RYOBI PRESSURE WASHER

  • I bought a Ryobi gas powered pressure washer rated at 2900 psi and 2.5 gpm to use around the house and for a sewer jetter. i purchased this power washer from Home Depot for right around $300. I specifically wanted this model of pressure washer because it uses a horizontal shaft small engine rather than a vertical shaft engine. It features a 212 cc engine ( 6.5 hp ) and uses an axial cam pump rather than a triplex pump, but, for light to moderate residential use, it should work fine. Included are 25' of high pressure hose, 3 different angle spray tips, 1 soap tip, pressure wand, and the engine oil is included also.

    UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

      I think it's a really good machine at a good price point and mime has been completely reliable. With minimal maintenance, it should last many, many years. Just remember to either drain the gas tank or use a quality fuel stabilizer, occasionly use a pump protector, and change the oil regularly. Thanks for watching!👍

      That gas seems to be old. The reason I say that is because when you leave gas in the new gas canisters like the one in the video. They build up pressure and when you press that safety button it comes out the way it did like if he turned the gas can on and acted like a pressure washer. He was supposed to turn the cap at least a turn a full turn or half until you hear the air coming out then put the gas in. (If it’s old I wouldn’t had used it. Will screw up the carb with old gas and build up inside the reservoir/container

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  3 года назад

      Where I live, roughly half or so of the gas stations offer it as an option so it's pretty easy to find. Other than that, maybe try a marina if you have one near since it's popular with boaters. Other than that, I don't really know. As long as you're not storing fuel with ethanol in it for extended periods, it should ok to use ethanol.

    • @BaronVonSparklefarts
      @BaronVonSparklefarts Год назад

      Some gas stations provide ethanol fuel but as the video poster noted, it's normally around marinas or other bodies of water. Im fortunate enough to have a Sheetz nearby that carries ethanol free gas. Barring a local gas station that sells ethanol free gas, you can normally find it at Home Depot in their outdoor power tools section. It's way more expensive to buy it at the home despot, but if it is your only option, than so be it.

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  2 года назад

      Assuming the water hose is properly connected and with no kinks, it should be flowing water through. Have you tried connecting the water hose to the pump and starting it without the pressure hose connected to see if water will shoot out of the pump? If water comes out of the pump then there's no problem on that end. Other than that, I could I could only imagine an issue with the pressure hose or gun although that would be highly unlikely on two different units.

      I only use non-ethanol gas in these small engines. You can use regular gas for sure but try to use it all up and not let it sit in the tank. The water from the ethanol gas seperates from the rest of the gas and pools up on the bottom of the tank if it just sits for a while and can cause rough running, make it hard to start, or even not run in some cases. It's an easy fix if that happens by just draining the tank (and maybe carburetor) and putting in fresh gas. So you are having a hard time starting it?

    Where do I buy ethanol gas and also what type of oil my was a rebuilt and no info on this. Thanks

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  2 года назад

      You want non-ethanol gas if you can find it. Where I live, many gas stations offer both ethanol and non-ethanol. It can also be found at marinas and places near the water where boats get fuel. If you cannot find non-ethanol gas, it's ok to use gas with ethanol as long as you either drain the tank, use up all the fuel in the tank or use a fuel stabilizer like Sta•Bil fuel treatment. As for the oil, I usually use 30 weight oil in all my outdoor equipment. If that's not available I will use regular 10 w30 oil.

    This is okay for cars and car carpets right?

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  2 года назад +1

      It's definitely ok for cars, I use it to wash ours. I'm not sure you would want to clean the car carpets with it unless you removed them first but if you did I'm sure it would blast the filth out.

    Would you recommend it?

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  2 года назад

      Yes, I would. Having owned it for about a year now, I can say that it's been completely reliable and has handled every task that I've needed done. I did a good bit of research before buying this model and I've owned larger, professional and much more expensive pressure washers back when I had a small pressure washing business. In my opinion, this washer is the perfect balance of price, performance and reliability for a homeowner. It needs very little maintenance, just use a good gas additive or drain the gas tank, use a pump protector when storing it, and change the oil every so often, this will eliminate 99% of any problems. Many people get one for occasional use and when they're done, they just put it up. The gas breaks down and gums up the carburator and the seals on the pump dry out, both of which are very easy to prevent. This axial cam pumps can easily last hundreds of hours if taken care of.

      I think it is. I've used it several times on both of mine and the adjustable tips it comes with helps. Plus I like not having to go to the carwash.

    • @AllAmericanMack
      @AllAmericanMack  3 года назад +1

      I try to avoid ethanol fuel only because the water in it tends to seperate from the rest of the fuel when it sits for a while. Additives like Sta*bil can help though. When I run 10% ethanol in small engines I will either run all the fuel out or pull the tube to the carb and drain the tank if I won't be using it for a while. I use a generator for work and I just use any gas in it since it won't sit more than a couple days.
