    This channel is honestly so underrated! I tell all my friends about you bc. you have helped me understand so much content that our teacher fails to explain properly. I wish there was some way that I could support you because you have helped me gain a lot of knowledge and you have definitely improved my grades and confidence

      i completely agree, i was getting grade 6's in triple science and now i got a 9 in biology, 8 in chem and hopefully a 8 or 9 in physics soon

      @@mutasimzaman2067 Bro keep at it, what matters the most is consistency, i've only been staying consistent and real with myself for a few months eng language went from a 5+ - 6 to a 7, and im happy because the end of gcse exams are in may and this was only from october to around december.
      ALSO, DON'T EVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS
      always compare yourself to how you did yesterday, and always seek improvement

    at 2:19 u described nuclear fusion as light nuclei to heavy nuclei... did u mean small nuclei to large... as in nuclear fission 2 small nuclei produce a larger nuclei with a lighter mass?

      Hi, some mass is lost yes, but the 2 nuclei that fuse together are each lighter than the nuclei they form, so we can say 2 lighter nuclei fuse to make a heavier nucleus or 2 smaller nuclei fuse to make a larger nucleus, both are correct :)

      no. There are just different types of helium and the periodic table lists the most common one

    amazing video. I screenshotted the ends of the concepts and made them into flash cards for my test. It did well. Tysm you have really brought my grade up in science 10 from a fail to a B.

    We have created fusion here on earth, but the total amount of energy in is greater than the energy we can get out so it's not useful as an energy source.

    Hey.. can anyone explain pls. At one point in the video it’s said that two LIGHTER nuclei fuse to form one HEAVER nucleus, but at the same time they say that the mass of both the smaller nuclei is GREATER than the one large nucleus, as some mass is lost as energy. So... how does this make sense?

      Basically it says that the total mass of the two hydrogen nuclei of will be higher than that of the helium atom produced since some of the mass is converted into energy. So the product (helium) will be less massive than each of the reactants (hydrogens). Then it says that two light nuclei (e.g. of hydrogen) can make a heavier nucleus (e.g. of helium) as in the mass number of the product (helium) will be greater compared to each of the reactants (each of the lighter hydrogen nuclei). Hope this helps

    Really appreciated this concise video and its sister on fission. Question: how do we know for certain that fusion occurs in stars? Is this fact or theoretical?

      Well sun is a star and is the hottest thing we know. So the temperature required will be acquired and the fusion process can take place. Well that's what I understood 🙂

      Well stars are composed of helium and hydrogen... The two elements that are a sort of fuel for the fusion in stars to start. In fact for a gas giant planet to become a star, there must be fusion reactions in its core and the planet must acquire the prerequisites for fusion reactions(mass, temperature, pressure etc..)
      How do they know that fusion is the main source?
      They analyzed the spectrum, temperatures and the wavesn etc. coming from the sun..also iam pretty sure there is no other reaction tht produces more energy than in fusion

      Kind of ....that small amount of mass that's lost is called the mass defect since theoretically the constituents should add up to give the exact final mass but that's not the case.

      Usually we say that nuclear reactions are an exception of the law of conservation of mass since the mass doesn't add up exactly to give final mass

    Forget Nuclear fusion. I predict that Europe might one day depend on Africa for its energy. Africa has the capability to produce solar energy to firstly power the entire African content or even the whole world. This will completely change the power dynamic

      Hi Dil, thanks for the support :) really happy you like them! Yep they’re all hand drawn! Most of the pictures are drawn using procreate on an iPad! To animate them we use iOS screen record/ adobe after effects in various finickity ways 🙃
