I was only in Los Angeles for a short time, but it was a great time! Great survey. I'll have stop back and give it more serious look. All these artists seem to have similar palette and abstract and/or surreal style though each one leaves their own mark. Back in your neck of the woods there's a stunning show of "black" based paintings by Raymond Saunders at Andrews Kreps who was doing some really compelling work in the 60's, 70s, 80's.

Around 5:00 my son and I were admiring the piece and he said "it looks like God" 😮 he's always surprising me with his interpretations. Perhaps he was actually listening to the narrator, which is pretty good for a 4 year old 🤣

Loved the folded watercolours and ripped poster esque ones especially.
Always thought the 'poster pasters' in cities are pretty good collage artists, most probably vacantly tearing them down making pretty cool pieces. Especially when in a portrait triptych.

Another very well shot and narrated tour. Thanks for sharing and these are some of the best artworks I have seen lately. One thing is I wish the artists would say less about their inspiration as it often to me has very little to do with the visual images presented. They are visual artist, not writers right? I suspect if you ask folks in the gallery they would not for example say, oh these remind me of embroidery. Cheers-Greg
