Special Investigation: Strong Vs. Swift (Adrenaline Hammer) - 特別討究 ナルガクルガ ハンマー ソロ【サンブレイク】

I noticed that surprisingly, I had never done a Special Investigation featuring Nargacuga as the main target, so I decided to come up with a themed one where I could go with only my trusty Hammer and nothing else.
I think I've said this already before but in the end I think Courage is my definitive favorite playstyle for Hammer in Sunbreak. It feels more like an actual weapon, between the three levels of charge and the benefits of Water Strike, compared to Strength's sad level 3 charge spam.
I do prefer using Courage with Adrenaline a lot more though, as it makes the ease of use of the playstyle compared to Strength a bit more exciting.
You'll notice in this run that I am playing slowly or doing preemptive dodges while Nargacuga is in its exhausted state. This is because as you can see at 6:27, Nargacuga can sometimes do an instantaneous jump 'n slash attack.
Other than that, Nargacuga remains one of Hammer's best matchups. While I didn't play perfectly and missed a few hits, I'd like to believe that was made up for by me targeting as many Qurio Cores as I could, as well as that silly dunk I got right before it died.
This was by far my fastest run on this quest and to be honest 10:14 for a solo SI quest with two monsters is kinda nuts, I'm very proud of myself.
The biggest gain of time was probably finishing Garangolm immediately after riding Nargacuga, as Garangolm would usually enter its rage state again by that point ; and that animation completely locks Garangolm's HP, status and stagger thresholds, which wastes a good 6-7 seconds.
I also got to activate Adrenaline faster by letting myself get chipped a bit by Garangolm, which probably also helped.

Superb gameplay as always, particularly great that just about every facet of Sunbreak’s gameplay was utilized. Always love your music edits but that Narga + Tower Top BGM mix was god like.
