Blundstone boots review. The Blundstone 500 Chelsea boots reviewed and cut in half to see whats inside and if Blundstone lives up to all the hype. Blundstone boots are made in Australia and have been popular recently. Are Blundstone boots any good is one of the most common questions i get asked and this video answers that question.

Agree one of the best wearing and most comfortable boot although the safety boot with the steel cap rubs on my little toe. Note all safety boots I have ever had rub on my little toe as I have f..k up feet. In order to stop this I buy a size larger and were Extra Thick Work Socks. I have tried work boots from Redback, Mongrel, Steel Blue, Blundstone. Baxters and meany more. The worst boots I have ever warn were from a Russian Manufacturer and a USA Manufacturer who's names I can't remember both issues by a mining company when I work in PNG. I suspect the company went with the cheapest quote as such the boots lasted less then a month before they rotted away from the wet and muddy conditions. Further most of the local employees had very wide feet and there toes didn't make it into the steel cap. The company finely after several safety incidents arranged for a couple Australian manufacture to fly a rep to site and measure ever local employees feet so as to make boots suited for the local employees. I got fed up with replacing my boots so I purchases as set of Redback and some Joseph Lyddy Neutral Waterproofing Dubbin cleaned them ever day and applied the Dubbin they lasted 2 years were most boots only lasted 6 month max.
ive got the dress 2029 Chelsea blundstone.
bought them 4 years ago, I wear them casually , not for work.
very comfortable, very light, good looking. perfect for my needs.
don't want an 2 lb [ slight exaggeration ] iron ranger , with triple sole, leather this and that...[ ive had those] sure they're over built but not as comfortable and light for my lifestyle.
if your a logger, fine go buy a hotshot nicks boot., I get it.
loving my BS's
A friend of mine ran into an issue with his Blundstone’s after 9 years of ownership. Blundstone replaced the shoes at no cost. Now that’s service.
Thanks for sharing that experience. These videos as well as your comments are definitely meant to help others gather information on leather and leather sources. I appreciate it.
@@RoseAnvil I have owned a couple of pairs of Blundstone Boots and found them to be comfortable and hard wearing. The company are very helpful if you have any issues.
Yep same here. Had my blundstone steel caps for 4 years and had an issue with the stitching. I emailed blundstone and they sent me a brand new pair, at the request i destroy/cut my old pairs. Excellent customer service considering they were well past the warranty period!
@@RoseAnvil Please do a comparison between the Blundstone 500 and the Ariat Barn Boot. I've dropped mad money on Ariats over the years and I suspect they aren't all that, quality-wise. Because of your review I went ahead and got a pair of Solovairs to use as my equestrian boots. God, they're so much more comfortable than my Ariat paddock boots. Thanks, all thumbs-ups and one new sub. Best wishes. ;-)
That is more than Service. It is not reasonable to ask after nine years for a replacement. That sounds like a company trying to capture market share. There is a reason Hyundai has the 10/100,000 warranty.
I bought a pair of these boots in Toronto about 8 years ago. Last year one of the inner layers of one boot cracked, making it very uncomfortable to wear. I went back to the same store on Queen West, they determined that it was a manufacturing issue and gave me a new pair. No hassle and they were really nice about it. Fantastic boots and a serious commitment to customer satisfaction. Impressive to say the least!
I’ve had great service from that very same store! They replaced the side elastics on my Winters for free a few years back
I'm in Toronto, what store was it?
@@tiagothinksI believe it’s the “Australian Boot Company” @ 698 Queen St W
Hey dude, I'm a cobbler from the Netherlands and just wanted to say you're doing an amazing job on these videos! You mentioned making a video about the different materials used in soles, and I'm actually really interested in what you can come up with. I actually have a TV in my shop where I have your channel on a playlist, so people will watch your content while waiting for repairs. Very informative overall, 5 stars.
Also on subject of the video you asked people if these boots last for a long time, the foam used to make the sole so comfy is actually an Achilles heel in terms of durability. Once the wearing layer on the bottom runs through this foam gets exposed to moisture, on which the foam simply falls apart after a while. I mostly recommend to watch out for that exposure and resole a rubber layer to protect the inner foam using
Polyurethaan glue (like the euro brand Wakol Plastocoll) together with 5% hardener. Apply, let set and reactivate with a heating gun. The edges are a bit iffy, so I finish those with some Cyano-Acrylate glue.
I really appreciate the support and suggestions. It is good to know I am not totally butchering these videos in which a cobbler is more of an expert than I am, just being a leather worker. But I continue to try and educate my self on the trade and topic of cobbling and shoes.
Interesting note from their website that's worth a mention "For those with a wider foot, we suggest you select a half size up. When you buy a Blundstone half size, the footbed is exactly the same size as the non-half size. So what’s the difference? Our half sizes have a little more leather in the upper of the boot, providing extra room for people with wider feet."
I've been using Blunstone boots for well over 40 years. I've tried others, but keep coming back to the Blunstones. They are cheaper in Australia, my latest pair were around $125. I typically get about 2 years with everyday farm use and virtually no maintenance. They do tend to take on a bit of water in really wet conditions - the leather gets damp so I hose the mud off and dry them in front of the fire. The sole wears pretty well and the TPU starts to crack after about 18 months continual usage. I have a pair of the Blunstone "dress" boots for weekends or travelling, now into their 10th year and starting to show signs of wear, but excellent for what they've been through.
I've been wearing Blunnies for about 40 years. Like another commenter said they're good for about 2 or 3 years of continuous use on the farm. I think they're very waterproof, the leather may get damp but my socks are always dry. Even the elastic upper seems to be waterproof. The first thing to go is the TPU sole, I've never had the pull loops come off or any of the stitching fail. Like any shoe, they last longer if you maintain the uppers and generally keep them clean. They're a great boot for the money and make going through airport security a breeze.
Which one do you wear a “dressier”?
@@JPGENARI I use the 500 around the farm, current pair are about 3 years old, and the 659 dress boots when "out and about". The 659's have just been replaced after 13 years, basically worn them out.
I don't work, I rarely leave the house, and I have no money or reason to buy these boots, but I was VERY excited to see the solid heel
Glad to be of help in what ever way I may have helped you.
@@RoseAnvil I just like watching your content :D
As an Aussie, I’ve owned several pairs over the last 30 years - one of the best wearing and most comfortable work boots ever. Give them a polish and you can wear them out as well. Great value for the price when you consider they should last 5+ years and a regular coat of bees wax makes them pretty waterproof.
Thanks for sharing that experience. These videos as well as your comments are definitely meant to help people form their own opinions. I appreciate it.
@@antoncarmoducchi6057 er...they were last made in Tasmania around 2007. Even the Chinese/asian made boots are still good, but the Tasmanian made ones were even longer lasting.
@@antoncarmoducchi6057 I used mine (steel caps) for work. Over 18 months wear, doing average 10-15 kms per day. Worth it for the price.
I get roughly 2 yrs out of em for work.
I switched to Redbacks since they are still locally manufactured
For sure contact them. I think they have an “oops I mistakenly cut my boots in half” lifetime warranty.
ha ha for real
Love love these boots. Have the same pair. My first. Just bought my second pair today after 6 years and my first pair are still brand new. Heel needs repair. But, I walk a lot and hard. They are brand new. Getting the heel redone for another 6 years for sure. Second pair, bought the waterproof rustic black. Gorgeous and sooooo comfy. The best ever. I live in Canada. All kinds of weather and lots of walking.
I JUST got Blundstone's for my birthday a few weeks ago and I basically live in these. So comfy, easy to walk in, and yes, my ankles are wonky so the pull straps and elastic feel great. After a month ro so, the leather has gotten these beautiful detailed imperfections along the leather because I've gotten into the sand, walked on ice and through some light snow, and I generally just trip over my own feet quite a bit. After wearing every day and getting more into terrain, everything is holding up so nicely.
Also: just read up on the company's history through WWI and WW2, pretty cool. It's worth a read when there's time!
I've gone through 2 pairs of 500 series Blundstones and I LOVE THEM. Good for all 4 seasons in most of British Columbia, super comfy, and they can dress-up a bit with some polish, and survive 2 seasons working outdoors on farms.
The yellow memory foam tab at the heel wore out in my first pair, which held up for 2.5 years but a year and a bit later, my second pair are holding up just fine. I don't work outdoors anymore, so I suspect they'll last even longer.
Never thought I would be so intrigued by boots being cut in half. Great Video!
I'm from Australia and I been wearing these since 7 years old. I never not had a pair of these they're a true aussie icon
5 years with my blundstones, putting them through the ringer and barely a scratch. Best boots I’ve owned.
I recently got this exact pair and I really like them a lot. They’ve leapfrogged all my other boots and what I grab first every morning. Thanks for the review.
These are my favourite boots! I've been wearing them steady for over 2 years now, and they're so damn comfortable. How interesting to see the inside of them! The foam sole explains the comfort, for sure. Thank you!
Been wearing Blundstones since 1997 as my daily driver. They used to be made in Australia (Tasmania??) but are now made in Vietnam. I’ve seen complaints about quality dropping, but I can’t tell the difference. I’ve tried boots of all kinds, including high dollar benchmades, Red Wing, Frye, Johnston&Murphy, etc. I keep coming back to Blunnies: all-day comfort, durability, sharp looks.
ya i forgot to mention that in the review ha ha
The soles disintegrated on a pair that I purchased in 2011. The company recently replaced them. It was actually shocking: put them on and sticky black pieces of sole broke off and got everywhere, smeared on my wood floors. You are lucky. They went through a bad manufacturing materials and quality patch, into which my purchase fell.
LOVE these boots so much I bought a pair for my daughter for Christmas. And the COMFORT alone is worth the price tag of these well made stylish boits.
Thanks for your input. These videos as well as your comments are definitely meant to help people form their own opinions. I appreciate it.
@RoseAnvil do you happen to know what's the purpose of the cut on the vamp area? Is that functional?
I got the Blundstones 1472, chisel toe wingtip model. I bought them on January 2016. They look exactly the same, feel just as comfortable, and barely have any damage on them (they have a deeper scratch on the front tip, on one of the boots).
I love these boots, they are my go to boots for everything. Going out, hiking, events, you name it. I cant recommend them enough! Try them, you wont regret them.
Ps. I bought the wool inserts, so good and warm in the winter!
i am from Perth Australia i have worn blundstone boots for 20 years wear them every day work in go out in last years i have a new pair ready to go great boots loved your comments on them thanks
I wear my blundstones everyday of the year and love em. I live in the SE US and mainly have to deal with wet weather conditions. I have not had any problem with them due to water. I do use Nikwax on them once a year to keep the leather water proof.
I’ve worn my Blundstones every single day during the winter months from November to March for the last 5 years in some tough Canadian weather. I wouldn’t consider them winter boots but they’ve held up VERY well
@@kjs3431 I purchased their winterized pair a couple of years back. They've held up really well, and are warmer than their 500s. They make a nice pair of city-wearing winter boots for Southern Ontario. Effective, light, and still a bit dressy. They aren't as grippy as a proper -40 degree rated winter boot, but I never expected them to be. As long as I'm attentive to the sidewalk, I have very few problems.
Come on lmao they're about as stable on ice as doc martens (which is near level 0 of friction resistance) and as soon as you step in 1ft+ of snow you're fucked. Unless your understanding of winter use is to walk to the subway station or bus stop but eh I can do all that in crocs too.
Have worn my Blunnies nearly every day for over five years, still going strong. Great cost-per-wear, great for all day wear. They are my favorite shoes.
I need orthotics in my (fairly small choice of ergonomic) shoes and so I really appreciate that you mentioned that detail. When the podiatrist first gave me my orthotics, he ripped and shredded out the original glued on insole (they were cheap boots but very comfortable) and the orthotic didn't sit very well on the ripped out foam. He then gave me a list of criteria for a new shoe that I've found impossible to meet, so yeah - I'm loving this channel for looking up the quality and durability of pricer boots and I appreciate that you included that detail
I bought a used pair of blundstones two years ago and I fricken love them!!! they are the best boot to have if you live in the vancouver area. Great to withstand the rain and puddles, great to take on hikes where there are pathways made, they are super comfortable! Also love that you can polish the boot and they look brand new again! I will always have a pair of blundstones!

Heavy stuff. Solid content. I’m a tad surprised the Jordan’s had no midsole compared to the AF1 boot.
I've had a few pairs of Blundstone for jobs I've had here in Australia. They are comfortable, sometimes a little bit too comfortable. You tend to want to wear them everywhere. Ive never had an issue with them quality wise. They always seemed to hold up very well. You tend to get rid of them when they literally are falling apart or you cant hide hideous damage you caused to them. Thats just my experience.
You're right about that, when I had a pair for work I ended up preferring them to sneakers as my regular daily shoe
I absolutely love my Blundstone, I have 2-pair, a winter pair, and an everyday pair they are my go-to boot for comfort!
I’ve had 2 pairs of the 500s, my sister bought me a pair then she gave me a pair because she didn’t wear them. I’ve had these boots for almost 25 years! They are well worth the money, I wear them almost everyday in the summer to work on my family’s cattle farm & I wear them on weekends. I’ve had to have them resoled a few time & added inserts when the originals wore out but that is it. So comfortable!!
Glad you are enjoying them.
Can't wait for the Red Wing Moc Toe.
@@paulfogarty5040 cool, thanks
hurts by toe.
Great video! I’ve had my first pair of blundstones for 8 years now. I have 3 all together and I think I need some more... The sole is great on the boot, nice comfort on the heel as you can see. They hold up great as long as you take care of them. I’ve seen many customers have their blundstones for longer than 10-15 years and blundstone is great and will usually fix most issues or replace the whole boot. Great customer service there. It’s great that this boot also moulds to your feet as well. The arch is great in the boot but I’ve heard the arch and footbed is better in the Australian red back boots. I personally don’t have a pair of those yet but they look just as good. The blundstones are designed in Australia but are not made in Australia anymore like the red backs still are.
I liked the opposition between the old docs and new ones, so maybe for future vids you could get some used vs new to see the wear. Great series.
I have worn steel toe Blundstones as an automotive mechanic from 1982 in Australia at the age of 16 to now that I am 54 in Canada still as a mechanic. I tried a laceup pair of workboots when I first moved to Canada, but they only lasted 6 months. I usually get between 3 or 4 YEARS out of Blundstones. I did buy a pair of Redbacks (look the same), and they were slightly better in fit and comfort, also lasted 3 plus years, bit harder to find over here, so back to Blundstones.
I own three different styles, soles fell apart on all three after a few years. I filled out warranty replacements and Blundstone sent me brand new boots! They wear like tennis shoes, but are tough as nails! I read in a blog that Blundstone had some problem with their soles but have changed the chemistry and now no problems, Blundstone’s have always stood behind their boots. The harder you wear them the better they look and feel!
Suggestion: Wear the boots you cut for a day so you can give a first impressions review. That would be interesting and might help us folks knowing what to look for when trying on boots in stores.
Also: FIX THE D!!!1
Honestly I was hoping for at least a week.
That would be useless. Boots require a break-in period, definitely more than a day (even with all the mink oil tricks). Let him do what he does best.
@@xandr13 Sure, I understand, but for example with videos like this it would be interesting to know how comfy they actually felt, rather than just looked.
That’s not the point of his videos, there are a lot of other videos on people’s review of boots over a period of time
Irwin Arzaga okay. Thanks for your opinion, I guess.
I've been a Blundstone wearer for 15-16 years as a daily driver. All day, all conditions (Eastern Canada). I'm likely on my third pair in that time... Love them for their comfort. I always see failures in the leather where the toe cap meets the leather and on the soles near the ball of my foot. Thanks for this video... i hope they send you a pair to try!
Do you have any pics you could send me on instagram? @rose_anvil
@@RoseAnvil yep, sent
Have a look at the Blundstone 990 they have a rubber toe cap I havnt worn one out yet
Am on pair 5 in twenty years as a carpenter in Scotland.great boots and my second pair in the soft toe going to the pub boots .the soles came off my first pair after 8 years .think the salt on the roads fucked them a bit.cant complain though
i wore these for twenty years truck driving from mid twenties to 50 years old and now my feet are screwed and i can only wear top of the range uber expensive sneakers,,DO NOT wear these pull on style boots as aneveryday wearer, you will pay a price later on..stick t quality lace up work boots
I wear them daily with my own orthotics they last for years. Dog walks through the woods horseback riding, gardening, they hold up. I work on shoes for a living, resoling, lifts etc.,
You pay for what you get. Yep, worth it.
I am not so happy with the pair I got. I find they cannot stand being in rain a lot (I have Dr martens that do ).
How do you get the on with orthotics I can’t get mine to go on with the braces
how did sizing work for u with orthotics? i would like to order a pair for my dad for christmas, but i’m not sure what to do for sizing since my dad wears orthotics
Rachel Santos they work for me. I always allow for 1/2" extra in length when buying any shoe. I've worn full length cushy insoles and 3/4 length insoles with Blundstones, they work well with either.Do remove manufactured insoles that come with shoes to wear Orthotics at first, and, as they break in if they feel loose or sloppy return factory insoles underneath Orthotics. Save your receipts Zappos has a good exchange policy if you only wear inside to try them out.Good luck
Hans Memling they are not water resistant. You can always spray with a silicone spray meant for shoes.
Just bought some Blundstones and I really love the fit and they’ve got a really lightweight but durable feel to them. Soooo comfortable. Going to be perfect for our ❤cold wet Welsh winter. We’re having, while still really cool and casual looking. I was able to use Nikwax Fabric and Leatherproof, which is a popular outdoor adventure proofer here in the uk which we need a lot. Taking them on a muddy winter holiday next week, so watch this space and I’ll report back.
I've worn these on most days of the year for about 3 years.
No issues in the heel that you were curious about. The boots have held up tremendously well. About twice a year I give them a wipe down and some Nikwax and they still look new.
Thanks for sharing that experience. These videos as well as your comments are definitely meant to help people form their own opinions. I appreciate it.
Been wearing them sense 2000. I love them. My first paire got re soled 3 years ago. Sole started to fall apart after 14 years!!
Dang thats some crazy stuff for a sneaker.
I was in the same boat, but we are lucky in the sense that our boots are old. The new foam inner sole comes at a cost in that a replacement sole cannot adhere to it nearly as well as the solid rubber in the old models. I've also had to replace the elastic in the cuff of the boot, as those wear out relatively quickly.
Wow! Some people talk about having a 6th sense, but this guy has 2000 senses! 😱
Thanks for the review and having the courage to tear them apart. I love these boots. One of my pair was stolen and had to buy again and will keeping buying as they are really worth it.
Would you consider tearing apart ASOS boots? Would be interesting to see what their cheap fast fashion boots look like. I own a few of their house brand shoes and they've held up pretty well despite being cheap.
Congrats on 50k subscribers!
Yes, it would be interesting to see what's in low quality boots as a comparison, like he did with the $10 wallet and belt.
Having just watched all of your Blunstone videos for the first time, I’m very sad that I didn’t come across your channel before I purchased a pair of the 500 series. These reviews are awesome, and I hope that more people see them before spending money in a way they might regret
I just stumbled upon this video. I just bought a pair of Blundstones. I lived in the NE and a bunch of people wore these boots. Living in FL, we don't have much of a need for utility Chelsea boots but I love these. I feel like they will last me years and look cute with straight cut jeans. I think I'll get a lot of use out of them in our brief winter in NE Florida! I initially wanted RM Williams after a recent trip to Australia but I cant justify $400-600 for a boot Im wearing two months out of the year.
Blundstones are the best thing I've ever bought! I got my first pair in 2014, they're still kicking 6 years later, through intense winters, hikes, three countries, maritime rain etc! Before that I was going through about 5-6 pairs of boots a year. I've recently bought my second pair, they're definitely a cult boot.
Are they breathable during summer?
I love Blundstones. I just purchased my second pair. First pair lasted 7 years and I would say I wore them at least 200 days a year. Good value for the money. I replaced the pulls and elastic sides once at about year 3.
I've been wearing these boots for 5 years
Construction work, garden work and field trips left no sign of erosion
I recently bought a new pair of boots because I wanted new color, I think the old boots can easily last another 5 years
My Blundstones just turned 13 years old! I wear them from late fall thru to 'sandal season' here in Canada. I just discovered the sole of one is cracked almost the full depth, all the way across the ball of the foot! Not sure how long it's been that way, but when I put them on, I can't even feel it! They are still as comfy as ever! So as an experiment, I'm going to keep wearing them and see how long they last. The second the leak, or become uncomfortable, they're done! I'll let you know! Love my Blundstones!
I have had three pairs and I can honestly say that they have been the most comfortable and durable boots I have ever owned. Due to buy my forth pair very soon! Thanks for sharing.
have you tried redback?
Good video! I've worn Blunnies ever since I moved to Canada in 2011 - they're huge here; especially during the wetter weather. I typically get about 3 years of daily wear before the sole wears down too much; never had any issues with the leather or the insoles.

They're actually my second pair as my first ones were sacrificed as a work boot and sort of got dirty but held up really well to scuffing etc.

I've owned redwings and chippewas and was forced to buy blundstones as part of a dress code by my old job. So glad that happened because they have become my some of favorite boots. Very comfortable and so easy to put on and off. I even went hiking in central America wearing them and they held up great!
I’ve had these for 2 years and wear them everyday from fall to spring. I have wide feet and these are comfortable as hell. Cool video, glad I found you.
Can't wait for the Vans, have a pair for 5 years or so, love them
PS: Great Video as always
PPS: Got the MIE Doc Martens, love them, treated them with Mink oil
I’m an airline pilot and wear a pair of Blundstones as my uniform shoes. Had the. About 2 years and they have held up well and are very comfortable. They shine up nicely as well. Would definitely get another pair in the future. While it does have a metal shank they almost never beep going through security unless the magnetometer is turned up to 11!
I got my third of blundstone 500 last year. the second pair lasts for 11 years, pretty nice. I do wear my blundstone 500 pretty much always ecxept for the summer. I rode, hiked and worked with them in the garden and cleaning up horse paddocks. I live in the north of germany near the north sea cost. We have a lot of rain around here. But if you treat this boots once in a while with a little shoes wax they stay watertight. They are super comfy and are super light. Did I say that I love them?
keep up the good work! Thanks for the videos! Do a Palladium boot next please :)
I've always wondered how secure the pull tab is. I've owned two generations of these and that thing takes a lot of abuse but never gives up. What may give up is the TPU sole can begin to deteriorate, but not for many years. These are my favourite boots. Super comfortable.
I have had a few questions about that. Hopefully I can do a video on that eventually.
I have a pair of Blundstone's that I've worn every day for 6 years. Still going strong. Best. Boots. Ever.
what do you do to stop sole going sticky?

Living in southern Canada,

Meanwhile in Canada there is a brand called Canada West making these in house for a bit cheaper with superior quality...
I’m an Aussie. We used to buy these new for $80 back in the 90’s. They were a cheap work boot but you could also wear them out. Very popular. I used mine on our farm but asp daily wear. Awesome boots. Now I wear RM Williams as a business wear boot. Again, super popular in Australia.
Have worn them for years! They wear extremely well with minimal care. Easy on with the tabs and easy off. Great value for the money!
I leave in Israel and every one is wearing blundstone literally every one! And thy are one of the best boots i have experience the so comfortable that people are hiking in them i just love them
I'd love to see a video on sole material types! Also, if you do Red Wing, could you compare a Heritage boot to one from the actual work boot line?
I bought my blundstones 4y ago and theyve been by far the best boot I have. One thing that really surprised me was the ruggedness of the rubber formula, I've been super aggressive to the soles dragging them at high speed down asphalt while longboarding and the lugs show very minimal wear
I'm from Tasmania, Australia. Blundstones were originally made here, for a long time. My stepmother did an apprenticeship as an industrial machinist back in the 60s. They have moved most of their production to Thailand I believe, but they are still made to a high Australian standard. Nice boots and they last forever.
I had a pair around 18 years ago it lasted 3 years. It was the first pair of boots or shoes that lasted more than 6 months. After the 3 years I bought a new pair but by then they were not made in Australia anymore. The 2nd pair only lasted around 6 months.
I then found Redback model UBBK, which is a little heavier than the B500 but it's more comfortable and more sturdy. I'm on my 4th pair in 15 years.
For a dressier look I have a boot called Mongrel, it's a sister company, so I was told. It's similar to the RM Williams but with a rubber sole and cheaper. I still can't wear them more than a day. These are the only 2 pairs of boots I can wear.
A test on both would be very helpful.
Thank You Rose Anvil!!!
I just found this channel and was looking you cutting good boots was a torturer but glad to see it at the same time. I don’t have Blundstones but I bought so similar Keen boots last Christmas and love it. I owned lots of Keen shoes and boots so I’m interested to see inside.
I’d love to see a Clark’s shoe or boot cut up to see if they’re the quality everyone says they are. Not the desert boot but a lord jack or batcome lord. Also love to see an Ecco shoe cut up.
Hey Mate. Nice videos. Thank you. I'am a cobbler from Leipzig Germany. I like my Palladium boots a lot. So I challenge you to cut them in half. Greetings and keep the good work up.
I’d like to see what’s inside the Red Wing Iron ranger. Thursday Captain or Thursday Diplomat would also be good choices
I adore my red wings. had them for years. They are built to last and with just a little but of care and maintenance, years later they still look great with a good patina. The build quality of a red wing boot makes these things look like a plastic kids' toy.
i don't think i can handle seeing iron rangers being cut in half
Which is better the red wing weekender chelsea or the blundstone thanks.. i just want to buy a chelsea boots
Watching you cutting boots and shoes in half is oddly satisfying! Subscribed STAT!
ha ha thanks!
Bought my first pair one month ago and all ready bought another pair they are that comfortable. I own a 4 level book shelf full of miz mooz, timberland, roots and random pairs and the blundstones are the most comfortable. Now I have my eye on my next pair, they are amazing!
100k... I would say Allen Edmonds, but they’re pretty transparent about their manufacturing process. Everybody has seen the cork. Maybe do an audacious fashion brand... something silly like Gucci.
Would love to see some steel caps - the mongrel boots in particular.
Had a pair of Redbacks, loved them. You have to tear Redbacks apart and do the side by side comparison to Blundstone.
Redbacks are better. Blundstone soles disintegrate. They have been known to crumble into pieces. Redbacks have arch support built into the midsole as well.
Steve Wise oh yeah Im a mechanic and my coworker and I got some I wore my old pair for about a year, I had molten hot bolts melt into the soles, dragged my feet and tracked a lot of old oil/coolant around and they held up like a champ.
@@NoLieIm51 search Blundstone Soles disintegrate on youtube and google
This is why I went for redbacks
Excellent boots. I have two now. I had an older version where the soles started deteriorated. They were faulty. These are well made and comfortable.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's really helpful.
I just found a used pair of these for $2 and they are by far my most comfortable boot out of 20 different pair. I will definitely be buying another pair at full price
Brilliant shoes just bought a second pair the first ones lasted 7 years
And I discovered a shop in Salem Oregon that will resole them, and then you get another 7 years out of them!
Would these hold up to heavy farm and timber work for so long? What type of wear did these endure or possibly fail to?
let's start from the obvious, great video as always, as for the band saw.. mate, it's just rubber friction ;) couple of oil drops on the blade and the friction with the rubber will reduce, less heat, less strain for the saw and she'll be up to anything ;) my two cents for the 100 K subs? like I said before, leather jackets ;) cheers
guglatech ahhhh brilliant
water. Thats what you use when you cut conveyor belt
I'd love to see some Fluevogs dissected. I switched to these after Doc Martins, and haven't looked back.
Thanks for sharing. I will have to take a closer look at those sometime.
Doc Martins are toy shoes.
I have had blundstones for the past 5 years rock them every day only recently had to have them resold. They are super comfortable and easy to put on. When I first purchased them I went travelling for a month in the desert and hiked 20+ K days in them, super light boot. I work as a Paramedic in Canada and I know a lot of people both in the Fire service and Paramedic service that use them because you can have your boots off for a moment and then on in a second. I personally may purchase another work pair but don't think I will get another personal pair. I like the hand crafted vibe more and I enjoy the ability to lace up my boots and have them be something a bit different from the norm.
please do a series cutting up the different Blundstone models. I love this brand.
I’ve been wearing these for years. I have 3 pairs (different colors/styles). It’s the greatest shoe I’ve ever owned. I’m still wearing a pair I bought 7 years ago. Worth every penny. Epstein didn’t kill himself.
Yah same here. I wear them for work and the last me 5 to 7 years. Seems that they have changed a bit over the last few years.
In Canada they only carry a few colours at the retail stores. I remember back when I first started buying them there were plenty of colours and even suede styles. Not any more.
Did Epstein wear Blundstones?
m woo, Amazon has every model/colour made.
Do the Vasque sundowner GTX. New and old style difference in the heel and where they are made. It's actually similar to the original style from the 90s.
Good idea. I appreciate your suggestion. Hopefully I can do those sometime soon.
Do some American made Redwing work versus Redwing hertiage.
Dustin Butcher this would be very interesting - I ended up with a pair of waterproof redwing moc toe non-safety toe work boots, and they are phenomenal - for work. I would wonder how the Heritage not-officially-waterproofed equivalent boot would be constructed. These work versions do not look “cool” like the heritage ones do, but damn are they good for when I’m on the job.
Isn’t heritage all American made
@@quentonsmith6085 Yes they are
I would love to see that!!
We call them Blunnies as a slang name in Australia. I've worn out a dozen over the last 40 years, but they lasted 5 yrs a piece. Production used to be in Tasmania, but like most everything now in China. Super comfortable, but be careful of you drown them, the toe box will get deformed and fold down on your toes if you shrink the outer leather.. Little things , They also have the generous length in the pull tabs, other steel caps I have are a bit shorter and really a pest. They take polish well, and will reward you if you feed the leather. I use two pair on alternate days to keep them dry and fresh. Try the 200 model too.
Thanks for your input and the suggestion. These videos as well as your comments are definitely meant to help people form their own opinions. I appreciate it.
Hi again, as to wearing through the TPU, I'm still wearing my oldest pair, (~8yo everyday work boots and most comfortable), to see how far I can push them. I'm showing the yellow heal foam at the moment and they are still going strong. Still go through puddles no problem. I've polished the uppers every other day when I'd wear these in the office & used a dab or two of "ShoeGoo" in the pat to counter the pronation wear in the heal strike of my gait, totally works without any weird feeling.
I love my Blundstone's, I have only had them for 2 years but they are my go to. Super comfortable, easy to wear. I have spoken to people who have had theirs for over a decade and still love them
they are comfy!
That bandsaw going through the boot, sounded like your cat, “having a VERY bad day”.
100K maybe cut a leather couch in half or get a 2nd cat
Cut a couch in half and have a cat emerge from beneath it.
Let’s see the red backs, I’m a mechanic and just bought my second pair
Vitor S Redbacks rock!
Have you tried BLUE STEEL BOOTS. They shit all over anything else on the market
Daniel Maher made in China 👎🏼
@@dolf3288 is that where the steel blue boots are made.
The type I wear are the Argile. Lace up boots with a zip side. There about $220-$240aus dollars.
Which is pretty high up in the price range.
The Blundstone boots in this video you can guy for less then $100. As there just cheap shit boots. And next to know one buys them in Australia these days. Redback and Oliver boots are far more common.

I can’t believe how much I love my Blundstones. I wear them for my daily 40 to 90 minute dog walks in Alberta Canada. My boots are 7 years old and I’m planning on getting new ones in the next month. When it’s below -20c I often switch to my heavy duty winter boots. I’m not a kid looking for hip boots, I’m 62 and love good quality. These boots are strong and very comfortable! Great review but I suggest you should actually wear them for a couple of weeks so you can speak to their comfort and durability.
I've been wearing these since the 90s ... there was a period when they went to pot, probably 8 years ago. They've worked that out and the boots are solid. I work as a gardener and have pair, one that is 3 years old, one that is one year old. I alternate daily and my feet and ankles are never tired after a hard day's work. Can recommend.
