    Update

    • @ThrashTestDummies
      @ThrashTestDummies  5 месяцев назад

      I will be uploading content to a different RUclips channel for reasons concerning optimization. The main focus will be working with the vulcan line for the foreseeable future. I just got a 4 axis cnc machine and plan to build custom engine and cosmetic parts as well as focusing on performance and handling of these bikes. I have designs for pistons, cams, rocker arms, etc. as well as several other things to drastically change the appearance of the vulcans and give them more of an aggressive modern look. Even down to a chain drive conversion. Once the channel is up I will post it under your comment here since I have pinned it to the top.

      I will be publishing another video of this bike very soon. This time I'll tackle the foot controls, tidy up the body lines, build a 2 into 1 exhaust, and a few other fabrication based endeavors. In that same video I'll finally get it started for the first time in 2 years as well. So if you like this build there is much MUCH more to come. It's definitely something you'll want to see.
      Thanks for the love!

    Had a VN800a that I did the same thing to. Turned out pretty sweet in my opinion. Wanted something bigger so I just sold the 800 and bought a 1600 nomad

      I have an 800 as well. I'm thinking of doing a lowrider style build with it. Should be pretty dope. The vulcan models are all awesome bikes though. And there's one for any purpose. Thanks for watching!

    Waiting for Part 2 💪

    • @ThrashTestDummies
      @ThrashTestDummies  2 года назад

      Part 2 will be coming soon. Along with the rest of the build videos. I build and paint (mostly paint) custom bikes for a living. So I have to make videos like this when I don't have customer bikes to work on. I should be caught up by next week though and this vulcan will be right back in my shop.
      Part 2 will consist of building a 2 into 1 exhaust, fabricating the foot controls, tidying up the fairing and other body lines, and a few other fabrication based things. Then at the end of the video I will see if I can get it started for the first time in 2 years and go through the proper procedures for getting a bike to start that has been sitting that long.
      Past part 2 will be cool stuff. Modifying the internal engine components, tricks to get more power or responsiveness out of a motorcycle engine (past just adding pipes and air cleaner), installing gauges, and doing some pretty cool stuff with wiring. Among other cosmetic things like making lexan windows in the side covers, putting sequential front turn signals under the paint in the fairing, and making an edge lit windshield with a design that glows in the windshield itself.
      So if you like all that and much more and want to see how it's done then stay tuned. I've got big plans for this one 🤘

    • @ThrashTestDummies
      @ThrashTestDummies  2 года назад +1

      Lol. Soon man. I'm working on knocking out some customer work I'm backed up on. Then the vulcan will go right back on the lift. But if you're starting with one of the 88's you already have an advantage with the motor and body. Should be a pretty cool build. Send pics or video and I'll throw it in my part 2. Thanks for the love!

      @@ThrashTestDummies for sure! I just road it to Gatlinburg and took all backroads, was 7 hours😂 went to head to Nashville and took the parkway and I fucked something up in it. @ThrashTestDummies  2 года назад

      Sweet man I'm glad you liked the video. I will be putting the vulcan back on the lift late this week to make club style parts for these bikes. Basically the same parts as I manufacture for the dyna like t bars, crash bars with sliders, rear shock mount sliders, etc. as well as things like peg mounts and 2 into 1 exhausts. So keep an eye out if you're wanting to take yours that direction.
      And I'm in Denham springs near the bass pro. DM the channel page on Instagram and I'll give you some contact info. We boiling a couple sacks today though so I may not get back with you until sunday.

    When you said the shocks were junk did that mean they were shot or the stock shocks in good condition are considered junk compared to progressive?

    • @ThrashTestDummies
      @ThrashTestDummies  2 года назад

      In this case I was talking about the ones on this bike in particular. Although the stock shocks aren't really all that good even when working properly. Most people don't notice how much better comfort and handling can be until they get aftermarket suspension.

    What kind of front forks are those? The Vulcans I see in my area have fat front forks

    • @ThrashTestDummies
      @ThrashTestDummies  2 года назад +1

      These forks are off of an 04 or 05 Vulcan 1500 classic. The "fat" front forks you are referring to are likely just the chrome fork covers above the fork sliders and between the triple trees. These can be easily removed though.

    My 1500 has 14inch mx bars that’s about it 😂😂😂 sad that nobody makes decent parts for metric bikes. Everything has skulls and spikes on it one other thing there’s times where I would rather ride the Vulcan then my dyna and I still have not done a oil change on my Vulcan in the 2 years I’ve had it 😂😂😂
