Absolutely Adorable! I recently lost my Shih Tzu of 17 years, and let me tell you that THAT was one of the hardest to deal with! times in my life. I miss him so much!
Lost our shih Tzu Chi Chi November 2021 17 years old she was very sweet and loving to everyone. Got us through the darkness days of the pandemic. Would have been a lot harder without her.

My girl just turned 7 as well. I love her. I love this breed, although they are high maintenance, which takes a lot of time. These dogs are precious angels deserving to be treated like royalty. I would love to get another Tzu but my dig does not share.

Also, have you ever tried getting her ears cleaned? I heard that after the groomers they can have water droplets left in the ear (if they are not dried properly), which helps to clog up wax so they can't hear. Wondering if cleaning works if you've tried it?

@@Rosenrot516 I would say avoid feeding the dog junk food and if you give him/her human food feed only healthy stuff like sweet potatoes, chicken and rice, etc. and lots and lots of love! I pet her a lot and say how much I love her everyday. I like to think that she understands and knows and that's why she wakes up every morning for as long as she has :)
For the ears, my dog was unfortunately very prone to ear infections bc my mother washed her a lot. I made sure to gently blow dry her ears after though. And if she did get an infection I would add these ear medications prescribed by the doctor :/ that helped every single time she got ear infections. Now she never has them since I make sure to wash her. Also I watched that plucking and trimming inside the ear hair helps with preventing infections!

Over 15 years I bred and sold 37. We only kept 9. Sadly my last lil fella, Stevie died last year the day after Easter. Never has this house been so quiet. Those were the best years of my life !!!!
I just lost my shih tzu yesterday... his name was Bori... I put posters of him I hope somebody contacts so we can find him... I’ve been crying all night. HES SPECIAL. He’s nice he never barks he never bites he licks people.. 😭😭

My dad is allergic to dogs, but my next door neighbor and BEST BEST BEST friend has a shitzhu puppy and she knows I love them and she lets me play with Maia (her name) and walk her and pet her whenever I want. I wish I had one myself, they're so adorable

My Shih Tzu was a rescue. He was in a very bad situation. A friend gave him to me for my birthday. He was somewhere around 2 years old. He was with me 17 years. He's been gone almost 2 years now. He took my heart with him to heaven.
My 15 year old shih tzu Max was supposed to be put down July 23rd, but I officially adopted him a while back, he's super healthy now, and the vet cancelled the appointment! He's doing better than he was a couple years ago! My Sophie passed at 16. I believe in adopt, don't shop 100%, but I love shih tzus so much, I'd love to find a rescue shih tzu when the time comes!!!!

None like a ShihTzu, they are my favorite breed. Had one over 18 years, she crossed the rainbow bridge over 6 years ago and I still miss her. Loved her so much, was so hard to see her go.

I have a 4 month old Shih Tzu! Before I had another one named Lucky. She was a female and we found in the rain infront of the door. She was cold outside in the rain and she looked like she hadn't eaten in days so we took her in. After some months, she had gotten sick and passed away. I will always remember her!
I lost my shih tzu chee chee 2 days ago is what brought me here. He was on his 13th year. He was my greatest friend and slept with me every single night. Here I am 4:30 in the morning wishing I had my friend so I can sleep. He died from cancer. Cherish your time with your dog because it will eventually come to an end.

You aren’t kidding. I have owned 3 and they saved my life. They are demanding so you can’t just lay down and die during a crisis. They know when they need to help. Like coming up crawling to nibble your ear when your down. I don’t think I could have made it without them.They helped me through my parents death, a bad divorce and helped me though a major back surgery. They are my life. We need each other.
What beautiful little pups you had. I've always wanted a black and white one. Right now I have 2 Shih Tzu but I've had up to 7 at one time. My two girls are a 3.5 lb gold and white with black mask and tips and a black 7 lb miniature. I've always had and trained big dogs but these guys turned out to be so great. Not yappy, easy to train, quiet and/or playful. A lot of work to keep their coats up so if someone isn't a hair breed lover maybe not the right dog for them. One small thing, the plural of Shih Tzu is Shih Tzu as in I have one Shih Tzu or I have 20 Shih Tzu.

They are a stocky loving breed. Great for families and people with allergies. I would never pick any other breed over theres. Mine has given me a million smiles and laughs. Highest possible recommendation if you are looking for a small dog.

I adopted my Henry when he was years old. I have never an animal so much nor had I thought too much about Shih Tzu's but but they are only ones I'll ever have again. Henry will be 17 soon. He doesn't hear well and has cataracts. But I wouldn't trade him for the world.
