I cannot understand, mine will not come off, this is so frustrating, I am turning clockwise and everything. I have tried countless time with so much strength to try and budge the cog, its starting to flake the brass off the cog teeth, im ready to give up. I don't get how everyone's is so simple mine is impossible to budge, please any tips!!!!

Hi Matthew, sorry for the delay. You may have already sorted this. I’ve only just seen your message. Yeah, mine wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have the mole grips too tight either. I think if you may need grips on both ends and try turning off from the male end. Failing that you may need to try and grind off the brass nut.

I don't get it. Which ends you turn clockwise to OPEN?

It’s the bottom bolt you turn clockwise with a flat blade screwdriver. Then anti-clockwise to screw the new one on. Sorry for the late response

I will never buy another Magic Bullet or a Nutri Bullet.
If I'd known the outside black plastic ring at the base of one of my Magic Bullet cups would crumble after using it around 13 times, I wouldn't have bought it. I suspect that the other cups may also have the same problem.

i have never had this problem but I think it's because i place the cup on whilst the unit is off and then use the switch at the wall to switch it on. I found that if the unit is on and then you engage the cup, it grinds it for a split second and that causes wear.

It wouldn't make sense to me to place the cup on the base while the motor is on. I always make sure it's off each time I put the cup on, also for my safety.
I've had an Oster smoothie blender for years and it's still working fine; it also has plastic housing at the base.
I rarely used the Magic Bullet, and used Oster most of the time, so maybe the plastic dried up and became brittle, because of lack of use, which would be evidence that the plastic housing does not hold up for long.
I also have a 45 year old Osterizer blender and the housing at the base feels like very hard plastic, and it still works like new.
