- Storytelling comedian Keith Lowell Jensen wants you to get arrested.
From protesting war to shoplifting marshmallows Jensen has found his way into trouble with Johnny Law time and time again, and fortunately for us it all adds up to a hilarious collection of stories. Recorded live at The Sofia Theater in the comedian's home town of Sacramento, CA these tales span from the late eighties to the modern day where cell phones still don't have apps that allow them to fire a bullet. Give a listen, have a laugh, don't resist the urge to find out "What I Was Arrested For..."
Jensen has performed around the world, including headlining the First International China Comedy Festival in Shanghai, China. His previous collection of comedy stories, Not For Rehire, recounts his many hirings and firings in his search for gainful employment. When not getting arrested, getting fired, or making people laugh, the comedian spends his time playing Legend of Zelda and Skyrim and hanging out with his wife, his daughter, and their two cats in an undisclosed location.

I totally agree with @julesw70 - Keith is a master raconteur of believable but bizarre true stories. The depth, breadth and detail of each story is compelling and incredibly funny. Amazing build-ups, twists and turns, all hilarious. Better than the most entertaining guest you ever met at nice event.

This was so head and shoulders above what else i've been seeing lately, I just can't express it: belly laughs, interest, rapport - this makes so many comics i've suffered through a bit of lately, look so far inferior, it's as if they're practicing two different art forms. How refreshing! It can be done! Without even dwelling on discussion of private body parts or gross sex acts. Who knew?

I too laugh when nervous. One time while waiting tables, I spilled the entire tray of pasta. I managed to get six tables dirty. I laughed so hard. I was immediately fired.

We watched this when it came out on the website and had to watch again. One of the comics that keep both my wife and I in stitches. Can someone from this RUclips account tell Keith he’s very funny and is making two people giggle like they were teenagers again? He is very good.

It takes a certain kind of mind to name your special, “What I Was Arrested For” and open with stories about times that you didn’t get arrested. And it takes a great deal of skill to make it work.
I’ve been a fan of Keith for a long time and it’s been a pleasure to watch him hone his talent. In this special he continues to focus on his storytelling. There are many types of comedy, but I believe that storytelling is the most challenging to master and the most gratifying when done well.
Storytelling is difficult because of the pacing. It has to have room to wander, but you need to be careful to not lose your audience before you reach your destination. It takes incredible courage to attempt it, and enormous talent to pull it off.
Jensen makes it look effortless. He makes it feel like you were just sitting at the bar and the guy next to you starts talking, but he just happens to have a bunch of fascinating and funny stories. And you don’t even have to ask any questions because he’s answering them as they are popping into your head.
It’s not a non stop laugh riot. He’s reflecting on his life in a thoughtful manner that feels like he’s just now getting how funny, absurd and ridiculously authentic everyone is, including himself. It’s impossible to think that these stories were written down and edited and second guessed and edited several more times until they were perfect. Because it’s just a guy talking to you.
And it takes something special to stand in front of a couple hundred people and take them on an amazing journey, while pretending that you’re just sharing some stories.

I have also been arrested for resisting arrest. I had to go to court and fight it to get it dropped
It's crazy the way they define the charge to make it make sense, and it's like, No, just don't call it something it isn't. Glad you were able to fight it
@@keithlowelljensen9997 yes. It's "resisting arrest or detention" and the latter part is defined as loosely as disobeying a police officer who is responding to a call or incident. I feel like I was lucky to beat 2 counts of it. When I went to trial, I was found guilty for one but not the other. I appealed the verdict and went to superior court, where I was found not guilty on both. The reason I say I feel lucky is because the arresting officer didn't lie or embellish any details when on the stand. In my experience, officers will embellish minute details to work around any mistakes they may have made during the arrest. But surprisingly that wasn't the case in this particular trial. He was honest, even when it was apparent that he was making statements that benefited my case. It didn't take care of my outrageous hospital bill from that night, but it set the precedent that I won't be intimidated into accepting charges that are uncalled for. The town cops didn't come near me for like 10 years after that!

Good we can all acknowledge that you can be arrested just for mouthing off because their egos are sensitive like that. Not treating them like masters of the universe really makes them mad and that is a punishable crime.
