@Czyerx No! A DR-UDIMM (dual-rank unpuffered memory module), which is the maximum you can get in terms of space on non-server motherboards and processors, has two ranks that are both connected via a 64 bit bus (so 128 bits per Hz in total). Every rank consists of 4 SD-RAM-Chips and all of these chips are connected via a 16 bit bus. The maximum at the moment are 4 GB DIMMs. So you have 8 512 MB SD-RAM-Chips. For 8 GB-DIMMs you need 1 GB SD-RAM-Chips which don't exist cause they are too expensive.
@renegade8164 technically the SSDs in Macbook Airs are cards, that are plugged into the motherboard, thats why apple says they can upgrade them later if you wish.
The white sata ports are Z68 controller SATA 3 6GB/s also 2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (SATA3_0~SATA3_1) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices 4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors (SATA2_2~SATA2_5) supporting up to 4 SATA 3Gb/s devices 2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (GSATA3_6, GSATA3_7) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices
You post the results of the most popular games for the younger crowd. However, for us older guys, thousands of us are “Flight Simmers”, and we build systems, too. I would like to see the inclusion of Microsoft’s Flight Simulator FSX in future results.
Wait a second. Are you saying that if that SSD fails I stand to lose all the data on the actual HDD, or multiple HDDs? This is a serious point to consider.
@defiled3s It's a limitation of Sandy Brdige. The only true 16x2 boards out are the NF200 ones and 1366 boards. IE WS Revolution and any x58 boards. Besides you don't really notice the bottleneck til x4 anyway, so it's not a big deal at all..
Hey there Elric! You nailed it! If we take off the price of the SSD, we have a ~130$ mobo. And it kinda showed in the results. Not even mentioning the thing you said about the integrated SSD failure possibility. Not that it's possible, but if it happens it's a Pain In The A.. I think that a mobo has to be a firm base for your system. That is capable of delivering all the performance, and features that you demand from it to perform. And this mobo lacks in performance compared to the other ones.
@Hokrollo1 No. I know what benchmarks are. But what does running a benchmark on a different Mobo prove. I understand some may be a touch quicker, but it's hardly noticeable. However, I like the idea
@meanOM3N "just change the bios while in cfx mode and it updates both" Try this first, if it doesn't work then try the other method you described. Simpler solutions tend to be the correct solutions.
@Czyerx Some exist, but as you said they're extremely expensive. But the few ones that exist are Server-DIMMs that won't work on normal motherboards. For example sometimes they require ECC or have more than 2 ranks or they are not unpuffered.....
Wait,i have found a motherboard with the same name,BUT it doesn't have the iSSD.So,are they the same?It also says it has the smart 6 technology(in the store i am looking it at right now).
@rolandFTW000 There is no difference, the normal z68xp-ud3 just has not Intel 311 20 GB SSD. But you can buy it separatly or install any other mSATA-SDD.
i have a quick question about sli/crossfire, when changing bios do i take one out and update the bios and then update the other card and then finally put them back in cfx mode, or do i just change the bios while in cfx mode and it updates both of the cards at the same time?
Can you change the SLC SSD? (for more storage if that helps) Can you use this mobo without a HHD? Can you use the SLC SSD to install the OS on it only? (not speed enhancing)
@exonerator This motherboard will do what most people would need it for... and more with the good gigabyte technologies. Def. not a bad board, but you're right it's not top end. Plenty of phases (it's not like we need 12-24) dual card capability, great overclocking as almost and if not all gigabyte boards OC pretty well. For the price though I think it should be less than 260 though... should be like 200-240.
It's nice that they give you ssd onboard but the price is crazy, i can get a 60GB Vertex 3 + similar Gigabyte motherboard for the same price, i guess this motherboard is useful for something
PLEASE, how is this song called and where can I find it? Could you benchmark the MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II with Crysis 2 with the new Patch v1.9 installed which includes the HD Textures and DirectX 11 Upgrade? Or just include it into your video-card benchmark tools and games. 8 GB DIMMs won't come out in the next years because then you would need 1 GB SD-RAM-Chips (dual rank DIMM) or even 2 GB Chips (dual rank DIMM). And they are just too expensive to produce.
Info provided here is not very good. Customers from Newegg are complaining about unstable Intel SSD caching technology, moreover its far cheaper to buy good Z68 board and higher capacity and better performance SSD - which together can also be putted in same caching setup. No mention about board not having UEFI, position of memory slots can be problematic with a lot of highend cooling systems, and even tests here show an inferior performance to other Z68 boards etc.
@LtFab192 thats funny, because i watched a video of someone replacing an ssd card on a 2010 macbook air. Google has a story that pops up saying they are soldered but thats just a rumor.
little gotcha that isn't clear until you buy and try ... +3tb (efi gpt partition boot) support or issd cache support not both ... for efi gpt partition windows install / boot you must set pch sata control mode to achi not raid xhd ... therefore windows gpt boot and issd caching are mutually exclusive ...
I've got a question, help if you can please. I am looking into buying this board but NOT the iSSD, only z68XP-UD3 version ($150) for my i5 2500k. I will get an SSD for OS and some games and a Spinpoint F3 1TB. I understand that the SSD is SATA 3 so it will be plugged into the grey SATA 3 port, correct? Where do I plug the Spinpoint F3 1TB? I will install the Spinpoint F3 1TB later once I have the money for it, it will be for storage - I won't RAID. Thank you for your video / help.

For people who can't afford an ssd this might be good but I'd rather get something with some more pci-e slots and remove the ssd on the board. I don't want to pay for features I'll never use.
i dont know why i dont like boards with onboard video i just look at them notice they have onboard video so i pass on to the next board its kinda wierd.
Ook.. i need help with some think. i have a crossfire ready pc and i have got a ATI Radeon 6850 1028MB GDDR5 card. i want to get a 2nd card so i can crossfire them.. will i see any performance in my games if i do get a 2nd card or will it be the same performance as one card ? i have a Asus M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 880G Socket AM3 ONboard 128MB Memory Crossfirex DVI VGA HDMI Out ATX Motherboard thx amy :) xx
If your motherboard can support the memory then i believe so i think it will set the MHZ at the same speed with the lowest ram stick speed if the MHZ is different. The GB dont matter unless your ram slots can't handle 4gb per slot and the voltage must be the same. You may get problems with your system in the future i wouldn't do it man just use the same ram together always. I got 16gb ram but only got 12gb atm (3x4) i had to take 1 out...couldn't fit all 4 ram sticks with my cpu cooler..lol
@Amy01223 Some games support crossfire better and others. Approximately 50% increase of performance. In some games it can be almost 100% increase of performance. (I'm not an expert)
@motherboardsorg i cant afford high end, so i would like to see what i can get for my little amount of dollars, could you revview some crap for me? like hd 1000 series or somthing jks, but u dont need the best of the best stuff
@DaviedDedo91 you cant overclock on h61 and p67 boards .. p67 can overclock a lil but not the gpu . and the h61 cant do shit .. z68 is the way to go if your looking for performance
thats cause its still ati when amd bought out ati they didnt buy the rights to put there name on all of there stuff just to let u know so yes its still ati
@BustedController Newegg has them. If you search there site make sure its desktop memory or else your going to buy ram that runs on servers. (they have had 8gb ram sticks for a while they even got 16gb ram sticks) newegg(DOT)com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148436&cm_re=8gb_ram-_-20-148-436-_-Product
I didn't even notice ATI logo on the mobos till you pointed it out. Very interesting...
Yes dude: we know you by now and we love you.
That's why we tune in ;-)

Good video man. I try to watch all your videos. When it comes to keeping myself in the know on the latest tech stuff this is where i come to.

How can you say if a product is Best/good/okay/bad without reviewing them?
@LtFab192 You can swap it. It's the RAM that's soldered on.
@gumberly motherboards actually do have different performance, like sli scaling, sata performance, raid performance, and things like that
@defiled3s It's a limitation of Sandy Brdige. The only true 16x2 boards out are the NF200 ones and 1366 boards. IE WS Revolution and any x58 boards.

Excellent quality! What camera was used for the pictures?
what is the difference between this mother board and the z68xp-ud3 that is not 'issd'

Before anyone says..... Its already in 480p ust change it.
very high quality audio!!
So i cant connect a VGA Monitor ? do i need another adapter ?
Will the smart response feature work with Intel 320 Series SSD 40GB?
@techonyoursix so that means the price for RAM is going to drop some more right?
i have a quick question about sli/crossfire, when changing bios do i take one out and update the bios and then update the other card and then finally put them back in cfx mode, or do i just change the bios while in cfx mode and it updates both of the cards at the same time?
if my motherboard has 3 PCI-E x16 slots will the performance be tripled if i sli three GTS 450's?
@TomsteurhToast it's broken. back up your data to another drive before the broken dies and you lose all your data
Can you change the SLC SSD? (for more storage if that helps)
Can you use this mobo without a HHD?
Can you use the SLC SSD to install the OS on it only? (not speed enhancing)
when will the 8GB sticks of RAM be widely available to the public?
@kogarona No,Yes,Yes Basically the SSD makes the OS run faster and not for enough storage
Wouldn't you have gotten a better result if you used a 7200 hard drive instead of a 5200
@xzystence , it is under 200 dollars .
@motherboardsorg So I can use that 20gb SSD as my Windows boot drive right?
@exonerator This motherboard will do what most people would need it for... and more with the good gigabyte technologies. Def. not a bad board, but you're right it's not top end. @LtFab192 thats for the upcoming 3rd generation airs not the first two.
is it better from ga-z68x-ud7?
@silvex300 No the faster the hard drive speed the less the onboard SSD does for you, its designed as a speed enhancer not true RAID performance.
how many takes must it take to get all that G8-ZZ105.90 mSATA GB intel 433 stuff?:L
@Riskas132 it is because it said i had 40 gigs used when I installed windows

@defiled3s How big of a difference is 16x vs x8?
@isaac9517 On Microsoft's website, it says it only uses 15 gb.

@hayharut they will come out this year
@dropbear876 end of summer or beginning of autumn.
Great video that board is sweet!
For people who can't afford an ssd this might be good but I'd rather get something with some more pci-e slots and remove the ssd on the board. I don't want to pay for features I'll never use.
the lower slot pcie is 8x not 16x
I love the Benchmark music Bravo!!! it s excellent
i dont know why i dont like boards with onboard video i just look at them notice they have onboard video so i pass on to the next board its kinda wierd.
tetris minimum requirements:
cpu clocked at 18.7ghz
512 bit operating system
96 gig of ram
direct x 26
amd 6990x11 or gtx 590x13
@EmceeWatermelon You're*
whats the song towards the end?
What song is that? Please reply
@motherboardsorg What the song is?
@UnknownXV about .8% if u refering to pci-e slots
@vinigretzky97 hey they do sell the 8gb DIMM. I guess no one know about it. Use the link below

When is the AMD bulldozer coming out?
@vinigretzky97 a DIMM can have 16x 512Mb SD-RAM-Chips, 8 on each side, :3
How do you afford this stuff!!!!???
Dios le da peine al que no tiene pelo !!!
Cuando va a hacer un review como la gente y lo peor es que sigo viendolo y esperando a que mejore !
i wish i had that motherboard
@hayharut its called advances in technology.
@isaac9517 It is 15 GB for home premium.
@vinigretzky97 sure they don't exist? i kno they're expensive as hell, but...
@Amy01223 Some games support crossfire better and others. Approximately 50% increase of performance. In some games it can be almost 100% increase of performance. (I'm not an expert)
@S13v7n RAID 0 isn't that reliable though
My gigabyte doesn't even detect my video card >:C
@buzz9961 easy bro if they are both LGA 1155
Seriously who still uses pci slots and the pci x1? its old as time to get rid of it methinks
wait, wait, wait... what? 8gig RAM sticks?!? O.o
260$ for this motherboard......... im gonna buy it when the price drops to 259$ for now its too expensive
Am I the only one who thinks the SSD is removable? It looks like it...
Newegg has the new 8gb RAM sticks for desktop computer n
@motherboardsorg i cant afford high end, so i would like to see what i can get for my little amount of dollars, could you revview some crap for me? like hd 1000 series or somthing jks, but u dont need the best of the best stuff

@vinigretzky97 as i thought, thanks for the info ;)
this is uuugly!! i have a window on my case so looks matter!
APUS PLZ!!!
@COLDICEPro Oh, im dumb
