These videos always bring me joy, but this one being a sneeze away from the school I teach a a few art classes at is so heart warming. I love this area!
I saw all of these last week while on a gallery tour, and hearing you describe them in more detail is wonderful. I didn’t have a chance to sit with everything because we were moving so fast. Thank you.
Hernan Bas rocked my world. Gorgeous works, eerie and mesmerizing. For conceptual work, it is certainly well concealed. While working on my masters we older students were entertained by the freshmen coming in who called themselves "conceptual" artists. Our favorite analogy of them was , Those who "cant", teach. Seth Price's comment about the tools of the moment and the tools of time...absolutely brilliant, and hits home for me. Thanks for taking us on the tour. Ps. It's sad that the majority of people , worldwide, don't view art as what we've seen here as "good " , let alone as art. Instead they call Thomas Kincaid a great artist. Ironic.
Hello Mary Lynn! Of course, I subscribed! Your walk through the galleries of NY and your concise and intelligent explanations delight these videos. Unlike Instagram reels, where everything happens very quickly, I could appreciate each work in its environment, general assembly, and details. The editing is excellent and allows you to see everything without haste but without excesses. The background music is pleasant because it does not overwhelm or distract. I was already familiar with several artists' work, such as Bradford, Brown, and others, but had never been "inside" the gallery spaces. By the way, several of the leading contemporary art galleries are in that area. Thank you very much for doing this work of diffusion and knowledge with such care, dedication, and love for art. I'm a new fan of yours!
The energy and fine use of materials in the Bradford's coming across well in this video, the close up shots giving us lots of information. A painter's depiction of conceptual artists now that's an interesting take: though exclusively masculine? To redress matters Cecily Brown omg.
So very happy that you show the art many of us can not see. Thanks!
I find your gallery tour very moving.
Thank you .

Gorgeous❣, nice artwork, and steadicam too👍
Mark Bradford's show is stunning!
Good video. Newer, fresher work I've not seen before. A lot of the Mark Bradford work displays deep textural effort, lots of engaging visual detail :)

Wow I need an art gallery like the first gallery in this review. I need to have my own here in Jamaica.
