@@deanbankes2548 I don't think many if any of Koenigsegg's technologies have tricked down to normal cars in the slightest. They build things on an unlimited budget that can never trickle down.
With bikes it's different, because even the most expensive ones aren't THAT expensive. I think most superbikes today owe their traction/wheelie control to Ducati introducing it in the 1098R IIRC and later the more affordable 1198S.

For the ultimate value/perf, I own a higly modified V4S corse (price paid:28K). Instead of buying the full akra for 7K, I buyed the arrows exhaust for 2K and a pair of Rotobox bullet carbon rims for 4K. I removed all stock mirror, Turn signal and legal stuff. Monocoque carbon subframe (2,5K) was added and 520 chain conversion (0,5K). The result? 230 crank hp on dyno and weight saving is 14kg. This translate in 160kg dry weight.
The final result: power to weight = 1,43 for less than 38 000€, which mean close to superleggera perf for a down to earth price. Can you beat that price to power ratio ? 🙂 It's ton of fun to ride on legal road and a weapon at my local track !

Naturally u need a few courses to know how to pilot it ... But : one $ 50,000 , 1973 Cessna 337G , airworthiness cert. is on sale now. @ Trade-A-Plane : two turbocharged 225 hp Continentals , 315 km/h at 75% cruise , empty /gross weight 1,264/2,100 kg ( i.e. u won't pick it up leaning on the sidestand , BUT, carries + than supaleggera...) , at least u wont look for deserted pavement or pay for track use , service ceiling is 5,900 m , there's 11.61 m wingspan ( nothing modish 50 kg downforce here , only flaps down @ 110 km/h stall speed !) , my dad used to sell'em new in '71, flew me hopping power lines/big trees , pls. find the opportunity to try one !
      P.S. - I was 20 in 1971 , had a 42 Pferdstimme R-69 S good for 180km/h , risky drum brakes/downshifting Acatene Übertragung to stop 202 wet kg + my own meat ... done since 300/14,500rpm on open road ( no cops before 0600 ) , '04 ZX10R , 185 kg wet & 16*40 final drive.
ZX10 R power unit broke alternator shaft , other story . Skymaster is excellent American stuff , worth a lack of mechanical trouble unavailable @ AUDI/Ducati , at any price ;:(!

That's the case with almost anything. Cars, motorcycles, boats, watches, guns, etc. For some people, having the best is worth it, and for others, having 90% of the quality/performance for much less money makes sense. Either viewpoint is appropriate. It's what is important to you that makes something worth the money, not what's important to others.

I still want to see how the winglets affect traction in a high speed sweep when the down force is pushing the tyres in an inconvenient direction...
These Ducati winglets sound like Aprilia's first gen V4R and Dorsoduro fuelling system that altered AFR on the fly. Mine's locked up it's back wheel a few times at speed because of the fuelling changing in a corner.

If your yearly company bonus would pay for it, then it's definitely worth it! If I had that sort of cash I'd put it in the front room, enjoy it as art and use a V4R as a track bike. But for any normal person, it's not worth that because you'd never be able to use the performance, wouldn't dare ride it incase you crashed it and there would be so many other cheaper bikes that would be at least as good at normal speeds.

Not to mention most people (in my area) don't track their bikes so a second hand bike that is 90k less will make you just as happy. Should I buy the Ducati Superleggra V4 or a Kawasaki (H2/H2R or wait for ZX-25R)? I wanna buy a sport bike. Which one to choose? I have ridden the Kawasaki Ninja 1000, BMW G310 S and Ducati Hypermotard 950 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. I am having trouble deciding on my next bike. Although there is a curfew going on in my beautiful country (India), but I wanna plan ahead. So can somebody pls help me out in figuring this out?

From all the high tech options you have mentioned it is worth the 100.000 euro in my opinion. But I'd take a V4S or better the SF V4S. A 100.000 euro bike I wouldn't dare to ride on the road. Put it in my living room and just stare at it. It wouldn't bore me one minute.

The carbon rims are coming from BST and the titanium exhaust is included in the total price. The real good bargain is to buy a V4R because its price is limited by the WSBK regulation (a little less than 40 000€ for the street legal models needed for an homologation, while it should be closer from 55 000€ according to Ducati's usual prices ).

Firstly I just want to say awesome video! As a owner of a V4, unless you were planning to do major track days with this new V4 superleggera I don’t think the value is there (just for the bike). The standard and the s model are so good it does not make sense to spend that kind of money on a “motorcycle“ (for which there such a small market for motorcycle enthusiast). However, I don’t know if you knew this, but Ducati says if you buy one of these bikes they will fly you out to Italy to do training with a professional Ducati rider and you get to ride a Ducati sbk bike.... For me, that’s where I found the value; in the bike and the experience.

I’m so glad he acknowledged the fact that downforce doesn’t really matter at 170mph cause you’re going straight. Where downforce and stability would actually matter is in corners... and those wings aren’t making any significant downforce at 70-90 mph. Please... motorcycle manufactures... stop with the winglets. Or at least do more like what Honda and Aprilia did and made more of a box shape so they are so gaudy like these

Know one is buying this bike for its value proposition or its value as a collectible. The 500 people that buy this bike can: A. afford it and B. enjoy having exclusive works of art. Exclusivity, is a pillar of a true luxury item. I think buying this bike would come along with too many expectations, the biggest of which being that I had the skills to ride it to the maximum.

The Superleggera is an investment for those rich guys who can afford it, and keep her in the best shape, later on, she will worth more than the original price. The Kawa is powerful, thanks to the supercharger, but heavy, not comparable on a track, where the same pilot can ride at least 1 second faster the Ducati. The H2 is the typical Kawa super powerful bike, but no use on the track.

obviously in terms of actual value it is not worth €100k.. but their is a market nowadays for limited series models with there perceived 'exclusivity' so manufacturers keep on making them.. most of them end up being garage queens which is a bit sad, but if it helps the manufacturers in making more mainstream bikes then good on them

I suspect Ducati and other companies who develop and release models like the Superleggera (limited edition pinnacles) do so as a form of crowd funding for future projects. 500 Superleggeras @ $107k USD is ~$53M - Superleggera V4 sales equals Ducati Electric Hybrid Sportbike development funding.
Regardless they are damn sexy and desirable.
