It's Ashaway who makes the Bird 3, and they are *easily* the best plastic shuttle IMO. Much more responsive and has a nice 'thwack' when smashing owing to the rigid supports. The only downside is that, IME, it's only roughly half as durable as the Mavis 300 (say). However, that still leaves it being something like 1/4 the cost of feathers rather than 1/8, and I would say it's worth it. I find it considerably more enjoyable to play with a Bird 3 than a Mavis 300.
I've had two tubes of Bird 2 shuttles, but they were super fast. Maybe it was just a bad batch, but I didn't like to play with them. The idea was good, though, so I might try the Bird 3 as well. We usually play with Mavis 350 when not playing with feathers and it's ok. Readily available and mostly consistent between tubes, although there can be minor speed changes.
they still use goose feathers... so for those not into the cruelty involved, they're not any different... plus from what I gather, due to having feathers, they still fray and wear MUCH more quickly than nylon/plastic.
Nice comparison. I’m really tempted to try the bird 3s, they look very different. Are they any harder to track in the air being, white cork, dark skirt base and then white tips?
I'm getting some this week, and was thinking they're probably very good for tracking, especially in sports halls which have bright overhead lighting... the black bit would be more visible when the BG is very bright, and the white when it's a darker shade... so my guess is they're very good for tracking... time will tell!
So, having just tried them at two different (low level) clubs, most older people don't like them because they are not as visible as the yellow Yonex ones we regularly use. Also with a few mishits, the cork flew off the shuttlecock, so definitely not as strong as Yonex!
We were using the Bird 3 but the upper white flight kept breaking away from the lower blue cage right at the join which would suggest a manufacturing fault this happened with at least 4 tubes bought by 3 different people so we returned to using Mavis 600's for durability and cost.
I bought a role of Bird 3 and we like them. The durable is much better than feather but not as good as simpler nylon balls. I think the best nylon I have ever used.
"They can never come close and beat the actual feather shuttlecocks". However, in terms of reducing animal suffering, feather can never come close to nylon/plastic. :( Badminton as a sport should seriously consider shifting away from feather. Just because we've been using it, doesn't mean we should continue.
I never liked the feather's lack of durability and consistency. It's even worse these days while Yonex just issued a 10 USD increase per tube pricing. I hope the people in my gym switch to Yonex plastics. Mavis 300 and 350 are so nice since they don't fly too slow compared to feather but aren't unreasonably fast like HL Condor Plastics where I can't tell the difference between hitting one of those and hitting a pebble. If Canada can use plastics, we can too.
(a bit late on watching...) I also happen to be doing a bit of a cross-test of shuttles for my own personal use but i just realised something about the Carlton ones when you read out the text on the tube: "oxygenated titanium" so maybe _titanium dioxide_?... which is often used as a white pigment... are they talking about the white paint on the cork head?
Ck, kinda unrelated question to the vid but related to shuttle.... Did players train with the shuttle for their next tourney respectively? Like prior to Thomas/Uber '22 they train using Victor shuttle? Thank You
Do you know what kind of synthetic shuttle it is they are planning to replace the real ones in the big tournaments? Or is the plan changed and we will continue with the real ones for at least for now? I think it was supposed to happen a few years ago already, but covid and life happened. Do you think it's even feasible option? Cork, leather and feathers are natural products, but nylon shuttles needs oil and chemicals to make. And of course they fly differently.
the birdie that doesn't specify what model the product is, it's a scam. they pretty much all exactly similar but called it different model to price it higher.

Nice!! It was certainly the best one by far!
Better the Yonex? I’m looking for the best one overall😊

Gotta find what works for you 👍🏼👍🏼
We use power mavis 333 (Taiwan)
you should also try the "hybrid" shuttles too

They’re good! No issues with tracking at all 👍🏼

So which is is the best for you?
Using the bird 3s are so good I don't find it as jarring when switching between plastics and feathers like when I was using carlton and mavis
👍🏼👍🏼👌
where is Mavis 350 ?
Which is the best overall plastic shuttle in your opinion, including yonex

Badminton as a sport should seriously consider shifting away from feather. Just because we've been using it, doesn't mean we should continue.
We can make computers using nanocircuitry, I'm pretty sure some nasa scientist could make something comparable or better than a feather.
@@jameo1095 sadly it's a matter of demand. The market will respond when people demand cruelty free options. I hope that day is soon.

Not sure if they’re available where I am but they’ll be added to the list for next time
Oh ok no problem 🙂
Why don't you review the Victor Carbonsonic??
That’s one of the plans for the future
@@CKYew discontinued bro
I think you should try to get Mavis 350 and compare. I believe the Mavis 350 is quite better than the Mavis 300, 2000.
Sir make apace n force 111 review. How is this racket actually is.
So which one do you prefer from all of these???apart air

They try and train with the tournament shuttle. They probably get them to train a few sessions with after they’ve arrived at the tournament.
@@CKYew alright thanks a lot for the answer
Super bro... please make a video on " badminton faults and lets " it will be useful...
Faults are against the rules, let’s are because play has commenced before both parties are ready.
@@CKYew A video would be helpful bro!! If possible
👍🏼
Hi Ck yew hope that you can do a review on the racquet and badminton equipments used by the players in Uber and Thomas Cup 2022
I'm not in Bangkok with the players but I can see Yuta Watanabe has swapped on to the Li Ning AxForce 80!!! 🤣
sorry i hv question, why ur favour arc 10?what string ur favour too and how tension? thanks bro
My usual string set up is Aerobite around 27 or 28 lbs
Brah use yonex mavis 350, or is it not available in your country??🧐🧐
It’s not available where I am
@@CKYew i see.. it is the most famous shuttle in my country 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Which is the most durable nylon & feather shuttlecock?
Nylon is tricky but feather for me was Mizuno Skycross EX1 when they still made them.

No idea if BWF will be implementing plastic shuttles outside of AirBadminton for now
Hey CK not relevant to the video but, what exactly are the difference between Astrox 99 (the 1st gen/release models) vs Astrox 99 pro?
Check out my video for the 88S/D in comparison to the Pros, they’re quite similar
Hi CK, I have apacs z ziggler and my string tension is 28 vertical 27 horizontal, Is it ok?
You should have your vertical strings tighter. 27 vertical and 28/29 for your horizontal would be 👍🏼
Better do a review of Yonex grip, ac102ex 102c 135ex ... etc. Thankyou.
Grip review is in the works 👍
Make a review video on yonex astrox 100 zx please
I believe it’s the same as the Astrox 100 Tour
power cushion infinity 2 review plsss
I will do if i can get my hands on one!
Feather shuttle review
I’ve done the yonex one already previously. More to come 👍🏼
How about Victor? 🤔
This is a bad review/comparison 😕😫👎👎👎
Carlton is really good
you didn't evaluate the regular Victor shuttle except for the Air Shuttle
They werent available when I was reviewing them
