I did some Wikipedia edit history research. The page for Craig Butler appears to have been written by a Chinese-American editor called Das osmnezz. This guy seems to have written the first versions of an impressively large number of football-related pages, especially obscure football-related pages. A lot of his articles have since been heavily edited by other users, so they have a much more encyclopedic tone; but if you read some of his most obscure articles, the language is really similar to that Craig Butler article. This dude even wrote the first drafts of some notable players, like Romeo Lavia. As far as I can tell, the handful of other uses who edited Craig Butler’s page only made very minor edits. I've been watching the Jamaican league for a couple of years for reasons I'm not totally sure of. Seen a few interviews with this guy. He seems to be involved in youth development and runs the Phoenix academy, its the same guy who purchased URSL Visé in Belgium 3rd tier and sent a lot of players there and is involved in getting trials for players in Europe. Clearly though he is very full of himself like he is some kind of parallel to the Jamaican football association in a way that I'm not clear what is actually going on and what is happening behind the scenes. Zealand, I don’t know all the details about Jamaican football hierarchy, but I do know a lot about the european smaller leagues/nations and how they are being run. A lot have been formed 80’s and 70’s and 90’s. Usually the guy who had the biggest football club in that nation also took control of the national football presidency. Now they have installed their relatives(sons, brothers etc) to lead their club or nation. Taking money out of the football association via the biggest club, under their control, then spreading the money from there to their own personal interests. The rabbit hole is deep. I know fuck all about jamaican system but the small guy is often not the biggest cheat
As a Jamaican this is embarrasing, i'm really annoyed with Leon Bailey and his selfish behaviour. The Jamaican FA is incredibly flawed with hardly any experience in success but we're trying, we're building, there is a clear project that is going well hence why we qualified for Copa America and then once we finally reach this point in the project, Leon wants to reject the call up bcz he think he's bigger than the nation. I never want to see him in a Reggae boyz jersey again, we qualified without any significant contribution from him, we'll keep pushing

Like you, I can kind of see the point about someone from a club also being head of the Technical Committee could be a conflict of interest, in a larger nation. However in a nation with a smaller population such as Jamaica, most of the best players will be playing their football outside Jamaica, in USA, Mexico, or Europe I expect. Also I guess there are fewer people in the country with the sort of football qualifications needed to perform this administrative role. So Mr Spied working for one of the biggest clubs in addition to the national team (collecting two salaries), could be a good way to keep a skilled football person (assuming he is good at his job) inside the country working to improve Jamaican football. I'm guessing that Leon Bailey doesn't really care who is head of the technical committee, but maybe, just maybe, a certain someone who had an unbeaten season managing a high school team 40 years ago might think he should be head of the technical committee instead... Just a hunch.
its not even like Spied shows a bias with his club players since none of his current players were called up for copa america and only 1 of his former players was
I agree with Bailey. IF you can't afford to give players proper accommodations you shouldn't have a national team. They have prem players on the team and they travel like a American HS soccer team.
The only sporting parent who would behave like this is Jos Verstappen, though he wouldn't do all this social media/press bs he'd just walk in and headbutt the person in charge.
Frustrating as a Villa supporter and massive Bailey fan that everything I’ve seen here in the US paints Bailey out to be a villain. Seems like Leon Bailey is the Soccer version of “the Blind Side” and we all seen how that played out.
Surely the other players would rather he wasn’t involved. Also, whilst he is a good player, he is behaving like he is the second coming of Messi. On balance, it’s probably better for the team that you just tell him to do one
This entire situation feels like fuel or some weird justification for those 'fans' that always claim football outside Europe's top leagues is not real football. Whole thing reads bizarre and like a clown show.
That same dentist who was manager of Iceland when they qualified for the euros and world cup. And even beat England in the Euros round to 16 in 2016 and played against Messi’s argentina in the 2018 world cup.

Honestly this getting annoying as a Jamaican I didn't even think bailey was going to i thought they were going to just carry Hutchison or try to recruit Nelson
Zealand, buddy, he's accused of stabbing one of his literal 37 foster kids who all magically happen to want to play pro football... This is quite clearly a tragic case of mass abuse and a man taking advantage of jamacias adoption laws and need of foster parents. Alls i'm saying is you seem to be being FAR to kind to the guy
I am Jamaican The situation is not as black and white as it seems The JFF are horrible and are heavily biased just as Butler is but even more Also the "adopted" children are kids he say playing football and came to him to develop them and that is what he do he trains youth to play in Europe
I think Zealand was a bit too harsh on him. This guy IS a fucking weirdo, and he IS a massive egotist, but what he also is, is a very good talent developer. Richards would probably be starting for Jamaica at Copa along with Bailey if not for these politics. The Jamaican FA requires fundamental change and they’re going to have to deal with this guy if they want to succeed, as he represents basically all of Jamaica’s best young players.
he represents 2 of them, not all, majority of our team is based in the UK and have never interacted with butler or Phoenix. Phoenix only came into the spotlight in Leon's last 2 szns at leverkusen. We don't need them, the JFF needs work but we don't need Butler and his embarrasing behaviour
So this guy literally adopts kids and makes them play football and probably takes a salary from them since he’s their “father/agent” lol nice seems like an ethical guy
When Dick Advocaat took over Curacao national team he made sure that players where payed to be on the national team. That's one of the problems for some players not choosing to play for a caribbean island like Curacao. Curacao has some good players playing in the Dutch league that are not good enough for the Netherlands but would be great for Curacao. And these guys wont choose for Curacao because of payments and nine out of ten times they needed to pay for their own tickets. That has been changed since Dick Advocaat took over hopefully now more guys will start to choose for Curacao. Iam from Curacao myself Caribbean island don't like to pay they think you should be honored to play for your home country and they don't need to pay you anything. It's a backwards mentality that's keping much of the caribbean island behind in sports. I think for Bailey is a combination of things a money hongry asshole of a dad and Jamaica national team that doesn't like to pay his players.

Bailey would end up belgian in many saves in an fm from 5-6 years ago
The only sporting parent who would behave like this is Jos Verstappen, though he wouldn't do all this social media/press bs he'd just walk in and headbutt the person in charge.
what does bro mean by usual suspects?? 💀💀
He even had his son kyle, post a video pretending to sign a contract for Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany, the club denied ever signing him
Jamaica football federation is unprofessional so i get why he doesn't want to play for us at Copa America
Frustrating as a Villa supporter and massive Bailey fan that everything I’ve seen here in the US paints Bailey out to be a villain.
Seems like Leon Bailey is the Soccer version of “the Blind Side” and we all seen how that played out.
Why do Americans pronounce 'Craig' as 'Creg'? Always wondered.

This Wikipedia page clearly shouldn't exist.
EDIT (30 June 2024): And... it no longer does.
I just checked it and some editor has already put it up for deletion! Looks like it won’t exist for long

How could you fail to mention that the current Jamaica national football team manager is an Icelandic dentist?
That same dentist who was manager of Iceland when they qualified for the euros and world cup. And even beat England in the Euros round to 16 in 2016 and played against Messi’s argentina in the 2018 world cup.
14:04 Jos Verstappen would like to disagree
Sounds like a cult 🫤
petition for me to join the nation team
what do you mean these people? 🧐
Check Craig's hard drives
Day 28 of requesting Zealand accept his destiny as the Penguinz0 of Football youtube and wear a plain white T-shirt for these Zealandism vids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weird how the guy who runs Jamaica’s football factory is complaining about conflict of interest whilst attempting a coup of the FA.
Hi Zealand informing you about the news of the Alaskan wonderkid you made a video about, Obed Vargas. I don’t know if you saw but he has just announced that he’s made his one time switch from the usmnt to mexico.
is this the new setup? this doesn't look like the new setup to me
He's at his parent's house for fathers day
@@hesitantbeep3696Damn so he's visiting Colombia (Colombia is United States father)
@@BilliamwoodsDude you are way too high, come back down
Honestly this getting annoying as a Jamaican I didn't even think bailey was going to i thought they were going to just carry Hutchison or try to recruit Nelson
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he kidnapped them or something
jamaica are not part of the Hague Adoption Convention, so who knows what/who is looking at kids post-adoption
@@jasonduarte1246 Oh interesting. Hopefully, if im right about him being dodgy, the state comes down hard on him then
Lol
I am Jamaican The situation is not as black and white as it seems The JFF are horrible and are heavily biased just as Butler is but even more
Also the "adopted" children are kids he say playing football and came to him to develop them and that is what he do he trains youth to play in Europe
30 seconds gg
