I must admit if I had the money I would not buy one. Not because I dont love it exactly the opposite. I would just drain the tank and put it on a wheel stand in the living room under a spotlight and look at it periodically throughout the evening while watching TV. That bike is to beautiful for road use a work of art.
They might sell a few but I dont see this model sticking around for long . Limited edition or some shit . It's way out of most people's price range. I'd rather have a built tt car or a house for 100000 .
Although being a Ducati fan, the bike is just not worth it by far. Take the R and throw half of the price difference to it, will ride at least the same. Or just ride the R and don’t worry about binning it.
It’s probably just me, but looking from the front those wings look bloody awful - far too complicated and fussy looking in my opinion. If I were looking to buy a super bike - which I’m not - I’d have the V2 and spend some of what I’d saved riding my KTM 1290 SAS up to the Artic circle, and back. But that’s just my opinion. Another great vid, Bob 👍 All the best, Andy 🏴
random_ cocaine46 I know why they are there, of course, but 99% of owners won’t have the talent to access that performance. The V2 is the sweet spot, though.
Should I buy the Ducati Superleggra V4 or a Kawasaki (H2/H2R or wait for ZX-25R)? I wanna buy a sport bike. Which one to choose? I have ridden the Kawasaki Ninja 1000, BMW G310 S and Ducati Hypermotard 950 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. I am having trouble deciding on my next bike. Although there is a curfew going on in my beautiful country (India), but I wanna plan ahead. So can somebody pls help me out in figuring this out?
From all the high tech options you have mentioned it is worth the 100.000 euro in my opinion. But I'd take a V4S or better the SF V4S. A 100.000 euro bike I wouldn't dare to ride on the road. Put it in my living room and just stare at it. It wouldn't bore me one minute.
I can’t comment on this Ducati but my brother in-laws ‘73 Ducati 750 SS is worth that much. Afterall, it’s the next best option to the legendary Green Frame.
The carbon rims are coming from BST and the titanium exhaust is included in the total price. The real good bargain is to buy a V4R because its price is limited by the WSBK regulation (a little less than 40 000€ for the street legal models needed for an homologation, while it should be closer from 55 000€ according to Ducati's usual prices ).
Firstly I just want to say awesome video! As a owner of a V4, unless you were planning to do major track days with this new V4 superleggera I don’t think the value is there (just for the bike). The standard and the s model are so good it does not make sense to spend that kind of money on a “motorcycle“ (for which there such a small market for motorcycle enthusiast). However, I don’t know if you knew this, but Ducati says if you buy one of these bikes they will fly you out to Italy to do training with a professional Ducati rider and you get to ride a Ducati sbk bike.... For me, that’s where I found the value; in the bike and the experience.
I’m so glad he acknowledged the fact that downforce doesn’t really matter at 170mph cause you’re going straight. Where downforce and stability would actually matter is in corners... and those wings aren’t making any significant downforce at 70-90 mph. Please... motorcycle manufactures... stop with the winglets. Or at least do more like what Honda and Aprilia did and made more of a box shape so they are so gaudy like these
I’d take the 1299 super any day over the baby v4... get a proper tune on the L twin and it’ll put down around 200hp and it is light. Only 370lbs with fuel.
Know one is buying this bike for its value proposition or its value as a collectible. The 500 people that buy this bike can: A. afford it and B. enjoy having exclusive works of art. Exclusivity, is a pillar of a true luxury item. I think buying this bike would come along with too many expectations, the biggest of which being that I had the skills to ride it to the maximum.
The Superleggera is an investment for those rich guys who can afford it, and keep her in the best shape, later on, she will worth more than the original price. The Kawa is powerful, thanks to the supercharger, but heavy, not comparable on a track, where the same pilot can ride at least 1 second faster the Ducati. The H2 is the typical Kawa super powerful bike, but no use on the track.
obviously in terms of actual value it is not worth €100k.. but their is a market nowadays for limited series models with there perceived 'exclusivity' so manufacturers keep on making them.. most of them end up being garage queens which is a bit sad, but if it helps the manufacturers in making more mainstream bikes then good on them
I'm not a cafe racer so, I'd take the new Harley fat Bob or soft tail s Nothing beats a harley when it comes to plain ole road trips And, they're less expensive
I suspect Ducati and other companies who develop and release models like the Superleggera (limited edition pinnacles) do so as a form of crowd funding for future projects. 500 Superleggeras @ $107k USD is ~$53M - Superleggera V4 sales equals Ducati Electric Hybrid Sportbike development funding. Regardless they are damn sexy and desirable.
...there is no other super exclusive like the h2R !! Kawasaki is the king in the super exclusive class !! Just listen to that supercharger !! Kitchhhhrrrrr !!! Kitchhhhrrr !!😍😍😘😘
The wings though probably efficient look absolutely ridiculous. Overhead a few people at London show saying they’d plump for the V2 over the standard V4 purely cos it doesn’t have the wings
Just to compare. A ninja 250 weighs 151kg. The superleggra is 1kg heavier than a ninja 250, that's insane
Good stat! Pinned
It needs bigger wings?
Actually the ninja 250 weighs 170kg.
My yzf r125 weighs 145kg. 125!!!!!
That's is way lighter than my 250
People who buy these DO NOT CARE if the value goes down. They buy them to put next to thier bed at night to look at and dream about...GOOD FOR THEM....seriously!!!
Yes, add to the garage collection, keep them as decoration in the Ducati area, next to the Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, etc.

I would just drain the tank and put it on a wheel stand in the living room under a spotlight and look at it periodically throughout the evening while watching TV. That bike is to beautiful for road use a work of art.
"
Is The New 2020 Ducati Superleggera V4 Worth €100,000?"
No.
Yes
No
it is worth that much because people will pay that much. if ducati doesn’t make a single sale then its not worth that much.
Why is the V2 the heaviest???
It’s probably just me, but looking from the front those wings look bloody awful - far too complicated and fussy looking in my opinion. If I were looking to buy a super bike - which I’m not - I’d have the V2 and spend some of what I’d saved riding my KTM 1290 SAS up to the Artic circle, and back. But that’s just my opinion.
Another great vid, Bob 👍
All the best,
Andy 🏴
those ugly wings are designed for function over form , thats why they look ugly but works
random_ cocaine46 I know why they are there, of course, but 99% of owners won’t have the talent to access that performance. The V2 is the sweet spot, though.
Imagine dropping it in the driveway 😂 going to need some huge crash bobbins!
@@TheAegisClaw you'll need bmw GS size crash bars to protect those 😂😂
@@dirtyhabitz2888 true, v2 is the sweetspot
Should I buy the Ducati Superleggra V4 or a Kawasaki (H2/H2R or wait for ZX-25R)? I wanna buy a sport bike. Which one to choose? I have ridden the Kawasaki Ninja 1000, BMW G310 S and Ducati Hypermotard 950 and the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. I am having trouble deciding on my next bike. Although there is a curfew going on in my beautiful country (India), but I wanna plan ahead. So can somebody pls help me out in figuring this out?
Are the caliper mounts 3D printed? Those lines look like layers. If they're not, I need to brush up on my manufacturing tech.
you are doing a great job with your videos! keep up the great work!
Depends what you want for the money - the bike or equivalent value in Big Macs ?
At 170mph downforce to keep the front end down IS IMPORTANT ...
👍👍👍
YEAH PROBABLY FROM WHEELIE
From all the high tech options you have mentioned it is worth the 100.000 euro in my opinion. But I'd take a V4S or better the SF V4S. A 100.000 euro bike I wouldn't dare to ride on the road. Put it in my living room and just stare at it. It wouldn't bore me one minute.
I've been told with the purchase of this bike, you get to Ride Chaz Davies WSBK, or for 30g more. Dovi's MOTOGP bike.
Now that would make it totally worth it, especially if ya got to meet, ridewoth Dovi hes a total idol
I can’t comment on this Ducati but my brother in-laws ‘73 Ducati 750 SS is worth that much. Afterall, it’s the next best option to the legendary Green Frame.
Tom Cruise will no doubt be riding one in a scene from next Mission Impossible movie.
I mean that is Art and as we all know Art is Expensive. Totally worth the Money
The BMW HP4 Race is even lighter and €20.000 cheaper. So a strong competitor.
But HP4 has less power
If I had the money, I would buy one for riding and another for the collection...... Dreams......
Can’t wait for mine to arrive
when it's gonna arrive
Leo Ironwolf I received communication via Ducati Monday that delivery is now being pushed sadly due to Covid19 within Italia
weight is everything and when coupled to high power it's a win
V4r is capable to generate 238 bhp after installation of akrapovic kit 😉
Bikes like these deserve to be made
I just had an accident with my Suzuki Gixxer, my right leg can't mobile side ways well now, not sure if I would go for motor cycle again
That is only 2 seconds slower than a full wsbk bike,,
Imagine if that’s full upgrade
Need to upgrade rider too😁😁😁
I’m so glad he acknowledged the fact that downforce doesn’t really matter at 170mph cause you’re going straight. Where downforce and stability would actually matter is in corners... and those wings aren’t making any significant downforce at 70-90 mph. Please... motorcycle manufactures... stop with the winglets. Or at least do more like what Honda and Aprilia did and made more of a box shape so they are so gaudy like these
End of 2021 its either this or the superleggera Gallardo, not sure what will be the better investment
100k Ducati=200+hp,loads of carbon fibre,1 seat
100k house=0 hp,0 carbon,3 bedrooms,2 bathrooms,living room,dining room.2 car garage.your choice
The Ducati, please!
LOLOL
The Ducati hands down dude
Definitely superleggera. More power is good but lightweight is better. The two together would be amazing...
If I had the disposable funds for it, absolutely worth it, AND it would be my living room showpiece :)
Investors weigh supply/demand. When you invest buy some of the company that typically appreciates vs depreciating products.
The only problem on that bike is not all bike fans can afford it. That is a master piece on this age.
Fantastic content, keep it up!
Cheers Joe!
Holy mother of christ this is the most beautiful thing ive ever seen
I’d take the 1299 super any day over the baby v4... get a proper tune on the L twin and it’ll put down around 200hp and it is light. Only 370lbs with fuel.
Considering that the equivalent performance in car terms are hypercars, $100k is a bargain
Most beautiful bike on planet!
Good video. When I win the lottery i'll buy 2 of them.
If.....
obviously in terms of actual value it is not worth €100k.. but their is a market nowadays for limited series models with there perceived 'exclusivity' so manufacturers keep on making them.. most of them end up being garage queens which is a bit sad, but if it helps the manufacturers in making more mainstream bikes then good on them
That’s true!
Superleggera all the way, track kit and all.
Go big or go home!
Here is the comment for kawasaki H2, H2R lovers 💞
Beat that monster.
H2 and H2R is kinda Big and also it's heavier than the Ducati.
H2 has worse hp/kg ratio
I'm not a cafe racer so, I'd take the new Harley fat Bob or soft tail s
Nothing beats a harley when it comes to plain ole road trips
And, they're less expensive
