On February 6, 2014, CAFE invited RUclips sensation, Karen Straughan, a Canadian human rights activist, blogger and writer, to speak at the launch of the Ryerson-based Men's Issues Awareness Society. Topics covered: male suicide epidemic and violence, lack of attention to men's physical and mental health, declining male university enrollment, parental alienation against fathers, and misandry in popular culture.
From the bottom of my heart I want to thank you for standing up for my rights. I am a 37-year-old white male and if I were to speak out like this I would never hear the end of it my reputation would be completely destroyed and probably also my livelihood. So once again I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Qoul Wan She got paid not to show up at a university event after she claimed to have been receiving death threats. They hired more security as she requested then got paid not to show up.
I heard that the investigation deternined that she sent the threats to herself. But I can't corraborate that.
Wow, thanks for that. I heard she didn't show up, but I didn't know she still got paid, or that she may have staged the threats. Just unbelievable what some of these people will do. I don't know if she really believes what she is pushing, or if she is just running a scam. She got paid a lot of money to just sit on her bum and play video games all day.
so is there any sources for this supposed "hearing" or is this all made up with zero evidence and not a bit of proof? Oh yes you yourself admit that you can't corroborate your own claim so why bother saying it.
I feel like Straughan needs to be put in front of bigger audiences. She is definitely one of the stronger public speakers of everyone that argues what she argues, yet has nowhere near the audience.
She is a stronger speaker becouse she's telling the f¨cking truth, wich is most part of the time undeniable.

Men, do not hesitate for one moment to put a restraining order against your female partner if you feel your safety and health is in jeopardy. Placing a permanent restraining order on my female ex-partner was absolutely the wisest protective move of my adult lifetime. My only regret is not doing it years earlier. Men, be safe!

I am in the accounting and finance field and men are slowly being pushed out of the field. My last client had 16 people in the accounting department and there were only 3 males. Women are more likely to hire women because they feel less threatened unless the male has a lot of feminine qualities. If a department consists of all or the majority are women, then discrimination is never even considered. If a department consisted of all men, there would be all kind of legal issues.
Their intention is to have ALL positions of power and authority occupied by women.
The men can continue to do all The hard, unpleasant, dirty work of course but indirection of a part time women who knows fork all about the job. What little she does know was taught to her in academia, not the cereal work.
Of course, once they succeed there will be no talk of equality for men!

I have been through a divorce - and I understand how my X-wife got a great deal and I got screwed - just because I am a man. She got sole custody of our children. She gets to live in a home and sees our children every day - where I have to pay the mortgage - get visitation rights only and see our children once a month only. It isn't fair. Nobody stands up for my rights.
If I do something my X-wife doesn't like - she will deny me access to my children for 3 to 6 months - depending on how upset my actions made her. And she demands I continue giving her money every month and continue paying the mortgage. Also while we were married - I supported her for 10 years while she attended university and got her masters.
So I do feel that I have been made a second class citizen just because I am a man. So am I obsolete? Without my income - she wouldn't have a privileged life.

This woman is so eloquent. Intelligence and logic....just what the world needs. That there are those who spew this idea that men are obsolete both sickens and enrages me. I've had to go to war with female teachers spewing white privilege more than a few times. More so for the younger two, as times have changed so much. And not for the better. Proud mother of 3 stellar young men ages 24, 19 and 10 here :)

If a woman can abort a baby without the mans input, or keep the baby and force him to pay for the care of it. Then a man should be able to sign a paper and abdicate all rights and responsibilities for a child.

Thanks Karen, no one ever thinks my work is important so I appreciate the thought. If you live in Southern Ontario and have eaten frozen food in the last 5 years, chances are it went through my hands. I break my back in -30C for 8 hours a day to feed everybody.

The question itself implies that men's purpose for existing is to serve women's interests. Our existence is not defined by the needs or wants of manipulative women, onerous bosses or an exploitative society. Whether we would or would not serve somebody else's interests is not a concern to us. Deal with your own problems and issues and leave us out of it, we have better and more important things to do.

Well, because no party had it's own majority and the Social democrats parti and the Communist parti refused to form a coalition with each other, nor with the NSDAP obviously, which of course likewise had no interest in doing so either. But yeah once in power, maybe only 10 % were party members, although it sounds a bit low from what I remember. But you could be right, so I'll guess I trust you on that number for now ; )

Actually, the Nazi party received something like 32% of the popular vote as a party in the parliamentary elections of 1931 (or was it 1930?) and in that election gained a higher percentage vote than any other party, but they never did gain a majority, that is, prior to Hitler being appointed chancellor in a backroom deal and then every other election after that was rigged. Prior to the market crash of 1929, the Nazi party garnered its low of something like 6% of the vote.

There's only one person I could qualify as a 'genuine feminist' in your terms, and that's Christina Hoff Sommers. Right now, we only have the post modern feminists, and the anti-feminists. Karen is simply an anti-feminist. 'Genuine feminism' is dead, and 'soft' feminism doesn't exist. The only people who claim that there's a difference between the radical ones and the normal ones are the ignorant ones who didn't delve into the topic.

As a collective, men are not obsolete. But as individuals, they're to women, individually (in terms of relationship and marriage). Both men and women can earn money, but only women can give birth (add a sprinkle of gynocentrism, and the perceived degree of obsolescence becomes larger than the actual degree of obsolescence).

Maybe. But the same could also be said for men about women
Guys are the ones checking out of even looking for dates/relationships/marriage. This is already a big statistical incline. Women, however, are still chasing relationships but with false conditioning. At a core societal level, it seems that a gap of values is increasing between men and women on the best structure for family, added with women increasingly becoming more interested in their self through career rather than a legacy of family.
It's all going to end up disastrously, though, for both sexes. Material misery is a short-term sugar. It makes people unhealthy. You can not buy happiness, only short-term gratification as an expression of social status. (The "I own a Ferrari so that means im better than you!" types) This also will lead to increased narcissism.
Without structure, society becomes soup without a bowl.
The real question isn't about society without men or a society without women? It's where society will be without healthy family units?
