Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, is turning 60 years old in 2024!
In this new series from OcraMed Health, "Bring On 60", Dr. Joe will share with you his journey as he gets into the best shape of his life for his 60th birthday.
In today's episode, I discuss low back pain and the importance of maintaining strong back muscles and core muscles. I demonstrate exercises for the spinal erector muscles of the back. Also, I demonstrate exercises for the deep core muscle known as the quadratus lumborum or commonly referred to as the QL.
In today's episode I share with everyone my new Lions Mane infused coffee that I have been working on. Want to receive 6 free bags of it? Submit a name for this coffee blend. If I use the name you submit, I will send you 6 free bags of coffee!
Of course, I end today's video with my weekly weigh in and physique update.

Is there any difference between moving the torso ,lifting legs like a kickback to train the spinal erectors?
Is one more hamstring centric Doc.
Well what I found the kickback we much easier since the load was less than that of a lower back extension.
Thank you for this great video by the way Doc.

There are a number of ways of strengthening the erector muscles. I was just providing one example. Perform what works best for your body. Good luck!!

You could also call it a single arm "farmer's carry".

I just tried this exercise with the yoga ball and felt nothing anywhere.
The only thing I did notice was that my gut and diaphragm felt completely squashed and I was gasping for air by the second attempt.

That’s a very unusual reaction to that exercise. Obviously just skip it. There are many other exercises to perform instead for the erectors.
