I love watching Lasha lift. One question, does he really need all that weight round his gut to lift in that weight class? It sort of looks like it stabilises him in the bottom position because his gut sits between his legs and gives him a really solid foundation to hold such a huge weight. Do you think he would do better without the weight or worse?
What's his best ever snatch lift in training? Antonio Krastev had once heaved 227.5 up and onto straight arms overhead only to lose it behind when he was down in the deep squat. It wasn't strength that failed him just a bad position. Has Lasha Talakadze done this much successfully? Or at least up and behind as Krastev did?
large or not his technique and range of motion are great and what people half of his size would strive to achieve.
