1995 300zx TT Haltech IC-7 dash fuel guage level setup Polar Engineering Nexus R5

Quick tutorial in how to set up IC-7 dash with fuel level sender. This is a Polar engineering fual pump hanger with twin walboro 450’s. Sending unit (factory applies) is OHM’s but it also put’s out voltage. Ohms mine outs out 10ohms (.002v) for full and 185.5ohms (.725v) for empty. Orange wire from cluster goes into AVIP-4. Calibration setup in video. You view the voltage by selecting the avip-4 voltage monitor channel on a spare slot to view temporarily. Gas is displayed in percentage. Can make it even more accurate by measuring/viewing at empty(won’t start) and 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, full (18.7gallons) for precise measurements. Number fluctuations/levels can be smoothed out via filter (ymmv). Ask if u have any comments. Doing this as I go along.

If you are using the polar hanger. When connecting the plugs make sure they line up and ohm both sides to make sure there is contact. I chased that for weeks. Lol🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤣. That orange wire’s male blade did not go into it’s slot.

nice video very sweet dash configurations colourway and all, one question do you select the avi to have the oil pressure check engine light to turn on before engine start like oem dash

You can set psi limits for percentages to change colors white normal and they turn to red when it is below your settings. And of course you can have the computer shut off motor as well for drop in oil psi.

Does the dash have control panel to switch between boost setting? Instead of running a extra 12 position switch or keypad

Do you have any issues with the reading changing between power cycles? Mine seems to be all over the place so I can't really trust it...

No problems at all. The read out was to sensitive so you can bump up the resolution to slow down. From like stop/go and turns. Make the readings more fluid and slow.

Is this the same sensor as the stock hanger ?

Polar came with it’s own sensor and not the factory one. But should operate the same way as stock one
