I've found that the best approach to engaging with strangers is, talk to other solo people. I do this often as I too go places solo and find that they are WAY more interested then someone who is in a group. You're definitely not mean or unapproachable, people just stick to "what they know", it's an unconscious thing.

Moving away from home and muting everyone on social media (because just keeping it uninstalled is way too hard) has helped me realize so much more of what I actually want and like and I am excited every time I do something that's not influencer-y but still makes me happy. Everything you said in the park really resonated with me. I moved across the country last year and had a similar experience/reaction. You're brave for doing that and for moving to a whole nother new place! It takes a lot of guts and work to completely start over. We're both still young and figuring it out so try to be patient with yourself 💓
Wow hard core relate to you talking about chasing the life other people portray on socials. I'm turning 28 this year and my life is beginning to really settle down and sometimes it makes me feel like an old granny that my greatest joys in life are baking and gardening. I love seeing my friends on occasion but I'm just coming to a place in my life that I enjoy a slower pace and not being constantly busy and social. You're several years younger than me but I really look up to you for finding your authentic self and honoring that. 🤍
You should find somewhere to volunteer even a couple hours a week. This helped me so much in meeting new people and made me get out of the house when I moved to a new city.
this was so inspiring! i love taking solo adventures (: i’ve learned that being alone though means i have to be careful about paying attention to my surroundings especially at parks for some reason. i was listening to music and reading when a stranger asked me for the time. i love strangers so was happy to give it to them (i’m a major stranger smiler) but something felt off. later i found out this specific question is a tactic to distract to potentially take advantage of someone which looking back was probably what was going to happen but i left Asap as soon as i felt the vibes. headphones and expensive camera equipment can definitely be targets we should absolutely continue adventuring and delving into self but should try our best to be aware of whose around us because it’s honestly incredibly important. sending warmth your way!

if you're genuinely bored very often and you want to make friends, i think have a small part time job (maybe just on weekend or once/twice a week)!! maybe in a small cafe or coffee shop! great way to make friends and to become more social, and also just fills your week ☺️

The thing you said about how you can be the person you want to be by thinking in that way instead of having to be and think of yourself as the person you are/were/don't want to be,was such a simple but huuuuge life changing tip so thank you!!! We don't realise how powerful our brain's really are...Most of our problems can be helped/solved through the power of our thoughts, our thought patterns are a stubborn problem in itself though,that's the challenge.

@@MiladyToxic I agree with you. I'm trying to enjoy my own company. I did meet some mom friends at the park and we all oddly bonded and got along and it wasn't weird and forced. It really made me have a good day. But I agree to a certain extent that her enjoying her own company and minding her own business is beneficial.

Moving away from home and muting everyone on social media (because just keeping it uninstalled is way too hard) has helped me realize so much more of what I actually want and like and I am excited every time I do something that's not influencer-y but still makes me happy. Everything you said in the park really resonated with me. I moved across the country last year and had a similar experience/reaction. You're brave for doing that and for moving to a whole nother new place! It takes a lot of guts and work to completely start over. We're both still young and figuring it out so try to be patient with yourself 💓
Wow hard core relate to you talking about chasing the life other people portray on socials. I'm turning 28 this year and my life is beginning to really settle down and sometimes it makes me feel like an old granny that my greatest joys in life are baking and gardening. I love seeing my friends on occasion but I'm just coming to a place in my life that I enjoy a slower pace and not being constantly busy and social. You're several years younger than me but I really look up to you for finding your authentic self and honoring that. 🤍
You should find somewhere to volunteer even a couple hours a week. This helped me so much in meeting new people and made me get out of the house when I moved to a new city.

this was so inspiring! i love taking solo adventures (: i’ve learned that being alone though means i have to be careful about paying attention to my surroundings especially at parks for some reason. i was listening to music and reading when a stranger asked me for the time. i love strangers so was happy to give it to them (i’m a major stranger smiler) but something felt off. later i found out this specific question is a tactic to distract to potentially take advantage of someone which looking back was probably what was going to happen but i left Asap as soon as i felt the vibes. headphones and expensive camera equipment can definitely be targets we should absolutely continue adventuring and delving into self but should try our best to be aware of whose around us because it’s honestly incredibly important. sending warmth your way!
