He's almost certainly supposed to be the Antichrist. In Christianity, death was brought into the world by people seeking knowledge (the Kirijo group) with the fall and Christ conquered death by sacrificing Himself (like the MC) giving everybody salvation from the curse. In Persona 3, Takaya literally offers everybody 'salvation' which amounts to the opposite of what Christ promised and claims to be the true Messiah (like the Antichrist) but merely prophesizes the coming of Nyx, not claiming to be Nyx, while Christ is one person in two natures, humanity and divinity, (like Ryoji).
@@DreamlessSleepwalker That's what I thought when I finished the game yesterday. Because, in the the last book of the bible, revelation, it is emphasised that the false messiah will come before the end of the world and will be defeated by Jesus. Christ, will save the world and kill the false messiah and the false prophet. The false prophet, can be interpreted as Nyx maybe, but Takaya is certainly depicted as the false messiah while Makoto is the real messiah who saves the world.
@@myourjobrobutimnot2845 Yeah although if you really want to fully understand what the Christian imagery is supposed to mean you should read Heidegger (although have fun understanding him without a philosophy background... it's actually impossible since Being and Time just presupposes you know a ton of stuff).
We all know Takaya isn't Jesus, he's just an average Florida Man
