    Hard to take this seriously when the chiropractor doesn't even know what the condition is. It's diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperstosis. D.I.S.H.
    Also, DISH does not lead to ankylosing spondylitis. AS is a completely different autoimmune disease. You are either born with it or you aren't.

    • @lukeshin1122
      @lukeshin1122 4 года назад +1

      It can be autoimmune or from a chronic inflammatory disease. At this point, it's considered one or another.

    I was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and then my rheumatologist decided to change my diagnosis to dish! I have every symptom of ankylosing spondylitis and only a few of dish! I'm very upset because my pain management dr has to keep increasing my meds because I'm in so much pain and can't get rid of it! I was just put on Belbuca film 450 mcg! Morphine shots don't phase me! And my dr said to take ibuprofen and tylenol! That's a joke, what good will tylenol do me when I'm already taking opiates and I can't take NSAIDS because I have a stomach ulcer from taking diclofenac! I think my dr got their degree from a cereal box! I think they just went backwards on their diagnosis with me!

    Whats the difference between gonstead and non gonstead?

    • @oryx1394
      @oryx1394 7 лет назад +1

      It's the method they use for the adjustments. When you see him adjusting or "cracking" their neck, moving it side to side, he is using the Gonstead method.
      Good question!

    I have DISH. this "doctor" would have probably killed me. the osteophites are much denser than bone and you could break his back. even worse to manipulate the spine of someone with AS. what a joke.

    • @terencejay8845
      @terencejay8845 5 лет назад +3

      I had undiagnosed DISH and my chiropractor nearly broke my back with thoracic thrusting. I haven't recovered from that three years later. It was only after my doc sent me for an MRI that the DISH was discovered.

      Terence Jay Most doctors are ignorant of this condition and have no idea what they are doing. These kind of moves could kill or paralyze a DISH patient. Aside from the genetic trigger, it is driven by chronic high insulin. Cut all carbs and sugar and fast 2-3 days a week. Also eat one meal a day. This is why it’s also linked to diabetes. Chronic high insulin drives excessive bone growth.

      In the US, an osteopath is actually a doctor (physician) and has all the same legal privileges as a medical doctor. Going to osteopathic school is just like going to medical school, except that they also learn to adjust the skeleton, which a medical doctor does not. This is because osteopathy was founded by a medical doctor who wanted to add adjustment to normal practice. An Osteopath can even perform surgery and prescribe medications. I believe this is also the case in Canada. However if you are outside the US or Canada then I can't entirely answer your question, because I know it is not the same, and that osteopaths are usually not physicians, and have less "scope of practice" and can't legally do all the same things as physicians. I believe they are similar to chiropractors in the sense. They adjust the musculoskeletal system but can't perform surgery or prescribe medications. Perhaps someone else can add more information.

    • @Luisjavn
      @Luisjavn 7 лет назад

      Allen Pogue do you know anything about osteopathy/chiropractic in Australia? Theres where i want to study/live someday.

    • @r1a1p1AllenPogue
      @r1a1p1AllenPogue 7 лет назад

      Only what is on the internet. I am not a doctor - just have worked many years in hospitals. It looks like over the last 10 or 15 years Osteopaths have gained the right to practice unlimited medicine in many countries but a few still have limitations. Australia seems to allow unlimited practice now if Wikipedia is to be believed. If you are comparing chiropractic to osteopathy then an osteopath has much more knowledge in general and it would make you a true physician, whereas a chiropractor will usually only treat the musculoskeletal system. Some chiropractors like to get into nutrition and wellness but frankly I don't listen to them, even though I feel chiropractic is beneficial for other things. I just went to a chiropractor this morning!
