I feel like the Red Duke is a good example of how you can make an interesting main character within a single book (although a follow up wouldn't hurt if done well). Shoutout to our boy the Blood Dragon for recruiting him to the club and giving him absolutely no guidance.
An interesting detail about Red Duke lore is that the character was inspired by the spanish ''El Cid '' (as you mentioned in the video they even share nicknames at some point)
I always like these lore videos cause I can feel how much fun you have making them and it's like sitting there discussing nerd shit with a friend. Would love to see more.
Just got around to fully listening. I had already read the novel but this telling of the story is funny af. Love the red Duke and I really wish CA would add him to total war but I’m sure they’d fuck him up like throgg and miss his character entirely
Vargheists are supposed to be created partially by warpstone exposure alongside the imprisonment and starvation. So it's not weird that the Red Duke didn't mutate.
Wow! First of all loved the energy and story telling. Second of all what I read on the wiki about this guy makes him out to be a narcissistic vampire like the rest of them with a hunger to rule Bretonnia. This is not the same Red Duke at all. I usually hated Vampire lore but this one Vampire... I can vibe with.
Hbyy phone account: Yea that's not how his book portrays him. He's cruel after turning into a vampire, and brutal, but that's what the disease does to a person.
This is now my favorite character second only to Gotrek, Felix and Snorri and while I know people might say that's three different people, it's clearly just three parts to a whole and I hate bretonnia and I'm never reading this book because I won't risk ruining the version of this man that you put into my brain but I love him and yeah, awesome video. Read that as if it was all said in one breath to keep to the theme of how you make your videos, keep up the great work.
no, the red duke thought his brother plotted his death and talked his wife into suicide. So he wanted nothing but to kill him and all his followers@@nmmeswey3584

I am officially joining the "Make Red duke playable in campaign" bandwagon
24:57 in vargheist case is that it's purposefully made, by putting a vampire inside the coffin whilst there's a influence of warpstone near the coffin

I love the TWWH Red Duke undead Bretonnia units. Obviously everyone has to love the Red Duke himself..

YEAAAHHHH BOOOOYYYYY
IT'S WARHAMMER LORE TIMEEEEE
I love your storytelling style, 45 minutes felt like nothing here!
A tragic and beautiful story. The Matter of Bretonnia seems to have been well handled by the writers.

You did it!
Finally, a children's card game which doesn't require supporting evil companies like Kaiba Corp.!

so the red duke still lives? is king louen still alive as well or who was the king during the dukes resurection?
Yes he is currently running around, Louen was I think
@@austinkoepp1409 did the duke ever made any attempt at reconciliation with his brother? or at least comunicating with him?
no, the red duke thought his brother plotted his death and talked his wife into suicide. So he wanted nothing but to kill him and all his followers@@nmmeswey3584
Not in the book as far as I can tell. He was convinced by de gadavan that king Louis was in on it
But also, vampirism makes the mind twisted and cruel.
but what was his name?! i cant find it anywhere
it was never mentioned in the book either
based blood dragon content
