Going on my 1st cruise in 60 years in August 2025 and it’s on MSC Meravigilia Yacht Club. Watching these videos is getting me so excited for this experience. My first cruise was on the Lurline to Hawaii. I was 15 years old and it was an experience I will never forget but all these years later it’s amazing what’s on these floating beasts!
Hi, thanks so much for watching! We just got off the Celebrity Ascent in The Retreat, and it truly is an amazing ship. The food was awesome, the shows were top-notch, and the ship was super clean-everything was great! BUT, perk for perk, I feel like the Yacht Club (YC) edges out The Retreat. I’m planning to do a comparison on that soon, so stay tuned!
Thank you for an excellent video. I just booked a 3 day cruise, based on this video. I was going to do Celebrity again but your video convinced me to try this line.
Awesome! I would really like to know what you thought after your cruise and how the food was, so please comment with that update! Are you doing the Yacht Club? If so, definitely give the Spa Thermal rooms a try-I loved the snow one! I’m going on Celebrity Ascend in December; it will be my first time on Celebrity Edge Class and my first time in The Retreat! In July, I’ll be back on MSC on the new World America-can’t wait!
@sholagan Don't get my wrong I love Celebrity (prob my favorite so far) ! This was my first time on MSC. I am going on Celbrity Ascent in December - first time on that ship! Are you doing YC on your MSC?
Thanks for a 'newbie' objective cruise video!!! I am interested in a very truthful review of the food. Especially in Yacht Club. Interesting how you mention the food 'changed' between sailings!!! My biggest question was the beef, the prime rib and that filet any good? (I hear that it is good, and also that it is really bad ????) I know that the Executive Chef and the head kitchen staff can make all the difference! I wonder if these positions changed out between your cruises? When were your sailing dates?
Hi, thanks for watching! 😊 This was my 9th cruise, and I’ve dined across many options on various lines. It was our first time with MSC and in Yacht Club, and we were excited-after all, everyone said the YC restaurant was the best on the ship and that we wouldn’t need to bother with specialty dining. Spoiler alert: That didn’t quite pan out at first. We sailed twice: June 30 - July 4, 2024, and August 1 - 4, 2024. The first trip’s YC dining was, honestly, bad. From the food to the service and drinks, allthough perfect if I want to make a video called "Worst Cruise Dining Experience" :) . The prime rib was terrible, thin, overcooked, and could have easily passed as leftovers. I just stuck to the filet mignon every night-not because it was amazing, but because it was the safest bet. The other guests in our group braved a variety of dishes, but let’s just say the send-back rate was high. Lunch in YC wasn’t any better, so after the first day, we gave up on it entirely. Instead, we grabbed food from the Yacht Club pool deck during their breakfast and lunch buffets, which were surprisingly decent-for a buffet. The YC-only Ocean House on MSC’s private island was the real silver lining-everyone loved the burger and lobster roll. Outside of YC, we only tried Hola Taco, which was fantastic! On the second trip, though, the YC food and service were so much better. Even dishes we didn’t like the first time, were very good this time. However, the Prime Rib ws so bad thefirst trip that I did not bother to order it on the second trip -so I am not sure if that improved. Lunch burgers improved significantly, not amazing, but decent, and the service was on point. Something was definitely off during the first sailing, but the second trip helped to changed my opinion about MSC. While it still wasn’t the best cruise food I’ve had, I’d give it a solid 7/10. We already loved the ship and the overall experience the second time was good enough for us to book MSC World America for next July! I’d love to hear about your experience with the food in YC nxt time you sail MSC -hopefully, it’s closer to our second trip than our first!
Just got off the MSC Seaside in the yacht club It was nice but not the big hype I expected. The YC lounges/areas were nice and quiet. Not impressed with the dining. There are more selections in the MDR. The butler service was ok. Will probably not do the yacht club agein
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! As I mentioned, the first time I wasn’t impressed with the food either, but the second time it was much better-so it might depend on the sailing. I really enjoyed the Yacht Club overall and probably wouldn’t sail without it. For me, the perks like reserved seating for shows, relaxed sun decks, a pool that wasn’t overcrowded, access to the thermal spa, all-inclusive drinks, and the private beach area on Ocean Cay made it worth it. We also loved spending time in the Topsail Lounge! I’m not a fan of the MDR on most ships anymore, so having the Yacht Club restaurant was a nice alternative. I agree with you about inside cabins-I’ve done it before, but nothing beats stepping out onto your own balcony with a drink in hand. I do think all the "ship within a ship" concepts are probably overhyped (we’re trying The Retreat in December), but I feel MSC offers the most reasonably priced option. That said, whatever gets you on a cruise and having fun is always a win, YC or not!!!

That's an amazing review! I've been trying to plan a cruise for the past 3 years. I have to look up this one!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it.
We love the MSC Yacht Club, wife and I have been cruising in the Yacht Club exclusively since 2016.

Going on the MSC Seashore in 3 weeks
Also don't get the inside room in the yacht club!
