Man I honestly feel like it doesn’t matter how it “sounds” because you can build any tone with a amp sim you want to make it sound good. I’ve come to terms with it being all about how the guitar feels.
So true. For me, I tend to use one tone setup and then I really hear the difference. For example, I've learned I hate swamp ash built guitars. The wood adds a brightness to the pickups I don't appreciate at all. I have a Schecter KM6 and I have to add an EQ to compensate it's brightness. It the only guitar in my collection I have to do that. The KM7 I have is the right kind of chime because of the drop A.
@@MiikeyLawless Michael Peretto I have an Ibanez Iceman with Holcomb Duncans, and they are super thick sounding. Put the same pups in the KM6, and they were super bright. Ash is a brighter wood than Mahogany. I don't play my KM's as much as I would like because of that reason.
@@Noshimonoriku interesting. I notice it has a bit more growl, but not necessarily "bright". Then again, mine are old (80s/90s) so they maybe a different type of ash.
Regarding the price -- I perhaps didn't explain it in the best way -- so this guitar was part of a special run which started in February 2019 and just finished up in which the price was $690 USD with free shipping. You can see what I am referring to here: bit.ly/2HA2oub
I have the same amp and I'm able to get all the tones I could want (except Djent. I need a compressor for that) with it. Only complaint is there's no connection for a cab on it.
I've been eyeing this brand for a while but was waiting for someone I trust to give one of their models a good spin. For a backup 7 string, that's a decent price. I'm assuming this is around the same ballpark of quality as an Iron Label (when they dont suck ass)
Holy fuck I just saw the part about the ball end and stainless frets 😧 at this price point yeah, that is bananas. As long as the pickups still sound good too, them being straight might be a good thing for swapping. Damn.
Michael Czesnozki Yeah exactly! I heard 690 for a headless that didn’t look or sound half bad and went to do my research and couldn’t hardly find shit about them. And you’re completely right, definitely not AB’s fault that the company jacked up prices after his review. They probably got some interest after this review and figured they’d try and capitalize. I’ll just stick with what I know. 🤘🏻
You diagnosed your own problem dude. *The pole pieces not aligning with the strings. *the string falling off the fretboard. *the bridge being loose. You’re bridge or neck is misplaced. You need to release the tension on the neck screws (if it’s bolted. I didn’t see), pull or push the neck up or down, (push down in your case) and tighten again while holding it in place. If it’s the bridge it can be fixed with some minor (MINOR) sanding and re screw but I would send it back if any of this was out of my range of being bothered haha. Good luck man. Maybe it’s just a weird design.
one of the 1st things I noticed was how off the B string was in terms of bridge placement before you even mentioned it.. but for 700usd! ?!?!?!?! not horrible right
If you still have the guitar, can you please weigh it and post its weight? I can't find its weight anywhere. If possible the exact weight please, not an estimate. Thanks much.
It's not under $700 dollars. It's $875 before tax with $75 in shipping. Provided I use my states tax rate and apply shipping after tax, it comes to $1011.32. I don't know if they hiked the price after you filmed the video or they are paying you to lie, or what's up. But, if they hiked it after this video, because they figured after you video they'd get alot of traffic, that's really scummy. But I'm not one to jump to conclusions. So I'll leave it as just a general point.
I’m sure it’s what he paid for it. Even with it coming out to $1011.32 it’s still a deal. Good luck finding a better hand built guitar with the same specs my guy!
It's definitely not some grand conspiracy like that haha, but fair enough that I perhaps didn't explain it very well. They did a group run starting back in February in which the guitars were $690 with free shipping, here's a link to one of the final posts about it before the run closed: bit.ly/2HA2oub
Big thank you to GOC Guitars for sending me this one!

That guitar is the offspring of Sarah Longfield and Andrew Baena's guitars.

...nice.
i think a price of $694.20 would be much nicer

That's some C R I S P Y tone. Very clean & distorted just right!
Just got my first headless guitar this week an Orsmby Golliath and i'm in love with it
Just got mine today! Freaking insane quality that can't be captured in photos/videos.
Can you do huge mark holcomb style chords without losing clarity (even with distortion)?
I have the Atlaswood prototype they made. Pretty nice guitar!
damn, you need to post a vid on it
Reminds me of a strandberg very cool guitar!
That songs breakdown that starts with the honk/horn is hilarious.. made me lol hard
If you didnt say the song name, I would've thought this was Bullet for my valentine with 7 string tuning 😂😂😂😂
Dude I love swamp ash guitars. I had a 1993 Jackson stealth xl professional in trans blue, and damn I loved that thing. Until it got stolen 😭

hey, did you get your goc already? are you happy with it? :) I think about to order one too
That is a fucking awesome shirt, my dude.
very nice BUT the action looks pretty high from one of the shots you were panning over. is the neck thin and fast low action or?

I went to the site it’s not $690 it’s $850 for the headless models.
It was $690 for the group run
Bee Kay well it says it’s 850 on the site, so you can’t get one for 690. Just pointing that out.

Bro, ask Fast guitars if you can demo their headless model.
From some of those shots the action looks pretty high... I think a setup could get that guitar to feel 10x better, atleast for my taste
Lol the great andrew vs wenge battle rages on.
I find it quite funny when he says "by a band called..." . It always sounds like he's telling us a brand that he none of us have heard of lol 🤣
I mean, some people who are new might not, but these are rather big names (except for like Dealer and such) that he mentions.
How do you tune a guitar like this?
You turn those knurled pegs at the bridge

Something about this guitar growls like nobody's business. Also your playing in video is tight as fuck dude.
You're using that plugin that Alex from Whitechapel was teasing huh 😏
where do you find these plugins?
The GOC website seems to not work well on tablets. It's just showing the middle section with no way to scroll to the other guitars on either side.

if you had to buy that guitar would you have bought it knowing what you know?

how do you tune it?
No acoustic intro?
