    Have you made a video or comments regarding the BEQ community? These guys are boosting the Sh*t out of the 5-20hz range in most movies. looks like older ones really need it (Alien, 2001 space odyssey etc.)

    I want to use this amp and software with a pair of Danley DTS10's. Best I know, the cabinet is tuned to 12hz. Will this same technique work? I haven't ordered the amp yet, and don't want to give up digging that low. Maybe a better option is the non-dsp version of the amp mated to a mini-dsp? I'm sure it is, but I'm trying to avoid the added complexity. Thanks so much.

    Hi there. Great videos! So I’m using the nx1000d. Ill be running 2 separate 4ohm subs tuned to 20hz. How would I change the settings from what you explained here to accommodate 2 subs instead?

  • @specialformula14
    @specialformula14 2 года назад +1

    People really need to start building there own sub boxes. And specifically tuned boxes. I run 4 subs. 2 boxes 12” subs tuned at peak db 74hz. And 2 boxes 12” tuned peak at 32hz for lows.
    Then you won’t lack bass in highs or lows.
    It’s really the best of both worlds.
    Trying to make a speaker that’s tuned high play lows is just foolish. Or flipped the other way around.
    Let me know what you think.

    Hi HT Gurus, thanks for all the informative videos! I was planning on powering 2 DIY subwoofers with a Crown XLS 1002, which comes with a hardcoded Low-Pass filter. Crown Audio was quoted saying "There is an undefeatable 20Hz at 6dB / oct roll off HP designed in."
    Do you know how I can model this filter into WinISD? I assume I use... FilterType=Lowpass, Subtype=?, Order=?, Q=?, and Cutoff=20Hz
    I just wanted to see if this was enough to protect my driver, or if I need to add another one.

    Hey great detailed video! So can I use the same setting you entered for a Behringer nx6000d with dsp. Just as a reference point to get my subs going? I’m using 2 Dayton audio ultimax 18s. I don’t want to connect my speakers with high frequency and ruin the new subs. The subs will be in a sealed box. Thanks for the content any info or suggestions will be appreciated thanks.

    On a Behringer NX6000 (non dsp) running 2 Marty cubes with Dayton UM-18's how would you set the rear crossover switch? Lf, full range, or Hp? This amp will run off of a mini dsp though none of it is set up yet. I ask just for initial setup? Thanks.

    • @hometheatergurus

      I'd use one 3000 and run a hammer on each channel. It's designed to use very little power to get quite loud as it's designed to have a linear response in the enclosure with no boosting needed.

    First off, I have just recently discovered your channel and am really enjoying the content. I'm a long time amateur speaker designer/builder with the emphasis on music/stereo. I was wondering where do you get source material with extension basically into the inaudible infrasonic region AKA below 20 Hz? That's turntable rumble territory for us two channel guys. I'm not doubting it's out there, but that was always one of the big benefits of CD and I thought most digital....band width of 20-20,000 Hz...no filter required to deal with bass reflex unloading. I'm just wondering what you use for a source. Learning lots of new stuff here!
    Hey, and I see you're from Lousy-ana close to the Red....Me too....S'port/Bossier area.

    When you say "tuned" you should talk about Thiele/Small resonant frequency, or Fs.

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  4 года назад

      Tuned is the correct terminology for setting a hpf. The fs (free air resonance) doesn't dictate where a driver is necessarily tuned btw. This sub for example is tuned well below the drivers Fs. For this video mentioning anything other than the enclosures tuning frequency is irrelevant. Feel free to check out the winisd video where we use the parameters to design the enclosure.

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  Год назад

      This video is to set a HPF which is at the bottom end. Your AVR will set the crossover to the speakers and the LFE filter. You don't filter the upper end in the Behringer unless it's to block noise.

    Is it possible to build subwoofer with a relatively small footprint (10”/12” woofer) that goes below 15hz and would something like this Behringer be able to power it? Thanks.

    • @troybakker7628
      @troybakker7628 Год назад

      if you make them isobaric and make a enclosure of like 80 liters in total excluding the wood and ports yes
      (it goes to 14,4 +/-1dhb so dip and peak in the frequenty response are 2db apart)
      problem is port noise might pccur below 20hz because at 101db at 20hz the wind in the air velocity in the port is 15m/s (so there is hearable port noise) at this volume level the drivers only take 128 watts (and this is with a 80cm long port (about 30 inches and about 3 inches in diameter)

    Im trying to figure out why i see guys buying dsp versions of amps like you? You have an external dsp? I must be missing something?

    • @hometheatergurus
      @hometheatergurus  Год назад +1

      Not sure but I rarely see that. Generally you see one or the other. It's possible some may buy an amp with dsp but then later want some features only on stand alone units. You'd have to find someone who has this and ask them but the likely have a valid reason.

  • @Puebow
    @Puebow 3 года назад

    Wondering if the NX3000Ds hz response is tailored to 20-20? Could this be why the response below is not notated. Just like a speaker an amp will need to work harder producing seemingly useless content below 20 hz robbing it of efficiency.
