Writing step 2: Key issues. Jale Thompson: Identifying relevant case notes.
My learning experience points are
1. Select relevant information and exclude irrelevant information.
2. We should know to whom we are writing the letter
3. We must know the main health issues to select the relevant information.
4. In This step we need to practice at least 15 to 20 case notes
5. From the case notes Identify the main issues
6. Circle the Synonyms and synonyms language
7. Select the separate information under three paragraphs based on health issues, other information and recommendation para.
8. Exclude which is not related to the writer.
9. Repeated information not to add
10. Simi relevant information write then we are not penalized
11. If we have Irrelevant information then we are finalized
12. Request para it includes 2 segments. Information and request.
Jake Thomson
-In this task, the information is segregated according to health issues, other important information and Recommendations.
There are 2 health issues in this task.
Para 1 right knee issues
-Status post right total knee surgery
-Moderate swelling of right knee w. fluid build-up.
-Right knee: progressive, severe pain.
-Right total knee surgery
-Moderate swelling around the knee treated with ice packs
Para 2 mobility health issues.
-Impaired mobility and self-care activities
-Supervised level for bed mobility/ modified independent level
for functional transfer.
-Can ambulate< 100 meters with a front-wheel walker
Para 3 Other important information
-Postoperative anaemia
-Arixtra was prescribed during hospitalization and discontinued just before discharge.
-Prescription painkillers and thyroid support 60 mg daily and multiple supplements
Para 4 recommendation para
-Patient discharged to home w. family assistance.
-Needs acute, comprehensive rehabilitation
-The patient has a front-wheel walker.

First and most important task is how to identity relevant data and irrelevant data
Identity the Synonymous of key issues
If writing the letter all relevant data is included, if any relevant data is missing we will be peanalise
If any irrelevant data is added in the letter we will be peanalise.
Semi relevant data is added if any word short shortage in the letter we will not peanalise
So we practicing 10 - 15 case note and segregate the relevant data/ irrelevant data/ Semi relevant data then we thorough with that.

1.identify the key issue
2.look for its synonyms and synonymous language
Synonyms=different words having the same meaning
Synonymous =adjectives of a word
3.Underline and segregate all of it according to relevant, semi_relevant and irrelevant basis.
Relevant =exactly what the writer needs
Semi_relevant =you may not need,but can use when shortage of word count, it will not be penalised by oet officials
Irrelevant =out_dated [already action over,problem solved],repeated,and not at all important for the reader to get know.
4.practice with 10_15 letters to improve confidence.

@@@ first and foremost task is identifying the relevant and exclude the irrelevant data to be thorough to dothis atleast 10 _ 15 case you will be practicing identifying the issues then go on circling all the synonyms or synonymous expressions.
If including irerelevant data in your letter may be u will be penalized including semi relevant data you will not be penalized. When shortage of the words u can think of semi relevant data...relevant data and the synonymous of relevant information of the reader is most important steps in the oet letter..
