One of the things I love the most when watching these compilations of Red Buttons dinner jokes and his Frier Club appearances... is watching the other guests completely lose it ......
I absolutely LOVE how Ernest Borgnine, just completely 'loses it', when Buttons mentions Sophia Loren's new baby Now I loves me some Red Buttons! And I never got a dinner, either!
Mary Todd Lincoln who said to her husband Abe; “Ever since you became President you’re so busy you never take me anywhere, and we never do anything together just the two of us. Would it kill you to take me to the Theater just once?”
Red Buttons was more than a comedian. He was a great actor as well. He won an Oscar for best supporting actor for Sayonara in the 1950s. He was a suburb talent. Once of his best one liners was at the roast for Frank Sinatra when he said " that most of the singers on the dias are Italians and most of comedians are Jewish. There is really no difference between Italians and Jews, perhaps one year of high school."
I was born in '71 and reruns of this stuff was on when I was a kid and damn these old time guys were HILARIOUS. This caliber of professionalism and craft is just gone forever.
Red Buttons was a great comedian, if not the greatest of all time along with Roger Dangerfield, a shame both have now left us. Thank you for making me laugh
Some of those stars were lucky to have been roasted by the Red Buttons with the *Never Got A Dinner* routine but I’ve been married 25 years and I’ve never got breakfast much less a dinner ! 😂🤣😂🤣😂
I'm 45 and sooooooo happy that youtube has allowed me to see the fun and smarts of the 70's thru Red button's , Dean Martin and Don Rickles PHENOMENAL talents. Very smart , very funny and not an ounce of mean . I invite you to follow all their skits. I wish i was an adult in those years of real talent and true spirit. Its all gone to shit since the 90's....
I'm really, REALLY offended at these insensitive remarks...just kidding, no I'm not. I wasn't offended in the 1970s when I first saw this, and nobody else back then was either.
If you watch all of these Dean Martin Roasts you will discover that not one time did anyone slap anyone else. I wonder why that is? Could it be that they all realize that it is just jokes? Maybe that coward punk Will Smith could learn a lesson from watching these Roasts.
@5:45 Floyd Patterson loses it because he repeatedly heard throughout his boxing career about him being a credit to his race, could easily relate to that. Floyd being a credit to his race. Along with Joe Louis, compared to Sonny Liston.
@@Tee1312Jay Or maybe they didn't have the voice to speak up. Look, I found it funny too. But don't presume to speak on other people's behalf when they may not have been free to share how they really felt. Your perspective of things may not be shared by other people. Just saying.
I can watch it once and again and never stop laughing. Fantastic the way he puts different facts together in an amusing way
Red buttons was brilliant! So much talent back then
Every time this pops up in my feed, I watch the whole thing. Red Buttons timing and cadence is perfect for me.

We'll never see this type of comedy in a 100 years.
The phone rang one nite, my butler who is also my son says , dad , its for you.
I love the way Red Buttons made Floyd Patterson lose it!!
I always loved Red Buttons. His best movie ever was Hatari with The Duke. They were perfect together.
his best was the Poseidon Adventure.
This is true Hollywood royalty these are the original Kings of comedy. Not like the garbage celebrities that they have today.
OMG, what a slew of legendary great comedians. The absolute best of their time.
Absolutely Numero uno thanks for the laughs, whenever I'm feeling down I listen to red buttons never got a dinner.
He was the best! Thank you for posting 🙌🏾❤
Bob Newhart...great guy...NEVER had a dinner...

Those were the good old days of true comedy.

Red never got a dinner? What a mishap.
My favorite part of his bit at the Sinatra roast was: "Venus De Milo, who said to Col. Sanders, 'That sure is finger-licking good.'"
This is a Real Comedian! God Rest his soul.

He's just a hilarious guy!
Not much difference between italians and the jews, ONE YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL.

Roger Dangerfield? Never heard of him-tell me one of his jokes!

Just seeing comment from 2 months ago and it's FUNNY!!!!

Red Buttons also had a great dramatic acting career that spanned over 40 years. He won an Oscar for his supporting role in 'Sayonara' (1957).
So many great routines ...love Red on the birthday specials for his Friar peers also...peers? ...there's a joke there somewhere...
Urine to something on that one😉
Great era that is long gone. Now it’s filth or meanness
NOW THAT'S THE DEFINITION OF FUNNY!
Simply the best!
Chicken catcher Tory 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's when he broke down!
You made a typo: it’s “Chicken Catcher Torre”
@@al.n.darodda6183 thanks bro🤞🏿
The question is "Why didn't we give Red Buttons a dinner?"
Back when we knew how to laugh at ourselves!
MY BUTLER WHO'S ALSO MY SON .
Now the nation turned soft
@@tonystewart4113 it's beyond soft
Yeah , the man with charisma . Pity he never got a dinner
Attending those must have been something.
Hilarious genius.
I can't watch red buttons without thinking of his character "pockets" in hatari! Especially that memorable scene after catching the monkeys.
THE WHOLE SERIES WAS HILARIOUS

Here come da judge
Budha who said while contemplating his naval: it sure beats daytime television! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And daytime television is pretty bad.
So original, man!
Those were the days.
20:45 Moses' first name.
Charleton Heston played Moses in the movie the Ten Commandments. Great comparative relative comedy.
@@aarondigby5054 I didn't know that. It makes it funnier.

i love there's no cursing
But did Red ever get a dinner? He so should've. Love these clips. x

Red Buttons was always a very attractive man, young or old
I lost it.
A credit to his rice haha😂
Red buttons never got a dinner
Thank God those greats didn't live in today's woke 'that offends me' culture.. They'd never be able to tell a joke!
He looks just like George W. Bush.
This video is an editing nightmare.
this was when you could make jokes about race and it was funny...before political correctness and identity politics took over....what a shame.
How come he didnt get a dinner?
Today's woke cancel culture would pull their hair out watching this. LMAO 🤣 😂 🤣
Where's the racism? I don't see any. Yeah, that's right.
Did someone say there was racism? Best jokes ever! People were less sensitive than were are these days. Comedy is dead.

As usual the Liberals , woke mob, ruined true comedy such as this...
Funny? Nope! Rude, yes. But they are of the same actor family. Well happy most no, wait they are DEAD. 4-23-2022
