased. I just don't absorb it well and have been tested in the past and found to be deficient. Mostly during pregnancy and nursing. Other times too when my diet was limited due to poverty. I just took a dose since I knew it had been a while since I took a dose. By the way if you are busy and need a quick vegan soup mix. Buy dehydrated vegetable soup mix, add dehydrated bean flakes, and instant brown rice. Any seasoning you like as an extra add in. I make up the base in bulk and extra veggie bouillon or fresh veggies or spices. It takes a1)2 part ratio of of mix to water. I also like to add some toasted croutons to absorb the extra liquid which also boosts the starch. That was my dinner. A simple solution when you don't feel like cooking. Or I have the starch of my choice and a vegetable smoothie. Usually air fried chunked up potatoes

It is a disservice to make blanket statements that arterial dissections are caused by diet. Yes, some are. There are however, many other know causes. Here are a few: heritable connective tissue disorders (Ehlers Danlos, eg), fibromuscular dysplasia, Marfan Syndrome, some types of polycystic kidney disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, oral contraceptives, pregnancy, blunt trauma, congenital aortic valve abnormalities, various autoimmune diseases and vasculitis (many causes, including Lyme vasculitis). One can add smoking and hypertension to the list and the later is certainly diet related. Vascular experts believe most dissections are caused by an underlying vulnerability that may be inherited.

So if there is a genetic disposition wouldn't it be the best course of action to follow a healthy diet so the genes do not "switch on"? Wouldn't it be more important for these conditions to avoid cancer causing foods in your daily meals?

According to DR Fuhrman nutritional excellence easily overcomes genetic predispositions.

I used to be anemic. I'm not now. My diet is only fruit and vegetables. Mostly raw .. some cooked though. Although I find if I eat cooked I'm bloated. I also have foot fungus which is getting better after a year on this way of eating.

Dr. McDougall is walking encyclopedia. His memory is so great at 77y.o. I am so happy that I found him, and he shares his knowledge with us. I am really thankfull, because I searched for many years what to eat to not constantly gain weight. All the fad diets are just so vague and not working at all. Once I started to follow Dr. McDougall advice I lost some weight, and my weight stabilized. Now I don't worry about my weight because I know that if it goes up, it will go down as well. Thank you Dr. McDougall.
