I failed to mention a few things...
Herding also gives a damage resistance buff to ALL creatures as long as they are currently focused on a target.
Eldritch Mephits ALSO have an ability to reduce the MR of a creature. The reason we are chosing these pets specifically is for an increase in our own spell damage. Its ok to switch out one or two of the Mephits for another Mephit since there are multiple.
The wiz grimoire I take Create Food/Cure/Greater Heal/Curse/Flamestrike - this leaves a few points to play with. - You may end up switching out cure for mana drain if you need to get to the 50% mana refund cap - cure is another option to switch out if your not fighting poisoning creatures.
PS. Inscription might be a 3rd option for the final 60 points too for longer duration bless and then you could bless yourself and pets. (I really like the taste tho)

It wold be cool to get information on the lower rank pets that are good to use starting out. I was using colossal frogs and cave bears from the shelter dungeon. However I got some corpse eaters and a scorpion yesterday. I do not know if the corpse eater diseases stack, I am sure the scorpion poison will stack with the disease. Is there any benefit to having multiple corpse eaters? Plus I also just found out focus aggression was a thing. Thanks for the videos!
If new should make a different character to farm up some gold like a miner and sell some ingots so you can get your scrolls to 105. Other than that if you are following the tamer guide that can be found on the discord or the forums or with google, you can run the script in said locations and level taming naked with some bandages to 100. No reason really to stop at a lower taming level and try to farm with bad pets. If you read about the passive gains, you can GM taming in a single play session, but if completely new and first time might take a little longer to figure it all out.

I've been leveling a mage/tamer for the last couple weeks! I just have vet instead of tasteid/120 skills. I don't know how i'd do it w/o it honestly. Maybe once I get stronger and can afford some aspect stuff. I found a command aspect starter kit for 380k. Oooof!
Yeah until you got those codex points in beastiary you spend more time chain healing your pets with vet than you do doing damage yourself, stop to do damage yourself and your pets die. :\ Once you got 20 points in beastiary and level 10 pets and always use a tank pet (or a hybrid pet that can also tank) it gets slightly better but still you'd feel handicapped without it still at that point.

Maybe this isn't the place to ask but I am struggling with the outlands market. I find the lyric aspect materials I need and go to the vendor but the vendor never has them. What is going on?
That website is ran by a player and he uses a few characters to recall around and scan. It is typically a few hours behind real time.
Make sure you use the discord buy and sell channels as well!

Personal preference on Tank though I prefer a gravebug over a lemura. Now that may come down to the fact that I managed to tame a S tier gravebug and I've only managed to get perhaps a B grade lemura but I find my healing input on the bug far lower once I have a stack of corpses. That said, like I mentioned in last video. I have Vet in my build so I rarely cast heal on my pets as It is easier for me to throw a couple big heals with bandages or heal everything with vet supplies. I think this just comes down to personal playstyle though.
the bandaid heals are hard to leave from for me until i get my command book higher level.
@@daledozerx2920 yea I only recently hit command 10, so I'm just now starting to notice I need heals less. It might be a case where my build is better in lower aspects but once you start getting 10+ this becomes better. I'll be creating an echo to give it a spin for certain.
is tracking a good replacement for eval? Im terrible at pvp and pk avoidance has always been somethting i build towards

fret not, adventurer. you are not bad at pvp. you are just not running superior/faster auto scripts :P back in the day we used to have to manually do everything!
I’m starting a tamer as my first character which is turning to actually be kinda brutal it seems like Bulls and great harts have been lowered from vanilla in this server. I can only find info about dungeons to skill my taming. But taming is all I have right now. Taming is 73 animal lore and veterinary are in the 70’s I’m training bard skills to survive in the dungeons. I played during renaissance, veterinary was the preferred health method. Why no vet?
Magery is just so expensive with no way to farm gold. I’m using bandaids for me and my pets. I’m wondering is magery a must have? Seems like eventually I may swap to a mage when I can make gold.
My character is two days old.
Hey Neal, Outlands in almost completely different from regular UO - taming will feel very underwhelmed until you reach like 110 or 120 and get your beastiary and aspect up. I remember getting to GM taming, getting a dragon and a drake combo and having them die to an untamed drake... Now that i'm 120 with aspect and the bestiary it's a different story! Truth be told, I mainly play on a "scavenger" character and cause problems in Shadow Spire Cathedral. VERY LOW start cost and I can pull in close to 100k an hour by looting bodies.
@@ChaoticNeutralAnimation well I’m doing ok with veterinary. Even in vanilla animals had to be used and would gain strength from fighting. I remember my first dragon in vanilla got smoked by an elder gazer. However by the end of it I had dragons that killed much harder things
@@nealrobinson1571 the other problem with vet it seems is creatures here deploy AOEs and if you are standing next to your pets to heal them you can get hit hard by them. People seem to prefer to heal from a distance. Too bad we don't have heal bombs we can toss at 100 vet. >:) I'm new here as well. My taming is at 112 and lore is 114. Very expensive to buy skill scrolls. I needs some tips to make 100k an hour looting bodies!
Being as new as you are Vet is a solid option! Your a tough sob to be doing a tamer as a first character!
You'll end up switching it out eventually id imagine.
I have heard of one other person using both though so maybe not! The beauty of this game is no man's word is law and everyone gets to play how they want :)
Magery really does heal just fine though especially once you get the grimoire up w gheal! You can also take the mender trait on your pets that helps a ton.
@@PwnstarrGaming that's so true. I recently dropped vet and am healing with magery. My magery is only 84 and I used it to rez my pets as well. I also have music100. Peace100 and discord100. I'm torn what to do at this point because my play style is bard tamer but it spreads my points out too thin. Need to make a decision soon.

I’m confused about the skills you have seven skills listed but not all of them 100. You have a total skill points of 720. So if the scrolls allow your skills surpass 100 but also add to your total skill cap why not GM 7 skills?
Overall cap is 720, you can reach it with 20 skill orbs. You cant go higher 😊
He is using the full 720 skill points, the benefits of having the 3 taming skills at 120 vs having 100 taste id is overall better.

Yo it really does seem like Outland hates tamers. It’s bar none the most difficult skill to raise. Even putting back in the classic way of taming another persons released tame becomes more difficult but rewarding would be fine.
you can macro a tamer pretty quickly the entire thing is macroable but if you want it to go faster take advantage of the passives each time its full in between macroing.

this is a custom VERY POPULAR shard. Some will take vet; but its not necessary if you have magery.

yes its feasible. no its not going to be the most efficient way to build your first char.
Command Cores
Animal Lore/Taming Skill Scrolls are very costly
But! its do-able! I started mine way earlier than I should have. Was a lot of grinding for another command core or skill scroll while capped . felt rewarding though!

Its not really.
Regs are expensive and so are command cores.
Its very doable. Just gonna be slow progression.
If you can stomach harvesting iron/lumber for a few nights a week you'll be fine though!
@@PwnstarrGaming Thanks - I actualy tried to have some easy start, but stil avoid Bard :D. Warrior is nice, but I really like idea of taming and magic in this game. Cheers for all the advices and videos, really like the channel
