Researching both the Scattergun and the Brazin ATL I tried to justify the Scattergun, but looking at center of gravity improvements I couldn’t justify the Scattergun as everything basically stays the same from the CG perspective (motor and transmission sits about in the same position as stock). The main advantage is being able to lay the shocks down, but really that is attainable by different shock towers like IERC on the rear and Team Raffee on the front. You can use shock keys as well. I ended up with the Brazin ATL as it drops the transmission and motor down. The Shapeways cart you end up with is quite a bit of sticker shock with the Brazin though and that’s the draw of the Scattergun
Hey dixieland rc first I just want to thank you for all your informative rc videos. I ordered the last nwsd chassis rail for trx4 and just hoping I can still use the 2 spa and locking diff servos? Anyway you can just verify that for me would be really appreciated. Cant wait for the next vidoe covering the next step.
@@DixielandRC awesome my brother that's exactly what I want to see I'm thinking about ordering one of these from you I'm already running one of your Motors might as well have your frame to
I’ve enjoyed the series! But, I am very new to rc and don’t understand why people change the chassis rails. Are these stronger than the stock rails? Are they much lighter?
Good question! I will get to that on my next video hopefully this week. I will try to explain the reasons why changing is a good idea or why it wouldnt be. Its not a needed change, just a preference thing.
Like the chassis. Didnt like the guessing game. Well this might work and that might work. Wouldn't you have all ready done this before making a video of it. You just sounded like you where guessing the hole time
Yeah i built it in real time. So I made mistakes. But its still rocking and rolling (tumbled down a 400ft mountain) and no issues. Majority of the stock stuff will fit on this chassis.
Is there anyway to just buy the template of the chassis or anyone know where I can get a template to make my own chassis or the measurement of the outline?
I just found your videos and have been catching up. Great video quality as I have come to expect, I was a little disappointed that in the beginning you really talked the rails up with how well they would fit, then seemingly struggled with the entire install. I suppose they just aren't for me, I think if they came prebent I would be way more into it.
Yeah. I kinda rushed and got a little aggravated. I have done a few other sets of rails and did them a bit differently. Went together easy. All aftermarket rails have to be bent.
@@DixielandRC thanks for the reply! I'm new to crawling but I've been into "go fast" RC's for years. I have noticed that the aftermarket chassis rails all seem to need to be bent. At this point it looks like I'm going to need another trx-4 so I can make one scale truck and one performance truck 😅
Not sure why you just built it from the ground up rather then bolt on to existing configuration? Take this time to trim the fat off your rig and set it up better cause it’s now a LCG rig
Lol. I knew that would get some flack. I just dont think 3d printed in that one part is the best idea. I have seen numerous ones break. Hell i broke two. One was a huge tumble so was expected. The other was a little bump. Now that was 4 years ago. Its probably way better now with the better filaments being used.
@@DixielandRC check them out my buddy gabriel been working hard to make it the lightest most capable chassis around, even has people buying from across seas.
Just ordered this chassis today. Thanks for the video man, it answered some of the questions I had

Is it a near bolt on conversion for the trx4 like the scattergun?
sorry do you have a video of the difference between the original chassis and the LCG chassis ... ???
I dont. Sorry.
Awesome to see this rig back!
Full change coming soon.

Send it back they need to finish it put the bends in it so everything fits.. it was a nice TRX
Lol. Sure thing.
Worst I have ever seen.
Yall do realize they all come straight. The bends you have to put in them. Mine could have been done better. But it works great.
Cool stuff thank you for sharing with us
Thanks for watching!
Full watched brother I been looking into build a belly dragger, awesome stuff bro
Yes. You should.
Would you consider this a belly crawler? Just wondering.
@@knoctrnl4 I think this chassis could work. Would probably need some different links. I don't think you'd get there with stock.
Cory STONE thanks for your input!! Appreciate it
Cool frame rails not sure I like how it pinches on the ends though I think I would have to shave down that skid like you're talkin about
Most of them pinch like that anyway. Even your stock rails do a little bit.
Planning on cutting the skid down a bit in the next video.
@@DixielandRC awesome my brother that's exactly what I want to see I'm thinking about ordering one of these from you I'm already running one of your Motors might as well have your frame to
So the pan hard is removable for those like me that like 4 link suspension's
Yes. It can be removed

@@DixielandRC Thanks, I'll look forward to the next video!
I used a bench vise and bent the frame to match the trx4 frame, just another way to do it
Yeah. I wish i would have done it differently on video. Lol. I rushed it. I have since fixed it. But would have been better
Can you not bend (offset) the rails in the appropriate spot to make everything fit better?? Just curious.
Yes. Im sure you could. Its easily bendable.
Great video, the middle skid really needs to be cut down. To much stress on the front braces.
Yep. Next installment will be doing that.
Is there not a single company anywhere that offers a 4 link front kit that gets rid of the panhard/track bar?
I have a 1tenthscale axle servo mount if you want one. I never used it. Message me if you want it.
Freakin awesome vid mi big bro!
How much is the scatter gun v2 and what comes with it?
The chassis rails are $80. They are just rails. All stock parts fit on it though.
Nice vídeo! Can use NWSD chassi for trx4 defender ?
Yes. But you will have to modify a few things. These rails are way shorter than the stock rails
@@DixielandRC thanks !!!
What kind of locking nuts and spacers did you use? Or were they misc parts? Thanks in advance! Awesome video!
Just some KNK 3mm locknuts. And the spacers are from HotRacing. Those are listed on my site.
@@DixielandRC thanks! appreciate it!
How heavy are these chassis rails compared to stock ?
I will have you an answer today.
thank you

Not that I have seen. They designers spend a bunch of time coming up with this setup so I doubt they would do that.

Man. To be honest. Try a Enduro Ecto for your performance build. No portals. But lots of other great stock things.

NWSD would probably sell these rails a lot better if they weren't gouging customers. Over $100 for aluminum rails is just plain ridiculous.
Hmm junk huh? Wanna prove that come up here we will 1 vs 1 comp 😎
