RE: "Are Anemones corals?" Actiniaria (Anemones) are within the class Hexacorallia, making corallimorpharia ("mushrooms"), scleractinia (SPS+LPS), and zoantharia (Zoas) their closest relatives. Octocorallia houses the leathers, xenia, GSP, etc. Hexacorallians are more closely related to one another than they are to Octocorallians, but we call both classes "Corals". I think the general distinction and why we don't always refer to nems as corals comes down to their mobility, which is *generally* unique to the group. But then again, Fungia are definitely "corals" and can move around as well... Also, coral taxonomy is a huge mess anyway and perhaps it doesn't really matter in the end if they are or aren't "coral". If anybody has more insight into the distinction, I'd love to learn!
Hexacorallia are generally referred to as "False coral" in the phylogeny world, difference is the splitting of the clads to 6 and 8 tentacles around the oral disc and formation of colonial polyps. Next distance relations include scyphozoans , hydrozoans, and cubazoans (ie, jelly fish, hydra, cuboids). The octocorallia developed colonial polyps and then stoney bases which is what became the True corals. Yes it matters if they are True corals or False corals; this is a science based hobby, and the husbandry differs based on evolutionary stresses and what clad they belong too. It's like calling a cat a dog. Each coral requires totally different biomolecules for survival.
I got a long nose hawkfish 2 weeks ago and he is definitely my favorite fish. So much personality in small fish, he basically begs for food like a puppy anytime I walk in the room.
I’m pumped for those FragBox tanks. Hopefully you have them for sale by end of summer. Gonna be setting up a nano when I get done with vacations this summer.
I have 2 bta, pink and sunburst. They hide under a rock and they totally bleeched. All white.Changed my rocks to they cant hide.Collor comes back and they looked amazing andbubbly.Afther a while they turned brown and i dont know why.Water parameters are good and light is good also.I am stuck
man i want a bta so bad, but ive had horrible luck with them. ive had 2, the first one got a bacterial infection and died, the one i have now is staying cupped up for some reason. my rock flower nems love my tank, but not bta
I habe 2 Anenome in my tank and one of the two split sk i habe 3 now. And i place them where i wsnt them and they habe stayed for over a year now. They like tight small holes or crevices. Pick the smallest ans tightest holes and hold them until they attach and they will pull themselves down realky tight and never move.
Wow this is insane! Look at the sizes of you Nems. Here in the states you pay $200 in a store for a golf ball sized rbta. Idk how they sell them because local reefers are much cheaper. US LFS are crazy expensive. Sad.
I feel like this video is older. Unless you guys redid the IM20s scape in the last 24 hours. Also nems… Homie don’t play that. They can be beautiful in someone else’s tank

If you provide the conditions they like, you can control where they are likely to end up. Their foot likes a deep crevasse...
Yep!
This is exactly what I’ve found. It’s retracted into the crevasse at night then stretches out in the day. So far hasn’t moved.

Awesome vid! What camera do you use?
Yay kitchen tank! 😁🐶
Every-time I try BTAs they wander around for a couple days then perish, i have a mini maxi and thats ok
man i want a bta so bad, but ive had horrible luck with them. ive had 2, the first one got a bacterial infection and died, the one i have now is staying cupped up for some reason.
my rock flower nems love my tank, but not bta
Are you referring to Colorado sunburst nem
I didn’t see marbling on the foot, which is characteristic of Colorado sunburst. They look like Chicago sunburst.
Beautiful store
What kind of tweezers are those? :0)
The over hang on the new tank is unnerving 😂
we like to live on the wild side woooooo

Love anemones. My LFS sells them for 50$ and they're beautiful. Too bad my last two visited my Nero 5 :-( 😞
put some panty hose over it
Just got my first nem today. What is the name of that red starfish in right end of a reefer 250?
Orange echinastrea

I think those nice bubbletips anemones are called Colorado sunburst anemones 🔥🔥🔥
This episode is dedicated to me March thank you, -anemone addict
yes it is!
Keep yours friends close… and your anemones closer 🕷❄️🕸
We definitely need a Tia takeover. Can’t go a week without videos!
so sorry !
Why didn’t you show where you moved the nem to?😮
In the US we call them Colorado fire sunsets
longnose hawkfish
It’s $60-120for the rose bubble tip In Miami FL
Updates???
Where did you get those tweezers/tongs I need some! :)
made locally
@@fragboxcorals Ah I'll take it they don't ship/sell internationally then, just my luck. Thanks for letting me know.
Here in the UK you can buy them for £30
If you were closer to Mississauga you could call it an ultra rainbow and charge 12000$ for it 🤣👀
LOLZ
Anemones are cnidarians which is the same family as corals, both are animals.
We call those Chicago s in the states
I got a orange and green bta (2-3in) for 40 dollars and could go any day of the week and get a 1-2 inch one for 15-20dollars
I’m coming up to buy all of those! Resell them for 1200 bucks
do it !
Hell ya let her do a video
Wooow thx for the video ahahah
Love nems
Colorado sunburst!
You need an SPS dominated tank.
I'm disappointed they didn't let their SPS reefer grow.
@@driftguyae86 I understand but still would be nice.
@@mathewstreet as I sps lover myself I definitely understand also 😅
You need nem guards for your wavemakers, otherwise you WILL make yourselves bubble tip milkshakes!
great advice!
You should give it since sexy shrimp to host it
Day 11: Im really hoping for a Berghia Nudibranch farm Video :)

They are all Colorado sunburst . Not rose Bubble tips. Rose and rainbows have pink tips , not yellow
Why you not allowed to say Rainbow lol
I’ve been told they are an animal
I feel like this video is older. Unless you guys redid the IM20s scape in the last 24 hours.

Is Tia your gf?
Can u please close the freaking door
Which door?
@@gspfields4276 clearly you dont know marsh
hehe
Anemones are invertebrates, or an "animal" lol either way, its not considered a coral, you'd be more right calling it an animal 🤣
Ha first
nah, i just picked up an identical one for 60$...sounds like you are overpriced sir.
This guy talks way too much
