Your passion for the gear you make Luke is great. Saving my pennies to get one of these to replace a Burke & Wills swag that has served me well for the last 15 years.
Thats a brilliant looking swag! Just what im looking for me and my son to do more simple camping. Roll these out under a 3x3 tarp shelter and a little fire out front, simple is best!!
Bloody hell this bloke would have some stories to tell around a fire, After 10 years of having canvas on my face I doubt I’ll go back to it but great work non the less
Good to watch another episode Luke like to hear your stories of what you did as a young fella it looked awesome we just had three months travelling Australia in our swags it's a pitty you guys didn't Make a big daddy because it would be made with way better quality👍
The Bunker is the best camping sleep system ever! I've spent 7 weeks in the last 18 months cod fishing at Copeton dam and Burrinjuck most of the time in sub zero temperatures in my bunker and the only thing that could improve it would be your swag.
I really like your products. Well designed, thought out and tested. Please come to the USA. There would be a large market here for your items. To be honest I like the concept of a swag, but I’d be a bit hesitant to use one with bears and wolves around in the USA.
Looks Good Luke. It might just be me (?) but I love sleeping with my feet outside or sleeping on my back with my feet out. I find in the sleeping bags I use that I like to have the bottom open. I own a sleeping bag that has a zip down one side and it has another zip along the bottom, so you can open the end of it. It provides more room to have your feet sticking out. I like the layout of both zip designs, but would probably prefer the dual side zip and a third zip at the end for your feet ;-) . That way you can have it zipped up if its cold or just a bit open of you want, or all the way open if it is too hot. The dual zip design is good for our use as we use a stretcher and the oztent, and it would mean you can place the swag on either side of the tent and still get into it.
When you get a chance Luke ,try a Hennessy Hammock. Come with a fly attached. Couple of anchor points (trees, bullbars etc) 5 metres apart. figure 8 lashing to each anchor point. Climb in .Head to right ,feet to left. Best sleep you'll ever have. Bug net incorporated too. Under quilt in place under the hammock body and you'll be toasty warm in sub zero temperatures
Thanks for the informative video, Luke and Swag’s review. Thank you very much for the photo from your personal archive! Shake your hand, mate! Good luck!
Love the old swags and ofcourse the XXX sign :-) Swags are too bulky for me though, prefer my hammock or the bivy bag and tarp, well for the stealth camping here in the netherlands that is but for you guys it`s part of your heritage i guess :-)
The biggest downside of a swag seems to be that there is no interior headroom for sheltering inside during bad weather. Do most Australians use these in conjunction with an awning for some additional shelter you can stand under? I know that Australia is a huge country/ continent with different weather patterns, but does in rain/ snow much there? I’m in Minnesota, USA which is infamous for hot humid summers with lots of bugs and dry bitterly cold winters with snow and wind. I like the idea of a swag tent, but a little concerned about the lack of interior room to shelter in if the weather is bad. Any thoughts on this?
woolengrappler a swag isn’t a tent : ) it’s bedroll. So , yeah we would use inside a tent, on a stretcher under an awning, or if the weather is clear, on the ground on a groundsheet.. the swag has your mattress, blankets, sheets, pillow etc, all rolled up in one protected canvas wrap.. : ) L
I want one of these, but I'm a big guy at 185cm/105kg. I see you have a longer model on the website, which is great. Any chance of making a wider one too?
Hi mate, yeah email jess@drifta.com.au . We making a longer and wider version atm.. so jess can help you with that, can get one before they go on the web.. think we getting mattress’s this week.. : ) L

Now imagine if uniflame did a stretcher with a back rest along the long side and you'd have a three seater, super comfy couch as well!
Meant to also say, the audio is much better now that you guys are using a wireless mic
Thanks mate, was always using a wireless mic since day dot, but have got a better mic on the camera, huge RODE with dead cat :)
