Love your videos, almost ready to take the leap but probably will need to keep living vicariously through you and other reef keepers until the desire outweighs the fear 😜 although I did buy the Ripple ATO for the future...
Thanks for making the video. I had to bring my rock to my LFS with two rose bubble tips and we swapped out a piece of live rock they had. That was two weeks ago and they are still in that rock.
Hey I need some help friend, I have a sunburst bubble too that I’ve had for about a month now and I’m beginning to worry that it’s not getting enough light because the tentacles have bul Ed up more but are like 1/3 as long as when I got it so I’m worried it’s slowly starving?? It’s color has actually gotten better and it reacted to n ate mysis/krill that I gave yesterday immediately swallowing it which I tend to think is a good sign but the severely shortened tentacles is wiggin me out the light is a lil better version of black box style led so I know the lights strong enough but the anemone is currently 18in under water where it’s been pretty much since I got it, it initially moved back n forth a few inches a couple times went to the backside of a rock in the front so I slightly turned it and it’s stayed there I did increase the flow a lil over a wk ago bc it wasn’t getting really any flow beforehand so idk I’m worried and am thinking maybe I should try moving it up higher in the tank to see how it reacts but I don’t wanna unnecessarily stress it or possibly bleach it and then end up really worried but I’m tryin to get other reefers advice before I do anything with it bc other than the tentacles severely shortening u would think wow that’s a show piece but idk seems odd to me that it has shrunk it’s tentacles down so short in jus a few wks
If it wants more light or glow, it will move to get access to it. If it’s taking food, keep giving it food each day till it stops. You’ll know as it won’t be as sticky and will likely spit the food out after a few minutes. Keep water parameters good and it will be fine. Don’t stress about how long the tentacles are though, varies from tank to tank
@@ParkersReef first off thank u very very much for getting back to me so soon and with good info backing up what another RUclipsr told me earlier today if it’s not moving around or stretching for light it must be fine and I think I’m jus over worrying bc there’s a baby one that’s at the same level about 10in away from the big one that is also staying in place and it even slightly hides from the light some times so it must be plenty enough light idk jus throws me off having my hammer coral 10-12in higher in the tank and the nem clear at the bottom always thought nems were high light demanding besides the rock flowers but seems like everyone’s telling me btas are the same way again thank u I’m gonna leave it in place where it’s at and feed it every 2-3. Days jus to be sure it’s getting enough, I’m wondering if maybe it’s getting ready to split in half bc one side of it has a slight pinch to it and if u look at its mouth it has white lines(same exact color as mouth) forming on both sides of the mouth but that could jus be the way it is
Parkers Reef I can understand that but I want a Sam Parker bubbletip nem..so name your price mate and I will commence to saving. Their is no rush to put it into my tank as I have yet to purchase it yet . But I want another tank to put my twospot goby into. Then get a pistol shrimp. And a pair of exotic clowns I’m a fan of symbiotic relationships. . I’m happy to pay and collect later so I can have the best chance to have the clowns host the nem.
they are a stunnnnnning anemone! hahaha great second attempt! lol in the freshwater hobby its easy to remove a plant attached to wood, just pull it off but that anemone certainly gave you a run eh? hahaha
Ha, nice buzz cut on the sides. I broke down and tried to give myself a full COVID-19 buzz cut. That was all great until the attachment fell off in the sink in front of me while I felt cold steel running against my scalp. If you ever watched "Jack Ass" when they randomly buzz people's heads that how I felt. Johnny Knoxville and boys are from my general vicinity. They are from West Chester, PA.
Turned out that the LFS employee misidentified what he sold me - it was actually worth closer to $250. It split naturally a few months ago and I got my money back plus another $100😆
@@ParkersReef Love yo know secret to them bubble, Mine massive and some times small one sit back bubble but then there back to massive is it lack of food to much flow maybe
The ice trick works awesomely! Holding it on there for a minute makes them lift their foot just enough to allow you to get under the foot. Those nems are stunning, one would look awesome in Gordon’s predator tank 🤔
Could you share some tips on "farming" in a separate video? Like how you grow them, split them, manual cutting, etc?
I reckon I could yeah, let me see what I can do
Thanks Sam, it’s great to see this as I’ve been thinking about moving my orange tip BTAs and getting a high end BTA.
Hopefully it helps give you some confidence in getting him out!

Ah thanks for the feedback! I am glad you’re enjoying the videos and hopefully one day we can lure you over to the dark side!

Sometimes you can get them off the rock easily enough, sometimes it’s a bit harder :)
How long did it take to grow those mushrooms 🍄 that big?
And do you have any secrets for growth? Thanks 🙏🏼
the mushrooms took a couple years, no secret to their growth - just time
Hey man. What light are you running on that tank?
just a basic DIY style blue and white led setup :)
Another good video mate. I've always found leaving them out of water helps a great deal!!
I just feel bad for them :P
Pls post a video on anemone care - feeding and lighting tips
It'd be a pretty short video! I find they thrive in lower light, dirtier water and with less love than you'd expect :D
Great video, what is your success rate when you add the af mud for a split?
pretty high to be honest. But it's not like I dose it daily, usually once a month

Perfect timing this, just picked one up a few days ago. Since adding mine it's moved an inch and stayed put, is that normal or just lucky?
can be completely possible, its a total flip of the coin with bubble tip nems!
@@ParkersReef let's hope he's happy then and not throwing a strop!
She’ll be right mate
nice work, i saw it float off and was like this is too easy haha, but yeah looks tricky
Hahaha yeah sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not so much :)
Do you sell them by chance and you don’t have any use for a reef octopus classic 1000 HOB protein skimmer
Yeah I do sell them mate, but no use for a HOB skimmer
Do you does trace elements as well as the mud in your tanks?
in this tank, no trace - just water changes. Mud goes in perhaps once a month
Do you have one for sale Sam I would want to pay for one what price would you want for one ?
Hey John, I do mate - but they are bloody expensive...

@@johnjohnson8962 I got rainbow anenome if you want to swap any corals or frags? Also got a lot of gsp and star polps frags for sell or swaps
Do you think that Red Sea tank could support sps?
Sure could, just some of the easier SPS varieties. Dallas grows in there till nems or shrooms grow over it
How much is one of those nems
Dropped in price a lot over the last year, currently $250ea
Would you ship those
Yeah I could, where in australia?
Where I get a thank like this?
thank?
Aquarium
That tank is a Red Sea max 130. Any Red Sea dealer can get you in the modern equivalent of this (this tank is a good 15 years old)
When they ask why I take a business card everywhere I go haha
clever ;)
Have used this technique and the ice trick myself in the last, mainly use an old credit card tho
The old credit card has a serendipitous feel to it 😅

you say that mate because it's second nature to you, I would be shitting bricks if I can to relocate a plant in a freshwater tank!
@@ParkersReef hahahaha idk.... never had to relocate a plant with a card with the intricacy that you had... just rip it off lol

hahaha fresh cuts!!!
I prefer to use a toothpick to remove the foot from rocks.
Not worried about piercing the foot?
@@ParkersReef ive honestly never had an issue with it, i just take it slow. I find the toothpick helps especially if they are in a hard to reach spot.
Nicely done!
😍
Did you pick up yours yet mate?
@@ParkersReef sure did and it's doing awesome 😊
thank you!
I just spent $150 on a BTA the size of a 20 cent coin. I think this reefing shit is driving me slowly insane lol
hahahahaha yep, sure seems that way sometimes!!
Turned out that the LFS employee misidentified what he sold me - it was actually worth closer to $250. It split naturally a few months ago and I got my money back plus another $100😆
So this video has nothing to do with “farming” nems but only just removing a nem from a tank... 👎🏻
Happy to discus further on what I do to help them propagate?
Parkers Reef well just misleading title. And yeah make a video of that since that’s what this was called 🤷🏻♂️
Sorry to disappoint, will see what I can do in future
I always wanted forest fire bta it's split 4 times lol
hahaha yes, they do love a good split!

Your nems are killers dude!
Cheers bro!
I wish you could ship me one ☝️
where are you located?
