We have a rusted catnic lintel, with some cracks, the house is 55 years old. Is it likely to get any worse? We have been here 20 years & haven’t seen any change.

Great video. Would red oxide do the same as the Krust?

Thanks, Red Oxide Primer is good for large areas and is a professional quality primer with excellent adhesion and rust inhibiting properties that prevent the spread of corrosion. Suitable for use on both interior and exterior ferrous metal surfaces. Heat Resistance: Can be used on heated surfaces up to 90ºC. Kurust Transforms rust to a sound surface in 15 minutes. Ready for the top coat in 3 hrs.

Did you seal the gap between the lintel and the mortar above? That is a No-No.

Mate get yourself some owatrol oil. You can put it straight onto the metal and mix it into your oil based paint. It works on metal and brickwork stone wood etc. Give it a go I promise you won't be disappointed
