    Now that you’ve been at it for a good while What do you recommend to be able to make 2k a month take home? I’m starting a local job tomorrow as a 1099 no experience but I want to make more money and rather do something like regional or dedicated or 4 out and 4 at home. I wanna take home like 2k a month with benefits. My buddy does a 4x4 schedule is making about that take home but just trying to hear from guys in the field.

    • @bigsmoothtruckin
      @bigsmoothtruckin  2 месяца назад

      It depends on what you mean by 4×4. I haven't heard of many jobs offering 4 days on 4 days off. But honestly, in trucking, 2k a month is super easy, once you start with that local company, you'll find out that it's easily obtainable. 4k a month isn't too hard either. Now if you meant 2k a week. That'll be different

    What is the average miles they get you per week? Is it easy to hit that 2,200 plus per week to get the .05 cent per mile bonus?
    I am doing serious thinking with a calculator. I’m scheduled for a refresher but the 2nd thoughts are hitting me. If I can hit that 2,200 miles per week consistently it’s worth it. I used to average about 3,000 per week when I did refrigerated back jn the day. This is tough man. My current employer is begging me to stay and making a counter offer…

    • @bigsmoothtruckin
      @bigsmoothtruckin  7 месяцев назад +2

      Absolutely, it will always fluctuate as you know but yea. I usually hit over 2,200 miles each week. And as for the bonus, yea that's easy to get IF you stay out the full time. You have to hit the 8,800 for the month so if you stay out the entire 4 weeks of that month, you'll definitely hit that mark.

    • @bigsmoothtruckin

      Yes, you can take the truck home, and (if you have somewhere to put it), they might let you bring the trailer home, but usually, you drop the trailer off. I personally leave it about 10 minutes from where I live because I live in the city, but a friend of mine parks it at his moms house. So wherever you can find space legally
