Bro took 40 minutes to make me an oreo , I bought it in my hoods market for 45seconds. 🤣🤣🤣. Keep up the good work , the way of managing the topology to be on quads is insanely good. Nice on this one , I learned a lot
Thank you for putting together such an excellent and easy-to-follow tutorial. You have a real talent for explaining things clearly and making them engaging.
This is something that could have been a displacement map. That being said, that's not what the tutorial's really about. The tutorial is really about making topology suitable for sub-div. This will become essential for more advanced stuff. Following the same principles will give a good result
Franchement j'apprends énormément de petits details grâce à tes vidéos. Ca me permet de beaucoup m'améliorer en topologie et de gagner du temps grâce à tout ces petits raccourcis. Merci beaucoup tu est le meilleur !!!
At 4:00 instead of doing all those shenanigans with the pivot point and origin, you can just select the mesh, hit G then B and you can then chose a vertex on the mesh that will snap to any vertex or edge that you hover your mouse over. It works both with separate and joined meshes. Very neat little trick I discovered only recently after 15 years of using Blender but now I use it all the time !

Nice modeling dude, doing radial models is always quite painful when it comes to topology density and solving, nicely done. Add some more cream to that Oreo the next time, i'm hungry (?
just a tip for recording.. people that works with blender a lot, we know all the shortcuts, but some people doesn't know, u could activate the thing that shows the keys u r pressing, so people who doesn't use blender or beginners would know how to select things faster..
Hey Thomas Collin, I'm a begginer Blender user love your videos very helpful. Could you please do a video on how to make a 3d model of the sandisk extreme portable SSD the one with a hollow cavity near the top. Thank you very much.
Love the tutorial! but I was just speculating. Couldn't you just use a displace modifier and work on the photo itself my making a black and white displacement mask ? It wouldn't be that clean but much much faster
Can't wait for the time Ai will be able to make this in seconds only with the image reference. Have to do all this process having the image is pain. Ai will save us!
That's way more polygons than you need for an oreo unless it's going to fill your entire screen. I did something like this when I was making a game for a homework assignment and... well, thankfully my computer still functions.

Yeah I didn't mention it but you could easily do it with a disp map

I didn't say it but you need to be in orthographic view (front or top), otherwise it will not work
@ThomasColin3D ah!! Good tip, noted👍 ✅️
This is crazy considering he could just displace it through a texture. Great work! Nice video for learning more about topo

Wrong. This is criminally wrong. You put a generous amount of cream in the oreo.

There are TOOO MANY tutorials that REQUIRE addons that aren't enabled by default. Blender should really do something about that.
Does this tutorial require any add-ons?
can't you just add a quadsphere from extra mesh addon
instead of adding a cube add subdivede it once and relax the top face?
Yes of course you can!

for this kind of videos I don't care about the number of polygons, the purpose of this video is to show how to solve complex topology problems :)
7:52 you skipped a step. I need a 45 minute long explanation of what that step was and the thought process behind it.
