Are Blundstone boots worth the hype? I think so! How do they clean up? Pretty nice I think! Today we are restoring a pair of leather Blundstone boots that I got using OTTERWAX! Gotta love Otterwax (thanks Chris). Anyways typically people do these videos in an ASMR style but I'm too self conscious to do that so I just did it regular style.
I have a pair of 550's or technically 585's. When compared to the 500's there are some big differences that made me go with these instead (steel shank, leather lining, better shock absorption. All in all I love Blundstones! Not as repairable as good year welted boots like Red Wings, or Wolverines but still some of my favorites. Even if it's just because it doesn't take very long to put them on.
First, I cleaned the boots off with saddle soap to get the dirt, salt, excess wax off of them. Then I conditioned the boots with a leather salve AND leather oil to restore the cracked dry leather and then FINALLY I waxed the boots to make them more waterproof/water resistant/weather proofed.
    THANKS!!!

The two are set on taking over the world of fashion by creating a clothing line to end all clothing lines. Until then, we’re here to tell you EVERYTHING you need to know about the best clothing out there, from the highest quality raw denim jeans to the warmest jacket to the sturdiest boots…the Iron Snail has got you covered. My mum and dad got a pair on the honeymoon when they were in Australia, my dad wore them and got them resold a lot over the span of around 10 years until one day the cobbler lost them, but I remember when I was around 12-14 I wore the ones my mum had as they were my size and weren’t deferent to the normal ones and loved them.

Yep. I’ve had Redbacks for years as a professional firefighter and not only are they holding up they are comfy too. I’ll prob get 10 years out of them wearing 3000+ hrs a year getting wet, bloody, dirty, etc. The value alone is staggering.

Black RMs craftsman are issued to the army here as the parade boot.
I see RMs way more on dude's feet here in Oz ..
Afterpay has made them more affordable I think.
Blunnies use to be the boot for tradesmen along with Redbacks .
However I mainly see American brand boots on tradesman feet.
I actually prefer Red Wing Iron rangers .RMS kill my feet after I got into barefoot boots / running shoes .
Blunnies are making a fashion comeback but RMs are for life

Big ups otterwax! Great for canvas for sure. Also for my leather-adverse homies, I recommend deckboots by xtratuf instead of blundies. Sure, less breathable and a little more for wet days, but they rule. Living in the Willamette valley it's wet 9 months, so I use deckboots for the 50F+ days and higher rubber boots with insulation for the cold days. I love rambling in these comment sections about my experiences in the PNW. It's fun. :D

A pair of Blundstones or RM Williams' Gardners are great pairs of boots - particularly for running out the door. I usually go British with my boots - Trickers, Sanders, and the like because they really do keep going - even the suede stuff (I've found Wolverine's and to a lesser extent Red Wings lack some of the finishing you get on UK stuff) - but the Aussie's are certainly putting out great boots.

I find with Blunnies the sole wears out long before the leather .
So you end with arguably , still years left of wear on the leather but is it worth a resole ?
Funnily enough if you have a pair and their almost dead - contact Blundstone and fill in their warranty section .
I did earlier this year and they sent me a new pair identical to my old ones free .
You have to cut off the pull tabs and slice through the side webbing elastic bit .
Send them a pic of the above i mentioned plus a paper with your name and current date on it too .
    Cheers

Get that money, son! Also, start doing giveaways! I just ran out of wax after cleaning and re-waxing my Red Wings and could use some of that Otter Wax! ps) Not that you asked but I personally clean and treat my boots once a year, usually during the first hot days of early summer (I mainly wear them for motorcycle riding), so that they dry quicker and absorb more of the product.
