Missed opportunity to include the fact that Legends Arceus doesn't actually take place in the past but instead takes place in the post-apocalyptic future.
The reason why it's that is because of the way how time travel works in Pokémon, as we know that grandfather paradoxes are possible in Pokémon, but not bootstrap paradoxes, and this is important because in Legends Arceus, near the end of the game, the protagonist defeated Volo and Giratina in a long and arduous battle, altering the timeline and preventing the bad future from happening in the process, but the aftermath is what ultimately determines the timeline placement of Legends Arceus, because if Legends Arceus took place in the past, then it would mean that the protagonist is from the bad future and because of this, after defeating Volo and preventing the bad future from happening, the protagonist would start to slowly disappear into non-existence, as the protagonist had inadvertently created a grandfather paradox, however, what actually happened after defeating Volo and preventing the bad future from happening is that the protagonist doesn't disappear and instead simply continues to exist, implying that the protagonist can't actually be from the bad future and therefore Legends Arceus can't actually take place in the past, meaning that the protagonist must instead be from the past and therefore Legends Arceus must instead take place in the post-apocalyptic future.

One thing you missed was Arceus’ punishment. Arceus punished Dialga and Palkia so they couldn’t use Roar of Time and Spacial Rend by blocking Dialga’s throat and removing Palkia’s arms. This explains their new forms

It's not a punishment, the only one that was punished was Giratina and Origin Dialga and Palkia can still use their signature moves. The name origin form implies that's how Dialga and Palkia looked when Arceus first created them, likely made them basing on itself. But the imperfect Roar of time and Spacial rend caused by the throat and lack of arms led to Arceus adjusting them into the form we know.

It is much more likely that Alder's Ancestor is a member of the so-called Hisui Clan, the clan that we aren't told about the island is named after. Hisui means 'halcyon' or 'jade'. We see the color jade in Alder's Ancestor's clothing, but we also see it in Cogita's tent and Cogita's tent is built in an identical fashion to what the two clans use.
Cogita does not appear to be herself from Hisui, for the following reasons:
    - She knows of Kalosian/Paldean/Galarian fashion.
    - She exhibits traits associated with Romanticism, a reaction to the enlightenment that emphasized a return to nature, a fascination with death and the sublime, of high emotions, and a byronnic unhappiness.
    - She exhibits stereotypically white nobility traits, with animations that suggest a noble frailty to every action.
If Cogita's foreign, then she got the green tent from someone else. She lives in what is called "The Hidden Village" in Japanese. If you consider now that there's only one person in the whole game associated with the color green, then it stands to reason that Cogita inherited her role and her current accommodations from Alder's Ancestor, who either died or left the island afterwards.
She, like Volo, appears to not identify with the term 'Celestica', but with the term 'Sinnoh', which is probably the name of the people that preceded the Ancient Hero and those who fled the island in an unspecified time period that resembles the red sky event. If that is the case, it would explain why Volo is obsessed with answers and Arceus allowing suffering, while Cogita is more aloof; they are both the descendants of ancient Sinnohan refugees.
It is probable that at some point in the past, the Diamond and Pearl Clan came from Sinjoh to Hisui, to discover that their ancestral homeland was still inhabited, in spite of expecting that it would one day be abandoned to only the pokémon who lived there. Several generations in, the inhabitants were absorbed by the newcomers or pushed out, and Cogita meets the final non-partisan original inhabitant, whom she learns the truth from. She then chooses to stay behind, bathing in byronnic unhappiness, until the prophecy comes true that Alder's Ancestor told her about.
Alder's Ancestor may have used the Cave of Being in search of ancestors and ended up in Unova instead, explaining how his descendants ended up there.

I'm surprised you didn't bring up that the player character might not actually be from the future, and could just be a human from the real world. I don't think the game ever actually confirms that your character is a time traveler, and you can give some dialogue options that imply you are from a world without pokemon.

Will update this as I watch - some corrections
1 - I think the Arceus we fight at the end of LA is Arceus' true form, it gives us a piece of itself that looks the same, sure - but there's no reason to think that the form we see isn't its true identity.
2 - Melli is related to Penny - and by association - Peony, Peonia and Rose
3 - Chansey and Blissey don't actually heal you, its just an animation to make it seem like they do, the health recovery rate stays the same
4 - Cubchoo isn't the only Pokémon mentioned not in the game - one example is Copperajah being in Raichu's dex entry
5 - Ingo likely isn't a "Faller" - that's a term used for people who appear from Ultra Wormholes, not Space-Time Distortions

Also for 14:17 the game being centered around time and space rift and mentionned everywhere in the own game, even Arceus when you fight him say that you conquered both space and time then the more likely outcome is the character you play as simply didn't exist in this parallel timeline wich is why Arceus send you here to save this world
I also think Arceus sent you in a Alternate earth because in the protagonist original world either Cyrus didn't exist or they came from a world withouth Pokemon meaning the payable character had no purpose wich could make sense since Akari/Rei seemed bored on the bed before seeing Arceus and also PLA got a obvious Isekai setting (wich could add up with the protagonist having no succes/goal in their original world since it's common in Isekai)

Theoretical connections you mentioned that I strongly disagree with:
    - Hapu and Sabi. They're both short girls, that's it. Their cheeks and overall appearances aren't very similar.
    - Calaba and Mina, disproved by Calaba's younger art.
    - Gaeric and Crasher Wake. Not sure where you got that one, since he's not related to wrestling, Water types, or very similar to Crasher Wake in appearance.
    - Laventon and Leon/Hop. The concept art of Laventon without his hat shows that his hair doesn't match either brother, both in color and in style. He's definitely from Galar, but that alone isn't much to go off of.
    - Iscan and Nessa. Dark skin and type specialization alone are not evidence of relation.
    - Palina and Magnolia/Sonia. I really just don't see it. Also, wouldn't it be safe to assume Iscan and Palina get married and would share descendants, so their descendants would have aspects of both?
    - Tuli and Greta/Bianca. I guess the hair color is kinda there (albeit a bit off since Tuli isn't a yellow-blonde), but that's really it. The hair style isn't that similar to either present-day character.
    - Meli and Avery. Long hair (stylized differently between the two) and type usage alone are not enough evidence.
    - Irida and May/Serena. There is zero resemblance.
    - "You erase your ancestor." I'd instead argue that your rival is your ancestor, regardless of gender.
Volo is not a time traveler or an immortal. All the "evidence" is way too circumstantial, nothing concrete. I've left plenty of comments on Toby's videos about how incorrect this is.
That image is obviously not Alder. That's another one I've left comments on Toby's videos disagreeing with him. An Alder ancestor though, that's likely. It's nothing more than fan fiction to say that the man in the portrait and Alder are the same.
Cogita is not immortal. Her statement of "she will be in your care for now" is clearly that Enamorus will become a free-roaming spirit once again. Note that she never had possession of it, had only befriended it. It also makes no sense for her to be the originator of the Old Verses; recall that she had to think to remember how one of them goes. Perhaps she transcribed them at some point, though.
I find it highly unlikely that Hisui and Kalos were at war in AZ's time, considering they're presumably on opposite sides of the Pokemon world.

It barely expands the understanding about pokémon history (besides, a thing that nearly every pokémon player knows NOTHING about).
It is almost entirely about human history.
Sure, it reveals that Arceus can use D/P/G's powers at will, but it was already known Arceus is a cresture of control that trapped the 3 dragons to force-serve xit.
It reveals how Arceus came to care about humans, but again, it's part human history, and it's not really relevant to the history of Pokémon.
It reveals a little bit about the dawn of the multiverse, when the dragons were free, but apart from this information it doesn't tell further.
It also reveals Giratina's powers a bit more which is...something.
The real main lore thing related to pokémon here was the canonization of the 90s lore of Pokéballs, previously only written in an official magazine, a gruesome description of how Pokéballs force Pokémon to shrink theough injections of tranquillizers, tested on a Primeape that caused his death. Laventon re-confirmed it as game-canon by stating that Pokéballs force Pokémon to shrink.
This is, human history actually lol but it does reveal about Pokémon history a lot, for those few gems that know the Pokémon lore, by revealing that Pokémon shrink when exhausted.

one thing you missed with Meli is that his hair also resembles Lucian's, the Sinnoh psychic E4 member, making him and Avery potentially related.
also, I offer up my own theory for the list that I think you will find very interesting: Cynthia is Volo reincarnated.
each ancestor is given about one or two things that hint to their family line. most are a visual clue+a pokemon clue (like Sanqua's hair+the umbreon) or a visual clue+an affinity for a certain element or behavior pattern. but Volo and Cogita are different. Cogita is the one with a simple visual clue that makes her seem related to Cynthia, specifically in her all black wardrobe and knowledge of Hisui's legends. all 3 share the black teardrop item and the blond hair swoop, but those are clearly meant to be features of the Celestica people, and not Cynthia specifically. therefor, only Cogita has the same limited and subtle-but-not clues to her connection like everyone else.
where as Volo has *so many* it's legitimately insane. in fact, it's outright overkill, like we're being beaten over the head with it and that's what makes me think there's more to it. Volo has Cynthia's theme, almost her exact team down to always starting with Spiritomb, they both have the same "The Researcher of Myths" title, they both spend the whole game sneaking up on the player and overseeing our progress throughout the story.
to me, these feel like they're *too* specific. like, the very second his official art was shown we all instantly knew he was related to Cynthia, we didn't need ANY of this to tell us that. his hair alone was all we needed. for them to go to this length to connect them, it feels as if it's meant to tell us there's more to their connection than a mere family tree.
but what really synches it for me, is the story. Volo uses Giratina in an attempt to subjugate Arceus and bend it to his will in order to create a world without suffering, and when he's defeated, he vows no matter how long it takes he will meet Arceus.
in Platinum, when Cyrus does the exact same thing, it's Giratina who appears to put a stop to it, as if recognizing and remembering what happened before, and where Cynthia works together with the player to stop Cyrus (and side note, the PLA player is the exact same character as the player in D/P/PT/BDSP and it's likely this event is why they were chosen to go back in time to stop Volo. they'd already proven they were strong enough to do exactly what was needed), and it's after this that Cynthia is able to meet Arceus in the Sinjoh ruins event, fulfilling Volo's wish after helping to prevent a repeat of history, repenting Volo's sins.
I believe Volo died some time after the game's events, but through the piece left with the player who then showed Arceus the world through human eyes, it decided to give Volo another chance in a new life, one not marred by pain and suffering, but still connected to his beloved Celestica people. it's through this new life that Cynthia retains her love of Arceus and Sinnoh's myths and past, carrying over much of Volo's innocent traits (his love for his team, sneaking up on people, his prowess in battle etc) but that lack of suffering allowed Cynthia to be a far better person and love with her heart fully unclouded, making her a powerful force for good. but this time it's Cyrus who had the painful childhood (possibly related to the ghosts of the old chateau) who caused him to develop the same ideology Volo once did, and it is due to Cynthia's actions in helping to stop Cyrus's plan (and therefor repenting Volo's sin) that Arceus blesses her and fulfills Volo's one true wish.

    • @blastchaos4286

@@blastchaos4286 That's possible, but the more likelier option is the one that doesn't involve parallel timelines and instead involves Legends Arceus taking place in the post-apocalyptic future, which it most likely does.

I think the intended interpretation is that the player is meant to be their own ancestor, with that being a general fact. It can also be theorized that the reason Giratina dragged Cyrus to the Distortion World is because of that change of heart he had after he was beaten. Thus, the player’s actions in PLA helped the events of DPPl occur, especially if we are to believe that the protagonist of DPPl became the PLA protagonist approximately 5 years later.

    • @candyneige6609
      @candyneige6609 2 месяца назад +1

@@The_Biscuit_From_Heaven Except that becoming one's own ancestor is considered a bootstrap paradox, and the rules of time travel in Pokémon make it clear that bootstrap paradoxes are impossible (but that grandfather paradoxes are still possible), so the real intended interpretation is that Legends Arceus takes place in the post-apocalyptic future, meaning that the player is from the past.

I dont understand why people still powerscale and overhype pokemons after this game released, they showed how not powerful these supposed gods are
    1) Giratina the supposed God of Antimatter, ran away in fear of a 15 year old, remember how fans overhyped it by saying its the God of Antimatter? guess what a 15 year old is enough to scare it away and Giratina couldn't even use any of its Antimatter powers
    2) Arceus the supposed God is so useless that it couldn't even stop Giratina from making pokemon go berserk and needed a 15 year old's help to do so
    3) a 15 yr old is also enough to fight and dodge Arceus the supposed God of pokemon and before you say that Arceus was a fraction, it's never stated that it was a fraction, we fight the full Arceus, the Arceus we receive is the fraction, not the one we fight, we fight the full one
but pokemon fans will still stay in denial because of their lack of reading comprehension skills

    • @Shinntoku
      @Shinntoku 2 месяца назад +5

      1) We were brought by god to be a hero and defeat him, and we do. Young heroes standing up to godly forces is an *extremely* common trope and we have a team of superpowered monsters. It makes complete sense that it runs away after we first defeat it.
      2) Arceus, like many supreme deities, doesn't usually interfere with the world that directly. It was more than enough to send a hero to stop Giratina, as that allows people to grow rather than relying on Arceus to fix every problem.
      3) No, the form we fight is not Arceus' true form, we see that at the start of the game and it's an all-encompassing light that we otherwise can't understand
But please, go on about reading skills.

      1) so Legends Arceus is just a common trope and not the change the pokemon games needed? also that's not how a God works, Antimatter and Matter touching causes a huge explosion and you are saying a God pf Antimatter can't even control and use Antimatter? what kind of god is that?
      2) Arceus is just useless, if it wasn't it would have stopped Giratina from opening portals, especially since according to "lore" Giratina was already banished by Arceus, why did Arceus use force on Giratina and banish him before then? should have just watched instead of interfering
      3) that intro Arceus is just a copy of Breath of the Wild intro, nothing more, we fight the full Arceus but are given a fraction, if we were fighting a fraction the dialogue would have said that (as pokemon is notorious for dialogues) but it never specified it

      @Shinntoku 2 месяца назад +2

@@theamazingspooderman2697 tf you mean "that's not how a god works"? Also Giratina's antimatter has never been scientific antimatter, otherwise it would explode just by entering the normal world. It's "antimatter" meaning the opposite of the material pokemon world, disordered time and shattered, frozen space.
Did you even play PLA? Arceus only banished Giratina *after* the legendary hero defeated him. Because Arceus wants humans to be able to solve thier own problems. This is how stories work, conflicts arise and characters have to solve them. There would be no game if Arceus just fixed everything immediately.
How is it a copy of BotW?? They're *completely* different. BotW starts with Link waking up hearing Zelda's voice, PLA starts with us seeing true form of Arceus as it sends us back in time and changes our phone into the arc phone. And the Arceus we catch is literally the same one we fight, so yes, it's only a fragment.

just search up Legends Arceus vs BoTW, you will see the pic of similarity between them or just watch a Gireum Red review of Legends Arceus
the Arceus we fight is the full form, the one we get is the only fraction, before that it was full
also Giratina doesn't explode because it's controlling its Antimatter, but that contradicts the fact that it can't even use its Antimatter powers against a child who is a random civilian, so in conclusion, pokemon isn't meant to be taken seriously but the fans do, for some reason

    • @Shinntoku

@@theamazingspooderman2697 once again, Giratina is not the scientific concept of antimatter, it can't just instantly annihilate you, and if it could, there wouldn't be a game. And Giratina is allowed to hide in a cave is so you can catch it, where it's revealed that battling you and seeing you defend the world so fiercely changed it's mind and now it plans to help the world instead of plotting against it (see: the end of Platinum where it stops Cyrus from destroying the universe by dragging him into the Distortion World).
I've played plenty of BotW. There are similarities for sure but it's absolutely silly to write off seeing Arceus' true form as "just copying botw"
No, it was against a fragment of Arceus. Every time we see a physical form of Arceus it is a fragment it sent to journey with a trainer. You catch the exact same Arceus that you fight, there's no scene where it creates a lesser form for you to catch after battling it.
