I've been impressed by how Lasha lifts the bar in competition. It's like his hands become temporarily superglued to the bar. He makes it look so seemingly easy. As a female who grew up with older football and basketball watching brothers. When Lasha lifts I find myself saying to myself "It's up and it's good!" Also he was flipping that water bottle around like a little toy. And I know I've said it before but it's always a good day when WH uploads a video.
It's amazing how every time he's on camera Lasha's brother is with him. I'm sure that helps keep him completely relaxed and in good spirits no matter where he goes
I started doing CrossFit just by copying the pros online and learning the exercises they did on my own. I had already been introduced to weightlifting at the 2012 Olympics while working as a reporter. Then I devised one WOD after the other that were so hard I had to lie down afterwards just to breathe properly. Never heard of a PVC pipe approach before. It's a shame CrossFit has such a bad rep sometimes, because it really is hard to do, and if done right, a great addition to a natural bodybuilding routine.
That is for guys that have such a big belly that they can't open their hips without the assistance of the wait. All that does is get you into a better position to pull the weight off of the floor. It does nothing else whatsoever and I see a bunch of deadlifters but that abeli wasting their time moving the bar like that
Wish i knew more about this when i was active. Never liked the hook grip so i Never lifted with it.. Still managed to snatch 120kg with bw of about 81kg.. was known for having a very good technique and for lifts to ”look easy” even if i maxed. This explains alot 😂
I am a pianist and i worry using a hook grip could damage my thumb, is the no hook snatch a good permenant alternative or does not using hook grip directly damage my progress?
its moe for COUNTER-ROTATION as PLs do w/ alternate grip on DL ... the boost makes for a sudden 100ish% increase in force on the bar so that would allow the rotating sleeve bar to roll right out of the grip if not for the hkgr
I was thinking.... If height of pull depends on legs, and body weight is included in total weight legs accelerate... So if Lasha will loose 10 kg of bodyweight he can add 10 kg to a barbell. If not 10, 5 easily.... The rest is to make arms stronger to hold that bar...
@@NONO-hz4vo because the bar rotates and has an inertia . Without the hook you must hold it up with the fingers , the inertia takes you back . I just recall what I felt before and after I learnt the grip. So. Without the hook, the motility of the wrist joint is a problem. It falls back cause you try to stabilise with the back . They explain about another 15 kg . It is not of the strength of the grip. It is when do you enter the straight line . I don’t know if I explain myself . Someone could have a grip without hook stronger than someone else , with hook. But still. If he does the hook , his wrist is locked that way, that it doesn’t get stuck up there . And runs back. If you try a bar without rotation on the ends . You can’t even do hook grip. It burns the hand skin.

As someone who was introduced to it with a PVC pipe in a CrossFit gym I wholeheartedly agree
Same here, but I’m glad I had a start somewhere

The secret is to roll the bar towards you before the pull, clearly.

@@LatimusChadimusa bunch of people saw Eddie and Thor pull like that and thought it was the secret.
@@LatimusChadimusnoo. I was going to make a joke about this. You just explained it in a straight forward way.
And the original post is joke. You probably said your explanation to someone who already knew that
I love Revas loving on his teammate in the background
I was wondering who that was in the background? I like the comradery that was shown.
if only all the homies could be like that in the gym lol, sessions would go way better
Started doing muscle snatches recently, already feeling like my snatch became more stable and fluent. Good exercise indeed.

If the bar's nurling is deep enough and it brushes your pelvic area often enough, your snatch could get smoother!

Your Thumb Tape and straps are 10/10 super comfortable.
For real, especially the short straps, I even bought some for my friends who aren't into weightlifting, but just lift weights or work out in general.

I like to grip tight, thrust with my hips and drive very deep into the snatch! I usually find that's the most satisfying way to complete the lift!

I've never know a hook grip to cause any damage to the thumb other than causing some callusing. I think you'll be fine.
