48:50 - "Queeks getting his ass kicked. This book takes a main character and it doesn't pretend they're better than they are. They're as good as they are. " Beautiful lost art of "the protag is just a guy"
Playing WH2 and 3 Queek quickly became my favorite Skaven as well for just being so different from the usual Skaven attitude as I dug into lore. In Headtaker I really liked how Sleek Sharpwit began questioning how stupid Queek was over time as Queek continued to find strange and almost crafty ways to gain the upper hand in situations. Queek and Ska being Skaven bros is a fun dynamic. I always use the Legendary Heroes mod so I can fight with Ska by Queek's side.
3 things to add to campaign Mors. Remove loyalty mechanic at least from warlords. Give clan mors the scrap mechanic the orkz have but tuned to skaven there was a mod that did this very well. Add ska as a legendary hero.
I personally can say that I would feed Queek all the cheese in my fridge he wanted because he's such a precious little murder rat. And I'm Italian, that's like a full 4 months worth of cheese at any time. Yaknow what, Ska can have some too. He's a fuckin BRO.
That's a bit of a running theme for clan mors. The majority of their ranks are bros. (In skaven standards) A random skaven took a dagger for queek at one point. And as a reward, Queek gave that random skaven access to his harem of broodmothers. (Do not ask about the broodmothers) And when Ska was presumed dead for protecting queek, he was so pissed he massacred a tunnel full of assassins. But still, this is what other skaven clans find difficult to understand.
If GW wasn't dumb enough in killing it's second most profitable IP, it would have been interesting to see what his relation with the wind of death is. I could imagine him having a relation to Morr/Usirian instead of the Great Horned Rat that would not only explain his un-skaven qualities but also lead to a more complex Dynamic about the Skaven in general
40:36 Okay you know the part right after this where you fankid over Ska? I think that part needed some rotated zoom in on Queek's face and agressive camera vibration timed with the syllables or something.
Had already heard about those Queek story but your unconditional love for Ska made it all worth it! Also, first Malus and now Queek, I think I'm seeing a pattern of you liking when they go against the grain 😄
Literally the only thing I vehemently disagree with you about is Queek’s fighting ability. Queek would body Franz if Franz was off his gryphon, Queek in the End Times killed Belegar (admittedly with some trickery and psychological warfare) and an Orc Warboss and his Wyvern Mount *at the same time.* Queek is a literal blur in combat, other Skaven (a race already fast and nippy) are practically in slow motion to him. He’s lifted a dwarf which shows he’s definitely stronger then a normal human and Elves. He’s constantly killing Clan Eshin assassins, expert duelists, who Gnawdwell sends so that Queek is always on his toes. Queek is formidable, he’d definitely best a good amount of the worlds champions. And that’s ignoring his equipment. Best Skaven armour around which sprays radioactive acid dust at anyone who even gets a glancing blow off, meaning even the greatest witch elves, probably even Hellebron are in trouble. There is literally only one thing in existence Dwarf Gouger can’t gouge meaning armour is practically useless. The only reason Gorfang’s armour succeeded is because it’s literally too thick and dense that Dwarf Gouger spike couldn’t reach him. His heads tell him things he literally shouldn’t, and even they shouldn’t know. Basically, Queeks one of the best duelists around, but he would get bested by Tyrion and Grimgor and Thorgrim, because they’re simply next level. Literally the only problem I have with Headtaker is that Queek gets beaten too much for who he is, and even then getting dazed briefly doesn’t mean beaten.
Yea but tbh end times lore means nothing ,The skaven were the WORST part of end times. as they gave every Chaos character massive plot armour and power and mega nerfed everyone else
Queek having an ITP aura or a 35m AOE LD/MA/MD buff could be interesting. Encourages him to lead from the front and makes him a techpiece against terror which tends to fold skaven frontlines like the wet toiletpaper they are.
I also think his armour can be reworked into a better warpstone armour warlock engineers get. So not only he buffs his frontline, but also drains yours. And it makes sense lore-wise because that's what warpshard armour supposed to do.
@@DGToyun Warpstone armour having damage reflection would be pretty good too. Punishes infantry for trying to pile on him but doesn't effect SE duals too much.
I like queek two he’s evil of course being a Skave but he really also has let’s of virtues and admirable trates you don’t usually see in them he’s brave he actually loyal and capital of inspiring loyalty in others he even kinda has a best friend he’ll he had the most friendly and amicable relationship of any other skaven and theses also all his crazy curse’s and his quisy magic and yess some people clame they can also her the voice talking to him it makes him and his wierd ass attachment to his heads makes him weirdly lovable while still making him a sicotec killing machine
Thaw I think your under selling his general ship in one book he actually went and rescued a dwarf hostage taken by iron hide in order to make his realives stop supplying arms to a settlement he was besieging and o ya in the end times he actually succeeded in congoring 8 peeks
Honestly, the second half of the book really goes to override the first half and showing that queek is not some mindless bezerker. He has the just do it attitude because he knows it works. But if he lacks the odds to make that work, he seems capable of scheming, just like the rest. The only difference is he schemes within an area that he knows and knows well. The battlefield.
Queek is a fun character, but he's a failure as a Skaven. The Peturabo of Skaven. Except we live in the weird set of twisted realities in which a society of Peturabos would declare, I dunno, probably like, Jaghatai Khan or like an even less sociable Dorn a failure, because they made things that didn't fall down.
i really dig these videos and the style of just unorganized rants about skaven, only thigng i wish the images would change more often, or maybe some like background footage of total warhammer gameplay once in a while.
I get why Queek's best buddy is not in the game. Doing a legendary hero for only one faction wouldn't be worth it, especially to faction that I think is one of least favorite on that race. Or he could be for all skaven, but it would be weird to have him work for other clans.
@@dropkickpiper3204 I think context matters there. Ghoritch came with DLC where the other faction also gained legendary hero. And that kind of thing makes you want to buy that DLC. Meanwhile Queek was from the base game, so giving a legendary hero for single faction would have been playing favorites, and now CA won't put the effort for possibly least played faction for skaven.
@@HumanBoyYesYes I’m so glad you did. That picture is legendary. We are so similar, I just like Snikch more than Queek by a bit because tail dagger is cool. But Artorias is the best!

Ah, the Fantasy problem. Take a good moment. Nice deep breath. Before you stands Kroq-Gar, Chakax, Gor-Rok, and Nakai. One of them is the strong silent type, one of them is too quiet, one of them is debatably incapable of speech, one of them is unusually chatty, being capable of a few words. The last doesn't care about purpose, he has a singular duty to perform and words like purpose get in the way. One is an implacable mountain in lizard form. Another is the most determined sentinel of what his people find dear. One is a nearly immobile obstacle on the battlefield. One is a singular point of power on a battlefield. I reached a tiny bit for a few of them, some of them you might be able to figure out who is who, but the basic problem that they're very similar characters with nigh indistinguishable features exists. And indeed. Queek Headtaker is very much Gor-Rok's cousin. As they were both the very clearly different from ordinary, one off births that were taken aside, given elite training as the best of the best, then used for the specific goals of their masters. And let's not forget the superpowered psychic demigod crippled in a climactic battle against chaos deep in the past, who was grievously wounded and put on a big magic chair, and to this day maintains the "the main reason everyone is not dead" effect. Only difference is one of them had a fetish for gold, the other couldn't stop giggling when he Kroaked.
Weird then that in WH3 it is Queek who has cheaper Stormvermin and Tretch who has stronger ones. It seems like it should be reversed in game then, right?
