Though, his own conclusions of the "truth of this world" while similar to his sister's, differed in what they should do. Lumine, taking a page from the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, come to the conclusion everyone and everything in Tavat needed to be destroyed. Aether, on the other hand, while reaching the same conclusion about The Truth of Tavat, also knew that there were good people in this world, and that given the chance and time could fix this world for the better. Then Lumine, angry that her brother didn't agree with her plan, forced Aether to make a choice. 1. Keep her alive, but then she would destroy Tavat and everyone within. Knocking him unconscious so he would not interfere. Or 2. Kill her, and save the whole of Tavat from her complete genecide plan. Despite how much it broke his heart and soul, he chose to save all of the people of Tavat. He was unable to accept being the reason for all the lives that would bet cut short. After all, he had come to know and care for many of the people on Tavat on his journey, they should not be destroyed because of the actions of one beings several hundred years ago. After being forced to cut down his twin, Aether just broke. None of his friends in Tavat could do anything to help him even begin to heal when everything around him brought back the memory of that choice. So Nahita proposed a plan to everyone (Aether included). Aether gets his mind wiped fully and goes to another world. The memories would start to return in time, but slowly. Thus giving Aether time to come to terms with what happened and why. Aether agrees to this plan. The last words to him in Tavat were from Zhongli, "Until you remember, we all shall keep your memories and times with us safe, and if you ever do return to us, we will share all those stories with you. This is my contract to you, my friend." So with his memory wiped he ends up in another world (SYMK modern-time). When asked his name he said, " I think it started with an 'A'." He paused then continues, " -'Li'. Not sure if it is part of my name, but it is part of an important name to me." So he was called A-Li following that. Though due to handwriting shenanigans and some miscommunication, the 'A' was sometimes read as 'Zhong'. Though Aether never minded, it felt like a correct name, maybe not his own but a correct one. He was drawn to medicine and healing, though he didn’t fully know why, it did bring him a sense of comfort. He also took interest in the ruins of Ebis, they reminded him of something?-one?-place? ...he wasn't sure, but it he made exploring and 'traveling' the area a hobby. Then the events of "See You, My King" begin. Here is my pre-done AU for you. Use it, don't, take it and run with it. Baseline, have fun. Also, keep up the good work. His friends (and secretly him as well) hope that slowly getting his memories back over time in a place that is not a constant reminder of that choice, would be the best way to help him heal and eventually come to terms with what happened.
