Love the video mate. As an Aussie I feel like it’s my civic duty to say you’ve gotta try some RM comfort craftsman’s or Redbacks, they’re still made in Australia and last forever!
My mum and dad got a pair on the honeymoon when they were in Australia, my dad wore them and got them resold a lot over the span of around 10 years until one day the cobbler lost them, but I remember when I was around 12-14 I wore the ones my mum had as they were my size and weren’t deferent to the normal ones and loved them.
Yep. I’ve had Redbacks for years as a professional firefighter and not only are they holding up they are comfy too. I’ll prob get 10 years out of them wearing 3000+ hrs a year getting wet, bloody, dirty, etc. The value alone is staggering.
Black RMs craftsman are issued to the army here as the parade boot. I see RMs way more on dude's feet here in Oz .. Afterpay has made them more affordable I think. Blunnies use to be the boot for tradesmen along with Redbacks . However I mainly see American brand boots on tradesman feet. I actually prefer Red Wing Iron rangers .RMS kill my feet after I got into barefoot boots / running shoes . Blunnies are making a fashion comeback but RMs are for life
I find with Blunnies the sole wears out long before the leather . So you end with arguably , still years left of wear on the leather but is it worth a resole ? Funnily enough if you have a pair and their almost dead - contact Blundstone and fill in their warranty section . I did earlier this year and they sent me a new pair identical to my old ones free . You have to cut off the pull tabs and slice through the side webbing elastic bit . Send them a pic of the above i mentioned plus a paper with your name and current date on it too . Cheers
A pair of Blundstones or RM Williams' Gardners are great pairs of boots - particularly for running out the door. I usually go British with my boots - Trickers, Sanders, and the like because they really do keep going - even the suede stuff (I've found Wolverine's and to a lesser extent Red Wings lack some of the finishing you get on UK stuff) - but the Aussie's are certainly putting out great boots.
I love my blunnies but my Tricker's Stow boot will be the only thing going in my feet in an event of a zombie apocalypse (any other apocalypse). The Tricker's are quintessentially elegant but also built like an indestructible tank.
If I just use the otter wax leather oil on my rustic brown boots will that water proof them too? Or do I have to also use the boot wax and salve as well?
I really like these reviews or info videos about quality pieces. You're definitely becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs. Keep up the work! 👍🏻 Also got a new phone?
Big ups otterwax! Great for canvas for sure. Also for my leather-adverse homies, I recommend deckboots by xtratuf instead of blundies. Sure, less breathable and a little more for wet days, but they rule. Living in the Willamette valley it's wet 9 months, so I use deckboots for the 50F+ days and higher rubber boots with insulation for the cold days. I love rambling in these comment sections about my experiences in the PNW. It's fun. :D
Great Vid! I listened to this vid for about 4 minutes before i realised you were saying Otter wax, i thought you were using 'auto' wax for your boots 😂😂
It's not selling when you love the product. The otterwax range looks great. I'm just about to condition my bunnies for the summer. They look exactly like yours. I forgot the cleaning part lol so good reminder
Get that money, son! Also, start doing giveaways! I just ran out of wax after cleaning and re-waxing my Red Wings and could use some of that Otter Wax! ps) Not that you asked but I personally clean and treat my boots once a year, usually during the first hot days of early summer (I mainly wear them for motorcycle riding), so that they dry quicker and absorb more of the product.
Being Ozzy Love my Blunnys..got 585 scrub look & Classics in brown suede..i feel great in them..But if u want to feel like your in that special club u have to get a pair of R.M.Williams Boots...u know John Wick u r now his hero..R.MS Get into them🐎
Otter wax does use animal product though ... lanolin comes from glands of animals :D ( usually it's a byproduct of a meat industry. ) The company is also interesting for being called 'otter' and have a mink-looking logo. Minks as you know are squeezed for their oil used for leather shoes conditioning; otters are prohibited to hunt so .. )
Blundstones have been shit for a while now. The sole deteriorates within a year. This is likely due to the fact they are made in Asia and not Oz anymore.
@@TheIronSnail Awesome!! What model? I got iron ranger black harness I adore them. The only reason I dislike blundstones is that they can’t be resoled but its a good entry level boot. I got Dakota Men's Mid Cut Duratoe FreshTech Work Boots for 140 for my job at a steel factory. They are comfortable but hideous lmao.
U ain’t a sellout u bring good content
TY!!
Nothing is more satisfying than seeing a boot clean video
I literally just ordered a pair of 585s based on this video, thanks for the quality content as always Michael
Oh hey glad to hear!

Don't worry RM's are coming!

Damn rm are expensive but they look classy

Do boot trees work better than normal low cut trees for higher inch boots?
I like them a lot better! Feels more proper
20k! congratulations mikey!
Thank you!
Would these be a better choice than trainers or hiking shoes at a festival?

Hi there great video, Where did you get the shoe tree?

Keep up the great Blundstone videos, I have also just found your watch channel, great content
Thank you!
I’ve been using Otter Wax for years now. They are the best
Agreed!

Haha ty!
Where’s that blue “sailor” shirt from im digging it
Huckberry ofc! Armor Lux
@@TheIronSnail what about the black t shirt?
Great video and review! I'd love to see you review some Alden boots!
Deal!

I'm going to talk to Otterwax about that actually!! And ty I'll go get those billz!
Can you do this to suede blundstones?

I'll be getting a pair of RM's soon!
Hey! What color are your blundstones?
Good job on the video 👍🏾👍🏾 Enjoy the conditioning process also. Thank you for the code
Thanks my friend!
wow those hiking shoes look awesome
Dope right!
If Wes Anderson had a clothing YT channel… I love it
Ty! !
The Uniqlo shoes are really nice!
Never tried them before!
Great video mate:)
The last 10k just flew by, didn't it?
I'm proud of you, son.
And to think it all started with a hamper
also is your icon pants pants?
@@TheIronSnail How did it end up like this?! How did it end up like this?!
Pants on a knight, thoroughly modern.
How much did you pay for theses boots in the states?
In Australia, these are a cheap work boot. (Around $60US I think)
Nice content as always mate! Btw it's thanks to you that I got myself my first pair of chelsea boots ✌
Hey!!!!! Love that!
Try redbacks, still made Aus, and so much more comfortable
my guy any update on the jean jackets?
So so so so close (it's killing me)
Biggest issues with my Blundstones have been the heel grinding down.
Anyone else really craving some Tampico juice now? No? Ok just me then 👌
Are you telling me i can drink my leather brush
@@TheIronSnail I'm not, not telling you you...
Wool and Lanolin really rolls off the tongue
Maybe it was all for naught
@@TheIronSnail I was definitely being sarcastic lol. The Iron Snail is a keeper
Always a great video.
Thank you!!
Boot on kitchen top?
Hey,,,, those are some clean boots!
YOU KNOW IT SHANE!
Boom it’s the wax megakit.
I’m thinking of using the otterwax wax bar to redo my Filson🤷🏽♂️
I'd recommend!
I am from Tampico… nice
wouldn't a normal (grey, potash) soap or even washing liquid + sponge do the same trick thou? that's what I always use
lol, just brush off, saddle soap em, and put Hubert’s shoe grease on em!
Done.
You should watch Rose Anvil’s video where he compares Blundstone and Redback boots. Spoiler alert, the Redbacks come out on top.
I did! I just got these first!
Jacket update?
Edit: Can you convince Bahzad to do a Type II in the future?
It’s so so so so so so close! Final final things happening by im trying to get a vid out soon!
@@TheIronSnail I’ll keep my eyes peeled!
Also 👀 at the type II
@@TheIronSnail I’ve spammed their live streams couple of times to request a type II but Bahzad thinks type II won’t sell.
good video mike :)
Thanks Henry!
ya need rm William’s, they have a nicer silhouette
Coming soon!
@@TheIronSnail I find RMs look better with a narrow jean leg opening, if the leg opening is too wide they look silly
I'm a fan.
I'm confused! So many things to buy... so little money!
I bet your hands are super soft…and kinda waterproof huh 😸
HA! I hope they are waterproof
nice
Hey some of this video seemed a little hazy, I think something might be wrong with your camera, idk
It's KUSH
Disappointed in myself for sniggering at 9:20 or so
It's okay im disappointed in saying it

I know too little!
@@TheIronSnail that's probably a good thing! Show your journey!
They leak in the rain! Not worth it!
Just use coconut oil my guy. Been doing it on my Blundstones for the past 7 years
Really! I tried coconut oil early in my leather journey and it did not work out well for me
Blundstones have been shit for a while now. The sole deteriorates within a year. This is likely due to the fact they are made in Asia and not Oz anymore.
A boot the should cost at most $160 at most...
Of course they're not worth it when you can get redback boots
I hear they are pretty amazing!
Give away that extra wax please
good idea!
Lol
No they aren’t bottom tier boots get some redwings
I have some!

That's a lot of work to put into a pair of kangaroo chasers. Just throw'em in the trash.
R.M. Williams is just a phone call away.
Ha u funny Fk James..You should ask Twiggy Forrester for a job doing PR for RMs...Luv Ya style..smooth..u make me proud to b Ozzy..😎
